Its been a while since I played the game, but I remember finding Harbor much easier to play than Viper. With Viper you need Lineups for your Mollies, and constantly watch your poison levels and once you used your wall you cant place another one.... The biggest weakness of harbor is that his kit is essenstially all just smokes so he has to rely on other agents opressive abilities, which makes him like you said, very team reliant.
Harbor is by no means a bad agent, unlike deadlock he has potential, its just some of his kit is outright useless and often is unfun to use or isnt good enough to replace for someone like viper. His wall is incredibly powerful, it can cover so much space in so many various ways, unlike viper he can creates walls on the fly for whatever the situation needs, cascade is also pretty good at stalling but it's weak compared to other smokes, and cove is mostly worthless with it providing limited value in most situations. His ult is okay but is one of the worst space clearing ults and you can like just dodge the concusses lol
Yeah I feel like his ult is a bit underwhelming and doesn't really feel too threatening like a Killjoy ult. Maybe they should buff it so it slows the ground so the concuss feels more viable…
Harbor is especially reliant on his team. Teammates who know how to play around your smokes will be vital assets. Harbor themself also needs to be confident in their gunplay, because that's just about all he's got...
One thing I learned about Harbor as one of the free agents I picked starting Valorant there are a couple of pointers to remember. 1. His smokes aren't sufficient for Controller role. This is because of his smokes have a very short duration vs other controllers. 2. You need to coordinate with your team and communicate how you will provide them smokes ans cover. 3. Don't be afraid to cove aggressively. You can use the orb as a cheeky one way or reposition for an aggressive position. 4. You're a secondary controller. If you can run double controller comps, your job is to replenish the smokes that your main controller provides. 5. It's an OP ult with an aggressive team, but communicate with them how to understand the ult better and avoid getting concussed.
tried harbor a month or 2 ago and it has become my new best agent and main. harbor is a more teammate oriented agent, which is why I think I do well with it. Agents who require too much util is just too much for me to handle sometimes and im not much of a solo player. With harbor, I can just focus on my fundamentals like as aim, spacing, trading, off angles, etc. the cascade is also really good at taking space and honestly wins me a lot of rounds
In my opinion harbor is strong like every agent, but he is hard to use. You can make a lot of awesome plays even with shorty on eco. Clearly underrated goat
I love playing harbor, I played him a lot when he first came out probably and I have 84 hours with him 144 matches. I only play him on sunset now because he's really good at sunset, he's an aggressive agent that can use smokes to block of mid and threaten tiles, market and top mid without using his main wall smoke. He's good for misdirection and repositioning using his smokes and aggressively taking space, plus he lurks pretty well too as his smokes block a lot of areas. Definitely not the strongest agent and outside of sunset I wouldn't use him as the primary controller with the current map pool, but he's fun and creative. I think if they made the slow through his smokes a bit stronger and a small tilt to cascade and slightly longer range on wall he would be in a fine position, also his lineups work the same as viper orb so you have a bit more flexibility to smoke further with cove as it works fine to smoke as people usually don't want to spam it down because of info.
I personally love harbor on ice box, breeze and pearl especially with a good kayo (so sentinels cant slow you down). If done right you can get site executes where you get a plant down within 20 seconds of a round and site control. In most of my harbor games I have like 10 plants or so 😂. Also good vid 👍
pls do more videos like this cus this was awesome. as well as the part where you explained how the agents r played n positioning, that was useful as ironic as it was.
I’ll be completely honest, I started playing this game yesterday after it came out on console. The first character I unlocked was Harbor strictly because I love his aesthetic and his vibe. But with the combination of not understanding the character, not even the game really, I’ve been struggling. This was genuinely a super helpful video, and gave me a fresh new perspective on how I should be using this guy. Thank you man.
