For me, I want a real upgrade to the base system and I would rather pay 700 or 750 if the specs justify the price (and mean real improvement for games performance especially, I couldn't care less about resolution above 4K) than a half-assed PS5 Pro that barely shows any improvements.
Even if you get those games, most of them will be developed by activists who despise their own customers and who only care about pushing a silly agenda...
Putting a 8K support on ps5 pro is just for the sake of marketing, nothing else. It's not like people at Sony are sitting there and actually putting some effort into anything related around 8k. They know what they are doing and it takes them zero time and effort to just slap that 8K output there instead of a 4K one. It's just a way to put shiny gold "8K" on the box. I mean it's like you people were blind to the marketing schemes about anything technology related all these years or something.
Since when were game developers being pulled away from their games they were making to go build PS5 pros on the assembly line?... 😂 The pro being made literally has F all to do with game production, the reason this generation is so light on games is a combo of 4 factors. 1- C-vid delayed/cancelled a lot of projects at the start of this generation. 2- As much as people wanna clown the PS4 and Xbox One for being weak, those systems can still pump out great visuals and it REALLY doesn't take alot of effort from Devs to just crank the graphics down a little bit and still sell their game on the older systems that have more people playing on them. The jump from PS4 to PS5 from a technical stand point is a lot less drastic of a jump then it was going from PS3 to PS4 or even the jump from PS2 to PS3. No, your games coming out also on the PS4 IS NOT "holding your games back" it really takes little effort to tone down the textures and shadows a little bit to run the games on the PS4. 3- The economy is in the toilet and people are scared to take risks because we might all get flushed at any moment by a multitude of outside factors. Studios don't wanna take risks now. 4- Better graphics & higher expectations from fans means more work and longer development time for the devs.
8K is pointless. The average eye at tv viewing distance can barely perceive the difference, if at all. It’s higher numbers for the sake of higher numbers
@@michaelmyersplays4992 it’s marketed at a high end audience who will absolutely see right through that BS marketing, it would make much more sense marketing wise and just gameplay wise to market it was a raytracing 4K 60fps machine (which it quite honestly will have an extremely hard time achieving)
Please give us a unlocked frame rate mode for old games like The Evil Within & Bloodborne up to 60fps from 30fps, just like Xbox's frame rate boost mode
Bloodborne can't just play at 60FPS, animations are all made for 30FPS. They would have to remake the whole game to be able to get it to run at 60FPS without weird speedups. The 60FPS mod that exists is not really good and breaks the game.
I'm tired of this push for 4k/8k when all I want is 60+ fps... this generation was so disapointing as most devs seem to be abandoning performance modes in favor of higher quality 30fps, I'm so tired of being locked to this framerate for several generations!
With the acceleration of social media and the rise of the internet. Leaks will continue to happen, you would have to avoid the internet to avoid leaks these days
@user-ye3qn8bj9c it's been this way since the predominance of internet and social media. Which for many is "always". Even back in the 90s and 2000s, gaming magazines and journals still had leaks they'd publish every now and then. You've had more than a decade to come to terms with this.
You need to stop thinking of it as a "leak" and start thinking of it as an "intentional early release to build interest and drive the news cycle". More people will read about it if it is called "leaked info" than would otherwise read about it if it was just a standard release.
They won’t have to worry about demand because there is none. If you haven’t bought a PS5 at this point, you most likely aren’t going to drop this kind of money on a pro version.
I wouldn't expect it to be bigger. PS4 Pro had roughly twice as powerful a GPU. This time it will be just under 50% if the rumoured specs are true. Better upscaling won't make up for that. Especially if it uses frame generation as that really only improves visuals not performance despite the marketing saying it improves performance.
Not really, I played RE4 Remake and it plays at 60fps on the PS4 Pro. The problem is that the PS4 Pro wasn't really utilized as much and only a few developers actually used its capabilities! Same crap is gonna happen with the PS5 Pro, so it is not worth it, same happened with the Xbox One X.

