Happy New Year to you, too!
wow I have been crocheting about 4 years and this is the first time I understood the difference! I was always doing yarn under!
Oh, good! I'm glad I could teach you something!
This is the best video explaining yarn under vs yarn over. I've had such a hard time telling them apart and I'm still figuring it out but this really helped me so much! Thank you 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Amen! Finally I see it and now see how it’s done. Thank you
Glad I could help!
The right to left thing helped me SO much my goodness I've been confused for so long but now i know! I thought yarn over was when the yarn went from bottom right to top left!!! Been mixing that up for years!!! No wonder i was always so dissatisfied with my patterns!! Thank you so so so so sooooo much!!
Glad I could help!
Thank you. This was a very clear explanation and gave me my "oh" realization. It helped a lot!!
Yay! Glad I could help!
Great closeup views of your tutorial. With teaching videos, it's important to have the ability to zoom in real close with the correct camera angles. Also, the pace you go at is very helpful. Slow enough to learn from, yet fast enough to keep things moving along. Thsnks!
Thank you! Please subscribe and tell your friends!
This explains my issue so well! Thank you!

Thank you so much for this tutorial. It was like a light bulb going on in my head.
Glad it helped!
Thank You for this clear explanation, I just read a pattern where it called for yarn under sc and I was so confused 😃
Glad I could help! Good luck with your pattern.
Interesting. Thank you. I am left-handed, but I look at either instructions. So far so good.
There's a left-handed video, also. Did you see that one? ua-cam.com/video/RQaRmXaKgnM/v-deo.html
@@EdieEckman not yet. I will check it out.
Thanks for clarification. I’ve heard about this so many times and I really don’t know what’s the difference. I’m a newbie crocheter.
Glad it was helpful. I made it especially for people like you, who don't even realize there is a difference.
I don’t understand the difference still
I always did under... because it's all I did... my right hand doesn't really allow me to do over
Did you know you were doing yarn under, or did you just discover it when you watched the video? ;-)
I didn't know and didn't really care "before I watched" I just did what was conformable
And I still just do under... but now I know the difference
I always yarn over but I don’t think it is nice to tell people who yarn under that they are doing it wrong ! To be honest I thought that the twisted stitches at the base of the double crochets matched the rest of the stitch and looked rather good! But I will stick with the yarn overs as that is in my muscle memory. Thank you for the interesting video.
I try not to tell people they are "wrong", but I think it's important to know the difference and to understand that untwisted stitches are the commonly accepted standard (in the US, at least). It should be a choice for the crocheter to make, as long as they are informed.
Can you say it in one short sentence
If you do a yarn under your stitch will be twisted at its base.