I recently started playing Harbor and I've only lost 1 game while playing as him so far and have gone even or positive every game as well (I'm a low elo player so this is pretty big for me tbh). Here's a couple things I've noticed about his kit that I've found useful/interesting/fun, as well as some tips High Tide: The ability to curve the wall is incredibly useful. It makes for a more flexible method of blocking off sightlines and can be used anytime during a match. Obviously a Viper wall serves a more permanent function, but it sacrifices flexibility in return. imo, Harbor walls are much better for attack than a Viper wall, at least in terms of information denial and sightline blocking. Cove: for starters, Cove blocks a certain amount of damage, from both inside and outside the bubble. Obviously it's great for protecting a plant or a defuse, but I've found it also works well as a temporary way to trap an enemy. Usually, smoking an enemy just cuts off their vision, which might not always save someone because you can still shoot through most smokes. But because Cove blocks damage, temporarily preventing an enemy from damaging you can really mess with their tracking and game sense. Cascade: While not as effective as other smokes, the fact that it's a moving debuff is great when used properly. The slow effect is good for catching people unawares in a choke point or push, and when paired with ally abilities/angles can really stop a push in its tracks. Then there's the fact that you can stop the Cascade at any time before it finishes its travel distance, which obviously makes it great for blocking LOS through doorways/windows, etc. (Also, because the cascade is flat on all sides, enemies can't necessarily peek around the corners like they could with a regular, spherical smoke). Reckoning: IMO, this is the weakest part of Harbor's kit. Sure, the AOE is large, and the geysers are helpful (only if they hit someone), but it's not as effective as it could be. It honestly should apply slow to enemies in the AOE. However, even if the geysers don't hit, they can still be pretty useful as information tools. They can help you locate ratting enemies, and even hit all the way from hell to heaven on certain sites (for example Hell and Rafters on A site on Ascent). So if you look out for where the geysers are spawning, you can get a pretty good idea of where enemies are. Overall, Harbor is definitely a weaker controller, kit-wise, but what he lacks in raw controlling power (molotovs, more impactful debuffs, etc), he makes up for in flexibility. He's definitely the kind of agent you want good teamwork with (good comms, great synergies, etc) but once you learn the ins and outs of his abilities, he can become a pretty decent Off-Controller pick.
Agreed, sometimes Harbor works as a solo Controller but he really does better when he gets to do his own thing and be a secondary controller. Good insight on his abilities too!
Hi, day 1 harbor main here, imagine me beating the crap out of you! You're absolutely correct that he's not very self sufficient, his reliance on teamplay makes him a lot more difficult in ranked. Because his util is unlike any other controller's (especially cove) he needs a lot more prep and comfort with his kit, which most players don't want to spend time doing when they can lock someone that doesn't need that level of practice Otherwise it's really cool to see what others figure out when learning this agent, even though I've played him for so long I'm always learning new things. Nice video :) (also the reason I main Harbor is because when he was leaked, his codename was "Mage" and because that's my tag I'm obligated to play him)
OMG A HARBOR MAIN! But yeah, Harbor was wayy out of my comfort zone but it was fun learning him! It's always cool knowing that sometimes the lowest pickrate characters have the most dedicated players that main them :)
a cool thing you can do with harbor to get information is that you can throw out his cove into angles and walk into it right as it finishes coming up. you will be able to see everyone on that angle while staying protected
harbor is amazing to pair with flash peeking. the smoke is flat so enemies can't camp out the flash like dome smokes do (especially clouded dome smokes). arguably pheonix can do it on his own
I think he's also great to pair with Cypher's trips. they don't have the visibility to destroy the trips, and once they punch out of the wall theyll run into the trip.
as a habror main, the high tide at 4:02 was really good because it gave you a rat spot, improve it to make it smaller and you can be really ratty with corner wals
I think one thing about Harbor is that his kit is basically only smokes. Omen has a flash and tps, Viper and Brim have mollys, Clove got all sorts of shit, and Astra got a concuss and a swirly thing. Harbor doesn't have anything. I think that riot should remove the slow penalty for Harbor and his teammates and buff how long the slow affects enemies. I think they should also add the slow to enemies for his cove so that it could function as some kind of stall util that almost every other controller has. I love playing Harbor but if you wanna win it doesn't really make sense to pick him over anyone else.
I do like Harbour but I once heard someone make a great point about him: all he does is smoke. None of his abilities have an extra kick to them that others do besides slowing down enemies for like, 2 seconds as they pass through the abilities and that's it. I love using his bubble because it is nice when defending and defusing. But it is also the same thing, just another smoke. Same with his wall and same with his waves. I kinda wish they'd do a big overhaul of his abilities but they never have so I doubt they would because they probably don't know where to go with it. I feel like his waves at least could go faster and genuinely stun an enemy if it hits them rather than just slow them down. That be kinda cool
Harbor is so good for solo queuing, I can cut up the map efficiently and not have to rely on ransoms that don’t communicate, if nobody wants bomb I can give myself a safer plant, and best goatee for site retakes especially if ults up
I feel like the reason he is so unpopular aside from requiring a lot of teamwork to make use of his abilities the best,is that in my opi ion I feel like his abilities are kinda .. boring ? Like they are really good and powerful when used properly but there isn't really anything in his kit that allows to go for really exciting plays especially in soloq.