I feel like this is going to be like the ps4 pro when the developers didn't really utilize its capabilities much. Im more exited about the new Nintendo system whenever that gets announce. I feel like SONY should do like a potable system similar to the steam deck and these portable pc that we have in the market. It worked for Nintendo and it might help them in the Japanese market since I heard they love portables. They just have to do one thing don't be greedy.
What they should do is make a portable next gen that is their answer to both the Switch 2 and their version of the Series S. Just make sure it doesn't lack in RAM for that current generation unlike the S. That way they can keep their typical console and have a portable that doesn't suffer from a shortage of games the way the Vita did.
Idk, 5 years ago 4k was a pipe dream on high end pcs. Now we can run tons of games 4k 60 easily and many many games 4k 120 or higher. Probably will be the same for 8k in another 4-5 years.
9:44 - Having a "Pro" model also offers benefits that are not reflected by sales numbers. Not only can you release "Actual Gameplay" trailers/videos that looks significantly better, you also incentivizes developers to make plenty of "Upgraded" content that will be available Day-1 on PS6 for the approximately 90% of PS5 owners who have the standard version. The latter becoming increasingly important as development time/cost rises and less AAA-titles are released exclusively for Next-Gen consoles at launch!
Yea, lol, its an awful trend, but this often how the PC space moves with high-end gaming for triple A releases. If its indie studios, they tend to optimize in the middle or base hardware... But gta6, and Sony pro console, yea... they will optimize to draw every ounce out of ps5 pro, and by that, dragging the base model along with a rope.
@@SolarErazerand the ps5 is plenty capable. Everyone just forgot or can’t understand that the ps5 was created for more technology rather than beefy hardware. But no game today makes good use of these technologies. Don’t believe me? Go try and find one game that performs better on DX12 rather than DX11. DX12 was created for the support of these revolutionary technologies. What are these technologies? They are virtualized geometry and textures. Which means if truly virtualized, a game could have infinite graphical possibilities to only be held back by budget. Crazy right? So far this tech isn’t fully developed yet but it’s crazy that it’s already been introduced in UE5, called nanite. Nancy still has its flaws but that will obviously change in time.

Just look at FF7 rebirth. Poor square couldn’t get the game’s graphical performance to look good when enabling better FPS, clearly the PS5 is too weak to run such a graphically intensive game. Of course it has nothing to do with publisher/developer incompetence. [sarcasm]

