Ooo 100% she was always my favorite because of how effortlessly she played Glinda borderline. Which I know can be a bit iffy but hear me out the funniest moments for her are the ones where she’s in one mood and at the drop of a hat switches to the complete opposite and then back. Megan does this flawlessly. The only other one I’ve seen come close here is Ali Mauzey she’s also a very UP and DOWN Glinda and it’s fantastic
Megan's vocal range is just unreal! Singing the higher Galinda role and then singing the throatier, deeper Patsy Cline songs in the tv movie. She's just amazing!!
The thing with her is, that she can play over the top but you can also see the depth of how she studied the character in her honest moments and songs later on.
I know we say Kristen Chenoweth is the Glinda blueprint cause she’s the OG but Megan is just who I think of when I think about Glinda in Wicked. Megan Hilty has and always will be the blueprint 🙌
Megan Hilty was my Glinda. I remember she did this hilarious gag with the hair toss where she coached her Elphaba to do it over & over, then without her hands over & over.
Megan Hilty is a phenomenal talent, and I've loved her in everything I've seen except Wicked. She wasn't bad. It's just that she's SO valuptuous, sexy, and womanly that she doesn't come off as a convincing, perky Kristen Chenoweth / Reese Witherspoon type 18-year-old college girl. She oozes sexiness and sophistication instead. That's not a bad thing. She was just miscast to me.
Respectfully, Chenoweth looked 35 on her first day & was rigid physically. Vocally she’s an absolute legend though. Plus time is supposed to elapse during the show and Glinda/Elphie grow to be adults. Megan was THE Glinda that made the rest of the actresses that followed take way more liberties with Glinda’s comedy.
@@JaceRev Uncomfortable? It seems it has triggered something in you. While saying she was miscast, the comment is a compliment to Hilty by recognizing her as a beautiful and sophisticated woman. Like all actors, she has a "type", and it's definitely not as an ingenue. Right now, she's perfectly cast as a successful, mature novelist in the musical, Death Becomes Her. She can't play a perky co-ed convincingly, but that's not a bad thing. All actors have their type. No one will ever cast Kristen Chenoweth as Rose in Gypsy for the same reason. Chenoweth has loads of talent, but that role isn't for her type. Not all actors can play all roles.
stop this is hilarious i love her so much
Megan being my favourite Glinda💚
lol she’s my second or third cousin I think I’ve met her before a couple times and she signed my guitar she’s so cool
@
WAIT WHHHHAAAAAAAT?!!!
@RosieTheWickedFangirl2007yeah maybe even closer cousin lol super sweet and nice
The perfect Glinda can switch from funny to serious effortlessly

Her Glinda is such a little gremlin lmfao

Same here. She is my favorite Glinda. Too bad she wasn’t in the recent movie with Cyinthia
@@raisaknusel arguably, she's aged out. She was beyond flawless in the last B'way "Noises Off" revival. She is a genius.
enjoy her in Death Becomes Her instead. the glinda-to-meryl streep pipeline is an amazing uh...golden brick road
@ oh she is DIVINE as Madeline in Death Becomes Her! So good to have her back on broadway!
Megan is a goddess I’m so glad “Smash!” Introduced me to her
Megan Hilty was my Glinda. I remember she did this hilarious gag with the hair toss where she coached her Elphaba to do it over & over, then without her hands over & over.
I'm proud to say she was my first live Glinda 💕
Me too! Saw her in LA 😭
I’ve met her a couple times she signed my guitar she’s my cousin lol
Mine too! ❤
Same!!!
Me, too.
I love unhinged Galinda 😂😂😂😂
I think she’s a few steps above “unhinged”
Not her breaking elphie the first second😂
I've seen Wicked so many times and Megan is the best Galinda ever.
My favorite Glinda ever
Megan Hilty is fucking hilarious haha my favorite Glinda by a wide margin
IKRRR she’s my third or second cousin she’s so sweet
Megan was the best.
She is so funny
2:52 the song starts
I know this is kind of random to say, Megan Hilty would be one of my top 3 actress castings to play Anna Nicole Smith
she’s like the anne boleyn of wicked
Out of context this comment is WILD lol
Now I really want to see Anne and Galinda meet.

This entire comment is so uncomfortable

@@jerryoxo They grow to be adults, not middle-aged women. You're an adult at 18 and a fully legal adult at 21. Hilty comes off as 35+.
@@L1623VPand as I said in my comment Chenoweth looks 35 from the moment she shows up & 60 by the time the curtain falls.
her signing skills are impressive, but not her acting and nonverbal communication.
Yeah. Glinda is supposed to be a bubbly doofus. Like SpongeBob SquarePants. That is NOT what Ariana Grande was.
different people have different takes on the same character, that’s what makes it fun
I feel bringing the character more down to earth when translating to the screen added more depth to the story itself
Thats the difference between on screen and on stage. Stage play are more dramatic and out there while screen films are more serious and down to earth
She's doing a little too much for here. Like girl sing the damn song too rather than do all the damn theatrics.
This number is supposed to be too much though. It's meant to show the chaotic side of glinda
Thats literally the best part you are no fun
You know nothing
Something tells me Anna Nicole Smith would have made an amazing glinda 😥🩷🩷🩷💖🌸
That's EXACTLY who I just thought of too with this vid 🤯
