@@wapwothefetty2569 Definitely this. I've often been told my voice sounds like Jim Adkins, so I recently started recording a cover of Lucky Denver Mint. I've done about a million vocal takes and I can't get anything that sounds even remotely good. The jealousy is real 😆
@@NickFixHC to the commenter asking me the meaning of the song I appreciate you taking the time to inquire in a civil manner from some of the meanings I gathered on this incredible song part of the meaning symbolizes unrequited love the opposite of passionate mutual attraction between two consenting people though I intuitively understand this original song could also harbor other meanings
Jim Adkins is an insanely talented, yet humble musician. Part of me wishes more people appreciated this kind of talent, but it’s obvious that he (and the rest of the band) really doesn’t care who likes the music. He is doing what he loves. Nothing more, nothing less.
@@ericmsandoval JEWs haha I never noticed that haha. But yeah they are pretty awful. That band Lit does country now which is hilarious. I guess I would say sum 41 has stayed true to their sound this whole time even tho I'm not really into them.
I love every kind of music there is, I've heard and seen alot. This here, solid childhood classic.. it's getting better with time.. I had to come bac and jam to it one time, two times maybe 1000. That's how good this shit is
Listening to this reminds me back my childhood in early 2000.... What a an amazing memories we have in that century year. If you're born in 80s and 90s your childhood is amazing
This is what you get when you give a shit about your music and fans, an excellent live performance. The top 3 bands (of today) I've seen live are Jimmy Eat World, Enter Shikari, and oddly enough Panic at the Disco (even though I'm not a fan of PATD)
Dude. Panic at the disco literally couldn’t play their music live bc they were out together by a record label. Lmao. Maybe they’ve gotten better but they were awful for years. And I’ve heard their lead singer live and he’s not one I would say is excellent live.
Damn, it is a really powerful and cool performance. Dynamic, melodic and so graceful experience of listening to their musical stuff! Just my applause! 😁
I remember in 5th grade back in 2002 my teacher was playing bleed America when I went in to talk to him about something during lunch. I was like “you like jimmy eat world?!” And he goes “I love them!!! I went to highschool with them and im friends with Zach the drummer and Jim the singer!” I couldn’t believe it haha he’s like yeah they went to Mountain View highschool Mesa Arizona where I’m from and went to school
Funny enough. The song was written during the clarity album but didn't quite make it through in time. It was included in the deluxe reprint and it slightly different in parts. Check it out.
You need to look up the Foo Fighters and the Rocking 1,000. One thousand Italians came together to play Learn to Fly in a field, as an effort to get the Foo Fighters to come to a city called Cesena in Italy (and that video is probably my favorite video on the internet). The Foo Fighters did indeed come to play for everyone who showed up in the first video. That video is also really cool, but nothing compares to the Italians all playing the song together.
+teebird11 You realise pitch is different than volume right? He doesn't *have* to sing higher pitched. It's just that's how he sings and it still sounds good, it was changed so that it sounded good on radio since radio kinda takes away from the song.
teebird11 Again, pitch doesn't = volume. In fact if you were to sing to a large crowd of people, it'd be better to sing in a lower pitch because lower pitches travel much more easily than higher pitches, thus it'll reach people far back in the audience a lot easier.
to hit those pitches easier he sings more in his higher register I'd assume. on the record he's pushing hard to get that in your face effect. thus is just an assumption.
It sucks how many people never did a deep dive into them just because the middle put em on the bigger map. The middle is a fine song, but it legit constrains how good jimmy eat world can be..
I’ll be the first to admit I’m a total music snob being a fan of prog more than anything else. That being said if you look up in the dictionary how to write and perform a good 4 chord song you’d find these guys. So simple yet so satisfying and enjoyable
Jimmy ATE
Damn they sound great live, a lot of bands dont live up to it live but they did really well. And that crowd was fucking insanely hyped.
Nyxato it's got to be a hell of a feeling to know you can influence a crowd to react to you like that. Amazing.
Nyxato couldn't have said it better
Sorta jealous of how well he can sing
Reading or Leeds is on my bucket list…best crowds

Does anyone remember when Reading and Leeds always used to be a rock festival? The lineups these days are shocking compared to the 2010s.
I love how on point his vocals are live too. You can tell he practices to be this consistently good.
agreed
Couldn’t agree more!!
that epic little breakdown piece at 3:11 is so much yes
Sweetness by Jimmy Eat World is definitely still a spectacular sounding rock song despite the serious meanings of this particular song.
always considered this song to be a punk one not a rock one but whatever, it's one of the greatest song I've heard in my entire 33y life

I can't believe that this band is barely 1 year older than blinks age has made a huge difference but jimmy eat world sounds even better!
Colin Getz because Jim is a much better singer than Mark and Tom.

Pure joy at 0:20. Love that guy.
most underrated band in the world
most modern emo bands are influenced by them

The sweetness will not be concerned with me.
Fancy seeing you here
This performance is seriously phenomenal. Just wow! So good!
Woah ah oh ah oh!
Still to this day 🤙🏻

It’s super rare to have him in your concert ngl
We finally found Waldo!
It's crazy I only heard this song last week for the first time now I play it every day whoa whoa 🎸🤣
One hell of a talented band. I'm not sure who primarily writes the songs (I'm guessing the singer), but they're VERY good.
This song has made me inexplicably cry since 2003. It does something to my soul.
What a beautiful performance, the way everyone just came together was amazing.
This is the first time I've seen them perform a song live. OMFG, they are amazing. One my fave songs of all time!!!!!!!!🎸
I love how a simple song and unique strong voice is just amazing...especially live
Jimmy eat world is one of those bands that ALWAYS sounds amazing live.
They are a lot better than a lot of the other bands in their lane. They’ve held up much better than Blink 182
Very very true. Although I would say JEW’s newer songs are awful in comparison to their older albums.

I've watched probably every live version of this on youtube and this is
imo the best one on here.

The power of a great pop song. So good live too
This song is so cool for us cause it takes us back to where shit was do simple.. like skateboarding and hanging out being young and careless
"Sinking into sweet uncertainty."

Soooo good live!!! True artist!!!!
To this day I still ask, WHY was Jimmy so HUNGRY?
Because this level of talent leaves you ravenous for the SWEETNESS
HAHAHAHAHAHA. you guys probably wont believe me, but that wally is me :)
That was dope 😊
This takes me back to middle school. Aged like fine wine
love england they appreciate all types of music and enjoy it!!!
Love this song. Also, its cool that they show the side musician, female keyboardist too.
Conspiracy theory joke 101: Jimmy is being held gunpoint and being forced to give a 200% every performance.
This is amazing live!!!!
I just love these great moments on stage. Bruce Springsteen where he brought his mother and sister out, that was another one. Anyone got any others?
MGMT when they did Glastonbury I think. That was another good one.