A 2nd PS5 launch? Would it be cheaper or more expensive than the original? Would game developers be able to take advantage of the faster hardware? Would it save time on developing times to be shorter?
Knowing Sony, they will definitely push a higher price tag. Because of its "upgraded" features Back when the original PS5 was being discussed on its capabilities. The Nvme was being touted for what they wanted. At the time it was also pricey. Eventually affordable If current games are in development. They must be utilizing more resources to push the capabilities of either version of the system Development time for most games has taken 4 to 5 years as is.
Too soon. There’s also currently no PS exclusive that I’m waiting for. God of War Ragnarok was the last. But I’d probably buy it because I love consoles.
Sony is literally dragging everything about their game division as long as they can paying for hype… cause they have 0 first party games this year and most of next…. This is pathetic there is no point of getting a pro .
If you count the 7 remakes of remakes, directors cuts, and let's use the same assets but slap a new number on it, than you would maybe reach the 20 games yes . @petebagwell6666 ps is only doing well because of guys like you. How the world would be if people were less loyal to a corporation.
Yes they are... Consol gamers I swear bruv... You guys have games, just because the games are also coming out on PS4 doesn't mean the 5 isn't being utilized to it's "full potential" as some console gamers like to say.... Y'all do realize that the PS5 isn't that drastic of a leap above the PS4, they run the same underlying architecture, so it REALLY doesn't take much effort from the devs to turn textures and shadows down a bit to run on the 4... The difference between the PS4 and PS5 is substantially different from the jump between the PS3 and PS4 or even the jump we had from PS2 to PS3, those were way more drastic of an upgrade for developers... I'm a PC gamer, I dabbled in development, and I see console fans and even UA-camrs like this say this stuff all the time and it's simply not true.... The real reason games are "being held back" and still coming out on the PS4 is because the PS4 and PS5 run on AMD architecture which means they run like PC's. They can be scaled up and down like PC's, the PS4 is capable of hitting 1080P gaming.... Just like a PC port there's no reason a game can't run on lower graphical settings for the 4 and be EASILY scaled up for the 5. The truth is the PS4 and Xbox One are just strong enough to no longer be 100% invalidated by the new systems, especially when you consider there's over 100 millions PS4's in the wild to sell their games to. If you ever played a PC game you'll know there are settings for how high of a quality you want the resolution, textures, shadows, render distance.... Literally ALL OF THAT can easily be turned up or down by developers on the back end for a PS4, PS5, or PS5 pro version of the same game. Just like they can be altered for a 600$ PC that can do 1080P gaming on low settings or a 5,000$ PC that can do 4-8K at Ultra settings that the PS5 and series X can't even hit on their visual modes.
Times are tough. I can see this not selling very well unless you are rich or don't even have a PS5 yet. I don't even have a PS5 yet, so I might get it.
With the backlog of games I have I still find it hard to justify going from the PS4 to the PS5 so even the PS5 pro still feels kinda like “meh not sure”
I have a ps4 pro and I feel there's no reason for the ps5 all the games I cn play on the ps4 pro on my 4k TV and the ps5 has almost ben out for 5 years the only reason I'm evan considering a ps5 is for hell divers 2 and still that's like 600$ just to play 1 game doesn't feel worth it but I'm sure people will have no problem buying the next model for gta6 lmao
Heaven forbid game developers optimize their games instead of waiting for the console/PC hardware makers having to brute force the game to look and run decently. The gaming industry needs to go through another crash. It's necessary at this point.
I have no respect for companies talking about 8k when they can't even currently give you 4k@60. I got fed up with these new consoles not giving us 4k@60 so I sold my ps5 & series X & bought a pc that does give me 4k@60+. I got sick of there lies.
It’s not that they can’t do 4k60. They obviously can but the developers want to reach a certain quality in graphical fidelity. Which requires them to lower fps.
@@balloonb0y677 Always excuses. Honestly, the more powerful these consoles have gotten, the lazier developers became with optimization. No longer do we have clever tricks to optimize games. It's all just "throw as much as you can on screen, whether or not it runs well".
No thanks, just optimize games better - Between the greed, the forced inclusion, the forced diversity, and games launching in worse and worse quality, this may be the last generation of gaming for me
This is so ridiculous ps5 barley has any exclusives and no one uses 8k plus they said the base ps5 would do 4k 60 so what’s stopping them from saying the same thing with the pro version then in reality it can’t do that
It was the exclusives that drew me into certain consoles over others. What turned me off from modern gaming was the excessive amounts of patching with games launching underdeveloped, riddled with micro transactions, pay to play gameplay mechanics, on disc locked content and features behind paywalls, always online connection requirements for certain features and functions of certain games etc..all these shady marketing pratices. I refuse to back modern gaming anymore and won't until serious changes happen.
Good Vid Jon(SW). All these Specs are a Game by Game basis, cuz they all Run differently. All I am worried about is, can the PS5 Pro Run all Games at a Solid 4K 60fps in all Modes, 8K I'm not too fussed about right now. It's gonna be how much (Pricing) and how it Runs Games Overall, that'll get me getting one but knowing me I'll probably get one Day One lol, all tho I didn't get a PS4 Pro.
I knew a Pro was inevitable, but I was not expecting that most new games were going to force me to choose between graphics and framerate stability so damn often. And now that the pro exists there's likely no reason for devs to try and give me both on my hardware.
I haven't bought a PS5 yet, just for this reason. I figured there'd be a Pro and this one actually sounds exciting, it has a lot of new tech in it. I know most of it won't get used in games outside of maybe first party, but that's enough to get me to finally buy in.
The fact that consoles started chasing resolution over frame rate/visual quality is irritating. We went from 240p for decades to 480i for about a decade and then it was just chasing resolution after we moved away from CRT TV's. 480p, 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4K. Make frame rates stable and then focus on quality, and if there's still power left then shoot for higher resolutions.
The idea of a PS5 Pro just seems like a waste of time to me. We haven't even left the PS4 behind yet. Most games still get a last gen version, and we want a more powerful system this generation? It just seems very strange to want a Pro system given the fact that the last gen system is still going strong with new releases. Last generation, we got Pro systems because the base consoles launched underpowered, and the Pro systems brought them up to a more competitive level. The current gen consoles were not underpowered at launch (aside from the Series S), so the problem the mid gen refresh consoles fixed last generation doesn't exist this generation so there isn't much of a point, especially if it's going to be more than $500, Sony have learned their lesson and I don't think they would ever launch a console at the $600 price point again. There is also the point that many people have brought up; nobody has 8K TV's, they aren't mainstream and aren't being adopted by th4 mainstream anywhere near as much as 4K was when the PS4 Pro came out. The demand for 8K isn't there for the majority of people, and at the end of the day, the casual majority drive the industry as they are the biggest market for consoles and console games, the enthusiasts are only a small portion of the market, if we, the enthusiasts, got what we wanted all the time, physical media wouldn't be in decline right now. I'd be very surprised if we saw a PS5 Pro come out.
I really don't care about 8K yet. But I do like the idea of running games at 4K 120FPS with some raytracing like I currently do on my 3 year old RTX 3080 PC with DLSS On. And 4K 60 FPS with DLSS Off.
I think as games get more advanced and longer to make the more I’m distancing myself from the hobby. Just seeing the budgets for them is a nightmare to because I know the big execs will be pushing more and more for things with bigger returns such as live service games and high dollar cosmetics
The ridiculously increased development time also has pretty much ruined finding new IPs, especially ones with a story arc which stretches over several installments. For example, when the first Uncharted game was released, the sequel was released within a couple of years and yet it still offered significant innovation. Another great example is GTA III, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas, which were all released within a 4 year window... Nowadays you either in for something like a 7-10 year long wait, or wait 2-3 years for a "sequel" that extremely similar to the previous game!
i already have the ps5 disc version when it first came out, with 1tb ssd installed. still works fine, no need to get the pro unless your current ps5 is broke and can't be fixed

