In this video I will demonstrate in detail how to perform a mill using lighter weight clubs, (like 3lb and 5lb clubbells), to train it into your nervous system and prepare for heavy clubs. Let me preface by saying; I’m a guy...With that; I’m only 3 minutes in and found my mind naturally wondering, Why the hell can’t men be this specific and detailed when explaining these motions.🤣🤣🤣...Hands down THE best explanation and detailed instruction on clubbells I’ve seen so far.
check ya, thanks so much. We specialize on empowerment through language and the art of teaching, check out my virtual studio soon at www.flowshala.com
Its a real problem. Here's my theory: Those with a natural kinesthetic intelligence don't need the explanation. They see & do. Mirror neurons or something. The rest of us n3ed it broken down to each detail, & take 6 months to learn a movement that takes them 6 minutes. But they don't know, can't know, what that's like.
Love your teaching style so helpful for beginners
came here thanks to MW, subscribed after watching the 1st minute. what both of your are doing is a service to mankind
Why thank you, I take that as a high compliment. I love what Mark is doing too, and highly respect his work. Get in touch via www.flowshala.com if you want more support with live virtual classes & on demand
@@SummerHuntington sadly, the only mace i could get for the moment due to shortages (and lack of space; i can't get tons of equipment) is a 9kg one (i didn't really have the choice of starting with a lighter one as i should)
the exercises you show on your channel are out of reach for that weight (i weigh 70kg myself) and my level. but as i'm trying to get the basics on without injuries, your explanations and breakdowns of fundamentals are exactly what i need
following your program'll have to wait for some time...
again, a very big thank you
Great thorough Breakdown. One of the best explanations I have see so far. Thank you from South Florida.
Thanks so much!! We'd love to meet you at Flow Shala Virtual, we have intro trials for folks wanting to train with me and my team in person. www.flowshala.com
Excellent breakdown with very clear explanations. Thank you from the UK.
You are so very welcome! Appreciate the feedback, hope to see you in the virtual studio soon :)
Bought my first mace. Since I can easily do an 8kg one hand club bell, I went for a 10kg. What a terrifying beast it is. it's like juggling a fire truck, but I am not sending it back, I am mastering if it takes forever. This channel will help.
The Trinity is complete! Wildman, The Bioneer and Summer Huntington. I have the tools and the teachers, time to get to work.
Heck yea! Come train with me at my virtual studio soon.
You have put the effort into a higher quality video and it shows, audio, lighting, cameras are on point. Technical content is clearly explained in a way that newbies can grasp. Unfortunately to my Dyslexic mind all the terms become bewildering, yet seeing the clearly defined waypoints is very beneficial (I’m a visual learner). It’s funny I almost sheared off the the sprinkler head in my bedroom apartment, my wife kicked me outside (don’t blame her😜). I live in Ohio…it’s 10 degrees F. and dark. Your smile and style gives me hope and for that I thank you. No reply required
Awesome! Yes, that is great to hear. Keep on learning and come find us live at Flow Shala soon !

This is great. I am just getting started with clubs.
I really enjoy your thorough explanation and how you go from simple to complex, and static to flowing movement. Thanks so much! i found you yesterday and subscribed.
Excellent, enjoy! Get a free mini course for Steel Mace at my website www.flowshala.com and let's stay in touch
Thanks for the knowledge having fun with these !
I’m still referencing your videos, perhaps one day I can fly out from Ohio and be part of your classes.
I recommend pivoting the feet while performing the mill.
We recommend finding rotation in the thoracic spine, versus pivoting the feet. Increases mobility and ankle durability.
Great instruction!
Thank you for breaking it down so clearly.
You are welcome! Glad this video is helpful for you, check out www.flowshala.com for live classes with my team!

Your breakdown of the mill is actually better than Mark's. :)
We have slightly different coaching styles, but I highly respect his breakdowns too. lol. Thanks for the compliment.
@@SummerHuntington I love his style too but I am extremely happy I came across with your channel. Especially the mace vinyasa flows. Can't wait to try them over the weekend. :)
Hot stuff. Greatings from Cologne, Germany
Aha! found it.
Great video, found you via wildman, out of interest what make is the blue club your using?
Do you recommend using a 2lb club as a warmup before moving to a mace or can I start out with a light mace (assuming a mace has more uses long term).
So I have been having some issues figuring mills out. I feel like the onnit steel clubs are just a little too short\stubby. Do you think it I could use my 7lb mace instead to work on these?? Just maybe slide my grip up the mace a little bit??
Thanks - Interesting. So, for the club bells 2-3 times per week and how many each session? Maybe 5 each side for a week or two then progress to 10? I think I will start with Indian clubs and progress to the 5lb clubs.
Hey James, I highly recommend our Online Virtual Training to get actual coaching on all of this. We also have an online studio, check out the discount on Kinesiologyoga 101 for smaller clubbells. 86 video tutorials and exercise prescription in there too: www.flowshala.com/onlinestudio
Feel free to reach out to www.flowshala.com/contact too if you have training needs
Do you tend to mostly do mills from outside circle as you demo here? Or also complete from inside circle? I’m just learning and find the mill from inside circle awkward, but from outside feels natural.
I do both inside and outside, however it is true that outside feels more natural due to natural throwing patterns.
Hello, how are you
