Great video. Thanks, l just finished replacing my old original radiator with a Champion 3 row. My truck is a swb 69 f-100 6 cyl. Champion doesn't make one for a 6yl. So they modified one , a 390 3row for my truck. They plugged up the bottom (outlet) on driver side and put it on passenger side. It bolted right on. I prayed before l started the job. All the holes lined up perfectly and the shroud was the same distance all around the fan. It is a very well constructed radiator. I had only 2 issues and l was to blame : when l filled it with water, l felt water on my tennis shoe. fearing a bad weld l was afraid to look down, because of all the work to replace. Sure enough there was a leak at petcock, oh no, l thought. That day was 109 degrees, very hot and tired l got underneath and found the petcock was loose. I tightened it. Problem #1 solved. Next issue was trans. Line fitting leaking ,again the fitting wasn't tight enough. I tightened it , problem #2 solved. I thanked God for Champion co. It is a very well designed heavy gauge aluminum rad. and the welding is very good. I also installed a trans. cooler from an f-250 on it. The only true issues l had were the heat and having to do everything by myself , pulling out the old heavy radiator, and putting in the Champion by myself, being very careful to not damage it. But it was worth it. My truck engine and trans. run about 30 degrees cooler, even if it's just sitting. I'm a very well satisfied customer. God bless.
Hi there, just watched your video, excellent!! I got more info from you than I did from Champion. I have a 68 Galaxie 500 conv with 302 that I bought the Champion radiator for. I had to remove it because I could not get the existing fan shroud and fan to line up, even with some custom brackets I made. So I was asking Champion about their fans and shroud. They said there is not a picture of the shroud or what the 2 fans installed looked like, so that was odd and disappointing... So I am glad you did the video so I now know what it looks like. The shroud is not what I expected.... My questions: They said I can get the 2 fan setup but only need 1 wiring relay set because she said you daisy chain the 2 fans together. You got 2 wiring sets, so I do I need to buy 2 instead? and A year ago young111984 said to cut holes and add flaps for more air flow. Did you do that? or have you noticed air restriction if you didn't cut the holes? Thanks a lot!
Do yourself a favor on those big blank spots above and below the fans, cut some holes and pop rivet rubber flaps over them. When at higher speeds the small 12’ fans can restrict airflow thru that big of a core and the flaps will open to allow all the air thru, when sitting still and the fans activate they will pull against the holes to pull only thru the radiator. Most all factory cooling fans have either rubber or plastic flaps for this reason.
Any chance you could film it with the fans on? I really like my 3 core Champion with my 5.0, but I'm not happy with the dual fan Deale setup I using, they sound like a weed wacker.
@@FordF100World I'm using the 4000cfm dual 13" Derale fans thar came mounted on a shroud. I'm using a variable speed controller so they initially come on at 60% which makes the more tolerable than at 100%, but still loud. They cool very well, but the van noise is not cool.
I bought the one with ORB to use AN adapters. ORB fittings were warped by some Chinese welder I suppose. Bought the tap off eBay so just beware of no real quality control in some aspects. I guess I could have returned it , but I just fixed it and hope for the best. Not much of a bargain.

Got the same set up in my 68. I love it. Temp never goes above 190.
Paul Medlicott awesome 😎👍🏼
Are those electric fans?
Yep
I'm having trouble finding a place to hook up the ignition wire. I have a 74 Barracuda. Any suggestions?
Ignition wire? I’m relation to the cooling fans?
@@FordF100World yes, it would have been good to say that. I've been typing in so many threads.
The install using 3 shots was very cool sir
Chris dirtytrucker08 Lol hey Thankyou random citizen 😜👍🏼

young11984 that’s some good advice 😎👍🏼
What drill bit size did you use ? What bolt size ? For the holes
On which part?

Running? No I have it out for an engine swap. Buts not that loud 👍🏼 what brand are your fans from? Champion?

Hi Craig,
How easy are the fans to wire up, I've got the same set up going in with my 460 soon.
Easy peasy, 2 wire set up. Red and black. Already with spade connectors.
Richard Baker if memory serves u can reverse the wires to reverse the fan
Nice truck. I’m just getting ready to throw a champion in my 76 f250. Hey what kind of air cleaner is that?
Hey thx, yeah it’s called a velocity stack

I just wish champion made radiators that were less square and boxy. my car is a 1962, its got curves not squares!
Check out their radiators for performance racing. They’ve got some funky chapped radiators 👍🏼
