All this happened because one Zeon pilot Gene wanted to get the glory and end up taken out by Amuro Ray who pilot the RX-78-2 Gundam for the first time.

I'm really frustrated that even today we made the same mistakes the UC folk did, we dehumanised others so hard that we improved our technology just to start petty wars against them. We claim not to want to hurt civilians when most victims are what I hear on the news: Civilians. Gundam is a super cautionary tale, if we can listen and understand then we can remember what our stupid petty hatred and fear truly is capable of. Hashire Gundam! Towards a war-less future!

When i was a kid im so excited with the robot fight, colorfull explosion and beam saber. But today when i revisited Gundam my feeling change to sad and despair seeing soo many casuality because of war...
Gundam era qualcosa di davvero differente dagli altri robot anime, a volte cupo e perfino crudamente violento. Poi era inusuale che (almeno per i miei gusti) i robot nemici avevano un design più figo dello stesso Gundam!
Erano gli anni d'oro di "Tomino il macellaio", con Zanbot prima e Ideon (e tanti altri) dopo. Sui design dei ms di Zeon va detto peró che nella seconda metà ne hanno inseriti tanti di "giocattolosi" che secondo me stonano troppo, e infatti sono stati poi rimossi in parte nella trilogia cinematografica (purtroppo non hanno potuto togliere lo Zeong, l'ho sempre odiato).
i would kill for a remake that combines the good parts of the original (the style, great voice acting, iconic ost and sfx, and keeping cucuruz doan’s island) and the origin (adding more ms in whitebase for more action, giving unremarkable characters more spotlights, and some good changes from the original like showing the prototype gundam (i dont like the yellow colors though)) and maybe not make amuro too much of an ass to fraw

The final episodes were aired on Toonami's "New Year's Evil" block as far as I remember.