Lol, that's exactly what I said. He don't sell me the fantasy of what a waterbender could do in a battlefield. If Harbour could create and surf water tunnels, or control water on other states or even inudate the battlefield that would be very neat!
bro harbor is so damn good, his util is so fun to use and is good with teamwork, reccommend trying him out. C - Wall ( use it for taking control on a orb or block the enemy from getting info ) Q - Cove ( use it to block enemy's from shooting you,use it when your cornered, planting and defusing ) E - Wall 7:49 X - Ult ( Use it like a kj ult to take over the site but you can see enemy's spots by the yellow lines on top of them ) Tell me if I said anything about his util wrong :D
You should watch a harbor main tbh. Theres a whole lot more he can do. The walls dont have to be conventionally shaped. You can make weird things that let you sneak behind enemies right in front of them. You can cheeky hide in places they cant find because of his wall. Then you can cove in that wall to kill mutiple ppl without them even knowing where you are. Simply using the wall to just block sightlines is not even exploring its use.
as someone who has played more than 800 games with harbor, i would say that the reason he is not picked much is because he has a high skill ceiling which means its gonna be hard to control his high tide without practice, people are unaware of many tricks with harbor and just try to play him like your conventional controller, his cove might seem useless but it has saved me countless times in planting or diffusing the spike, pair it up with gekko wingman and its almost a guaranteed plant, the only buff i would like to see on him is that when enemies push his smokes, their vision will get tunelled( like omen paranoia) for some time in order to add more value to his smoke also it would be really good if we can see the location of his ult on the minimap
There’s 2 issues with harbor and why he isn’t picked much: 1. Harbor requires a lot of team coordination. That’s why you’ll see a lot of success with him in VCT because, with set strats and executions, harbor is very good at what he does which is controlling and cutting off parts of the map, enabling you and the team to take it piece by piece. Of course, if you aren’t a 5 stack or even a duo, this all will be way harder to accomplish. 2. Harbor just isn’t that good as a solo controller. When I mentioned the VCT scene prior, all of the times harbor was picked was when he was picked alongside another controller. Sure, he’s great segwaying parts of the map to fight for and take space, but he can’t stall nor can he anchor. With harbor, because of how his abilities work, his positioning is very important. And being out of position means that you are going to have little to no value with any of his util because you’re nowhere to get value out of it. It’s why viper is such a good partner; while they’re both line smokers, viper can’t pick up her line to smoke somewhere else and segway the map, but harbor can’t anchor or be out of position lest his smokes get no value. It’s all these factors combined which makes it much easier for players to both use and understand other controllers rather than pick 1 that asks for so much.
I don't play Valorant anymore, but I think Harbor lacks personality in his kit. He reminds me of that military guy, but different from the military one he doesn't sell me the fantasy. I think Harbor would be amazing if he somehow was more about mobility and he was able to bend the tides to create fun water tunnels for him to literally surf through it. Imagine: you as a Harbor creating a water tunnel that goes to the sky and then surfs it killing the enemies you spot from above, that would be really cool!
one of my brother's mains is harbour, and bro he plays him so good like everything he picks that, no matter what map (has to be defender tho) he can control the site like almost everytime he stops the team from rushing or just enteringthe site
Harbor strangely feels ok in my hand, he helped me reach diamond. But it's probably because of the map rotation that's why he feels kinda underwhelming. In my experience he does really well on Pearl, Fracture, Split and Breeze.
Genuinely I love harbor. However, I find him pretty unplayable on Breeze and split without another controller (his util is just doesn't fit well on split and defense on breeze is so hard). He is generally pretty fun though. Cove especially, it's a really good multipurpose tool. Can get your team out of choke points, plant the bomb in really open areas, help you defuse, and a bunch of random smaller things.
If you play League of Legends as well and you like this type of content, check out @Ecorelol !!!
0:43 Nobody going to take harbor from you lmao
bigger thing with harbor is that the most consistent round-to-round value he puts out is smokes and a bullet shield so he ends up with a very teamwork-based kit
granted his smokes are probably one of the most flexible since you have 3 walls and one orb, one of which could probably do 3/4ths the smoking on split b and walls are an advantage on breeze and icebox but it's the fact that outside of smokes and the occasional site stun he doesn't do that much outside of that which doesn't help in ranked
brim: highest damage molly, stim, high damage targeted ult
omen: tp, flashes
viper: molly that applies vulnerable, decay
astra: global reach, access to both stun and vulnerable
clove: decay, self-heal, self-revive

Only if she gets buffed imo
don't slander my gal deadlock like that
Harbor is especially reliant on his team.
