Thank you very much. Clear and concise, i finally got an ok result! Now i got a base to work from
Thanks! Happy grading :) :)
Amazing explanation ! Thank you so much.
You are welcome! Glad to help :) :)
I've just upgraded my M50 to a Lumix S5II. I'd no idea it was going to be like starting over in terms of colouring. Brilliant video Jason, very thorough and well-paced.
Thanks - that's great to hear - good luck with the new camera :) :)
Really nice video Jason. I think this is the first time I see someone making this type of approach in the color page grading log footage.
Thanks a lot - glad it was useful :)
Thanks for such clarity in your explanations. Great video.
You're so welcome - glad it was helpful! :) :)
Excellent: clear, concise and very useful - thank you.
You're so welcome Mike - glad to help :)
Like everyone else is saying, great explanation. Thank you!
Thankyou so much - glad it was helpful! :) :)
Great explanation for someone trying to make sense of using resolve for colouring! Looking forward to using this in my next project! Would you be able to use a LUT in this process during the creative steps between the technical nodes? If so does it matter where in the chain the LUT would be placed?
You can absolutely use LUTs but you need to be aware of what input the lut is expecting - if it is designed to work with rec.709 you would need to put it after the conversion to rec.709
Thanks so much for this tutorial. One thing I cannot grasp though is if your timeline is already in "DaVinci WG/Intermediate" as set in Project Settings, Colour Management. Why then do you have to add a CST at the beginning of the node tree effectively doing the same. Is it not the same as just putting a single CST at the end of the node tree with a setting of Input Colour Space S-Gamut3.Cine, Input Gamma SLog 3 and then Outputting to Rec709 etc. I hope this makes sense. Thanks.
Thanks for the vid. Constructive feedback: sound of vid is way behind the quality of the content and image. Maybe work on stopping all the sound reflections.
Thanks :) Yeah I've been working hard on getting the studio sounding better in more recent videos!
@@JasonRobertsVideo Great stuff, best of luck with the channel!
Thankyou so much - I really appreciate those kind words :)
Hello Jason, thanks a lot for this. Is this main settings set up applicable to any device? I mean DJI mini 3 or DSL camera or OSMO POCKET, for example? And then you change it according to the device used in the transform function, right? thanks a lot :)
Hi, no problem, yes you're absolutely correct - change the input CST to match you camera :) :) - I might do a more in depth tutorial on this workflow if you think that would be useful?
@@JasonRobertsVideo Thank you so much for replying, Jason. I watched the other video that you mentioned about the workflow at the end of this one, and it was great as well. But I don't understand what's the difference between the two editing processes and when to use which one. Thanks a lot for clarifying.🙏
You're welcome - I think for beginners the color managed approach is simpler to get started with but the CST approach is more "obvious" as to what's happening - I sue the color managed approach 99% of the time but I am playing with a new tool that requires a CST approach that I'll be making a video on soon :) :)
@@JasonRobertsVideo thanks a lot
No worries :) :)