I acknowledge that I am fortunate to be able to afford it, however, there is a base PS5 people can buy if that's more their budget. For me, I want a real upgrade to the base system and I would rather pay 700 or 750 if the specs justify the price (and mean real improvement for games performance especially, I couldn't care less about resolution above 4K) than a half-assed PS5 Pro that barely shows any improvements.
I dunno why you think there's no exclusives on ps, there's like 30 to 40 exclusives as apposed to xbox's like 5
Even if you get those games, most of them will be developed by activists who despise their own customers and who only care about pushing a silly agenda...
We need them thank you.
Sony: It's been 4 years let's make a PS5 Pro.
Consumers "still waiting for Sony to make any PS5 games"
Can we make 4k 60fps the standard for all PS5 games before we think of jumping to 8k? This is ridiculous
Ps5 hardware can’t do 4k 60 that’s why ps5 pro will come with PlayStation implement of dlss
I really don’t care about how powerful the hardware is if the devs can’t put out games for it.
We don't need this ... we need Games !!! ...
Since when were game developers being pulled away from their games they were making to go build PS5 pros on the assembly line?... 😂
The pro being made literally has F all to do with game production, the reason this generation is so light on games is a combo of 4 factors.

Please give us a unlocked frame rate mode for old games like The Evil Within & Bloodborne up to 60fps from 30fps, just like Xbox's frame rate boost mode
Bloodborne's a bit more complicated than just flipping a switch.
Bloodborne can't just play at 60FPS, animations are all made for 30FPS. They would have to remake the whole game to be able to get it to run at 60FPS without weird speedups. The 60FPS mod that exists is not really good and breaks the game.

It worked for Nintendo and it might help them in the Japanese market since I heard they love portables. They just have to do one thing don't be greedy.
What they should do is make a portable next gen that is their answer to both the Switch 2 and their version of the Series S.
We’re getting a bigass consoles with big ass software development but getting no games so what exactly is the point for hype
If the game cant run at at 60 then it’s probably the developers fault for not correctly optimizing.

Don't understand this people, who say there aren't enough games to play, I still game on my ps4 and I have enough games to last me till the ps6.

The idea that we may get a power-upgraded PS5 before a power-upgraded Switch is extremely funny to me but probably infuriating for devs
Why would you need all those specs when you don't have games?
It was the exclusives that drew me into certain consoles over others. What turned me off from modern gaming was the excessive amounts of patching with games launching underdeveloped, riddled with micro transactions, pay to play gameplay mechanics, on disc locked content and features behind paywalls, always online connection requirements for certain features and functions of certain games etc..all these shady marketing pratices. I refuse to back modern gaming anymore and won't until serious changes happen.

It's gonna be how much (Pricing) and how it Runs Games Overall, that'll get me getting one but knowing me I'll probably get one Day One lol, all tho I didn't get a PS4 Pro.
So ps5 pro will release before the switch 2....

@@nadavrot I agree, or at least the base ps5 version games will run very blurry with tons of fsr that will look a lot worse than a.i. upscaling.