5. It's an OP ult with an aggressive team, but communicate with them how to understand the ult better and avoid getting concussed.
you deserve more subs, your an actualy creator with a good future with this kind of content
1.6k subs???? Keep it up, great work!😁😁 +I personally loved the ‚mad world‘ remix for the final montage
Nice video bro, keep up!
dude I watched your other videos like this one and it is the best valorant content I have seen, keep going
tried harbor a month or 2 ago and it has become my new best agent and main. harbor is a more teammate oriented agent, which is why I think I do well with it.
Clearly underrated goat
also why only a few teams use him in comp, and they usually dominate (like LEV's Icebox and Abyss, or PRX last year almost with 100% bind winrate)
Nice video, good luck on your journey :D
8:24 Bravo lol, you understood how to play ANY conroller
I love playing harbor, I played him a lot when he first came out probably and I have 84 hours with him 144 matches. I only play him on sunset now because he's really good at sunset, he's an aggressive agent that can use smokes to block of mid and threaten tiles, market and top mid without using his main wall smoke. He's good for misdirection and repositioning using his smokes and aggressively taking space, plus he lurks pretty well too as his smokes block a lot of areas. Definitely not the strongest agent and outside of sunset I wouldn't use him as the primary controller with the current map pool, but he's fun and creative. I think if they made the slow through his smokes a bit stronger and a small tilt to cascade and slightly longer range on wall he would be in a fine position, also his lineups work the same as viper orb so you have a bit more flexibility to smoke further with cove as it works fine to smoke as people usually don't want to spam it down because of info.
bro ur dedication is crazy!!!😭 destroyiing his mental for us fr!
Harbor is one of the best agents design in valorant, the kit is uniquely awesome too!
Extremely good watch dude! Nice work 👏
I personally love harbor on ice box, breeze and pearl especially with a good kayo (so sentinels cant slow you down). If done right you can get site executes where you get a plant down within 20 seconds of a round and site control. In most of my harbor games I have like 10 plants or so 😂. Also good vid 👍
wow its insane how underrated you are, your videos are really well edited
pls do more videos like this cus this was awesome. as well as the part where you explained how the agents r played n positioning, that was useful as ironic as it was.
How does your channel and this video have such less recognition? Your videos are so high-quality man keep it up. Consistency is key
when i saw the quality of the video i thought youd have aroumd 100k, your gonna grow hella fast
This is some great editing thought u were a 100k sub+ youtuber, goodluck on your journey!
you’ve got good potential keep it up brudda
Harbor is a fun agent to play, you can get very creative with his kit. He’s my main along with skye
It's pretty crazy how few Harbor players I see in my games. Swear the last time I saw one was when Pearl was in rotation.
good job bro the video is really high quality , keep it up
Amazing editing bruv
you're underrated, how are you on 500 subs??! wow
How the hell do u have 550 subs. Awesome crazy production u just got a sub keep it up. Would love to see this series go more ❤❤
Awesome video man! Also editing feels really good. It would also be nice if you made series "I Spent 10 HOURS Playing (Agent)" ^^
I recently started playing Harbor and I've only lost 1 game while playing as him so far and have gone even or positive every game as well (I'm a low elo player so this is pretty big for me tbh).
Here's a couple things I've noticed about his kit that I've found useful/interesting/fun, as well as some tips
High Tide: The ability to curve the wall is incredibly useful.
What Mic do you use?
YT algorithm did u dirty.
I hope u will get more recognition
Man I don’t even play Valo, but even I enjoyed this video a bunch. Keep up the good work!
Hi, day 1 harbor main here, imagine me beating the crap out of you!
You're absolutely correct that he's not very self sufficient, his reliance on teamplay makes him a lot more difficult in ranked. Because his util is unlike any other controller's (especially cove) he needs a lot more prep and comfort with his kit, which most players don't want to spend time doing when they can lock someone that doesn't need that level of practice
Otherwise it's really cool to see what others figure out when learning this agent, even though I've played him for so long I'm always learning new things. Nice video :)
(also the reason I main Harbor is because when he was leaked, his codename was "Mage" and because that's my tag I'm obligated to play him)
OMG A HARBOR MAIN! But yeah, Harbor was wayy out of my comfort zone but it was fun learning him! It's always cool knowing that sometimes the lowest pickrate characters have the most dedicated players that main them :)
i find on some sites harbor can just rush spike plant and pressure the opponents to rush into site( this comes from a harbor main )
a cool thing you can do with harbor to get information is that you can throw out his cove into angles and walk into it right as it finishes coming up. you will be able to see everyone on that angle while staying protected
Your gonna go big one day man I truly believe ❤
The mad world by bisken in the ace montage is soo perfect
epic vid dude
i agree i also have lots of fun playing harbor
Really good video man for a guy who has very little subs. Surprised me you didn’t have more
harbor is amazing to pair with flash peeking. the smoke is flat so enemies can't camp out the flash like dome smokes do (especially clouded dome smokes).
arguably pheonix can do it on his own
I think he's also great to pair with Cypher's trips. they don't have the visibility to destroy the trips, and once they punch out of the wall theyll run into the trip.
as a habror main, the high tide at 4:02 was really good because it gave you a rat spot, improve it to make it smaller and you can be really ratty with corner wals
Yeah, slows are sort of Harbors thing but in terms of Valorant agents, slows aren't as punishing as they seem…
@@clecYT If only his ult detained people instead
Ur so underrated holy. I subbed, I hope to see you hit 100k soon 🫡
man, wp but your crosshair placement was killing me while watching you lmao.
btw, you can watch ludilude to learn how to play him agressively ;3
Harbor is so good for solo queuing, I can cut up the map efficiently and not have to rely on ransoms that don’t communicate, if nobody wants bomb I can give myself a safer plant, and best goatee for site retakes especially if ults up
i remember people were going off about how op the fact his smokes blocked bullets was… yeah… super op that’s why he’s played so much…
I feel like the reason he is so unpopular aside from requiring a lot of teamwork to make use of his abilities the best,is that in my opi ion I feel like his abilities are kinda ..
I think the issue is it's super hard to solo with him. His kit is meant ONLY for team play.
Wait a second, That video was really good but you only have 952 subs. You got one right now🎉
i usually dont sub to people off one video but you are so entertaining and funny bro keep it up :3
bro harbor is so damn good, his util is so fun to use and is good with teamwork, reccommend trying him out.
C - Wall ( use it for taking control on a orb or block the enemy from getting info )
Q - Cove ( use it to block enemy's from shooting you,use it when your cornered, planting and defusing )
E - Wall 7:49
X - Ult ( Use it like a kj ult to take over the site but you can see enemy's spots by the yellow lines on top of them )
Tell me if I said anything about his util wrong :D
Underrated asf can't wait for this guy to become a big valorant creator 🙌🏿🙌🏿. You got a discord server or anything?
No plans on a Discord server right now, but def in the future!
WAIT YOU HAVE 500 subs. HOW this is QUALITY CONTENT
like wtf.
no way u only have 800 subs, such good editing
This channel is a hidden gem
Love the music you use ❤
You should watch a harbor main tbh. Theres a whole lot more he can do. The walls dont have to be conventionally shaped. You can make weird things that let you sneak behind enemies right in front of them.
You can cheeky hide in places they cant find because of his wall. Then you can cove in that wall to kill mutiple ppl without them even knowing where you are. Simply using the wall to just block sightlines is not even exploring its use.
his ability confuses any enemy about our location
as someone who has played more than 800 games with harbor, i would say that the reason he is not picked much is because he has a high skill ceiling which means its gonna be hard to control his high tide without practice, people are unaware of many tricks with harbor and just try to play him like your conventional controller, his cove might seem useless but it has saved me countless times in planting or diffusing the spike, pair it up with gekko wingman and its almost a guaranteed plant, the only buff i would like to see on him is that when enemies push his smokes, their vision will get tunelled( like omen paranoia) for some time in order to add more value to his smoke also it would be really good if we can see the location of his ult on the minimap
"why is harbor unpopular?"
1: harbor has to consider both range and position when deploying smokes.
2: basically a his skills except ult are smokes
The amount of effort and skill and only 600 subs???!??!? I was so surprised!!! 100% subbing
Thank you for this video. Please keep making more
Harbor is genuinely underrated. Yes he needs a buff fs, he’s kinda just a high skill level agent
There’s 2 issues with harbor and why he isn’t picked much:
I love harbor and think he’s good if you play him right but I think he really shines with another controller on your team
Actually a good video, nice man !
great vid bro! ur so underrated
underrated ash keep up
one of my brother's mains is harbour, and bro he plays him so good like everything he picks that, no matter what map (has to be defender tho) he can control the site like almost everytime he stops the team from rushing or just enteringthe site
Harbor strangely feels ok in my hand, he helped me reach diamond. But it's probably because of the map rotation that's why he feels kinda underwhelming. In my experience he does really well on Pearl, Fracture, Split and Breeze.
6:02 It was too hilarious lmao
Genuinely I love harbor. However, I find him pretty unplayable on Breeze and split without another controller (his util is just doesn't fit well on split and defense on breeze is so hard). He is generally pretty fun though. Cove especially, it's a really good multipurpose tool. Can get your team out of choke points, plant the bomb in really open areas, help you defuse, and a bunch of random smaller things.
underated editing is the goat
You"re so underrated man holy sht
