Thank you for a professional in depth review you are the only person that actually talked about the D-Pad and motion of the analog sticks so this was very helpful I don't know why other reviewers never talked about this at all.
If these had Rumble, Motion and if they could power the Switch. I would honestly never go back to using a Joy-Con ever again. My favorite thing about these is that they truly make playing in handheld way more comfortable and fun. I often prefer the OLED screen on the Switch and I can play for hours with no wrist pain compared to the standard joy-con. I really hope Nintendo incorporates some of the the split pad compact's design into the next standard Switch controller
I didn't realize that Hori stopped selling the attachment separately. That's a bummer since you shouldn't have to buy another set simply to use the controller wired
Just bought them on a trip to Tokyo since they felt good in the shop, looked great, had a great price and I was curious about the extra buttons (especially the FR / FL in the back). Since I am not yet home, I looked at your review to see what to look for. Have you tried the extra buttons in the back? What are your thoughts? They look more comfortable than the Z…
Glad to help! I'm not a huge user of back buttons on Switch controllers, tbh. However, I appreciate that they have a decent level of resistance to them, which make them feel purposeful to press. The way they're molded into the grip also makes them really comfortable to squeeze when they're needed. If Hori had removed them, I probably wouldn't have minded, but they feel much better to use than on many other Switch controllers I've tested.
I got the gray and baby doo yellow set on sale for like 33$ and tbh they make red dead redemption and games like meteoid so much more good feeling to play
I love the Hori splitpad compact more than the nitrodeck and even the nyxi Hyperion pro and yes the mobapad m6 HDS are great ofc but it’s not on Amazon but I do have the moba Chitu HD
These controllers were mend for handheld only. So the negative point for battery for using dock is kinda far fetched. I love them so muhc and use them every day.
The D-pad is not a vestigial organ for me. I need a strong D-pad for arcade games and fighting games, and it sounds like the Hori Compact doesn't deliver.

dude, youre a great and honest product reviewer! you earned my sub off this video alone and i havent seen another video yet.
I also bought these because I was disappointed with my Nitro Deck. These are much, much better.
@@alekxssthey both feel about the same and both feel great.
Excellent review! Just ordered some on sale for Prince of Persia handheld.
Thanks for the Review! I'ma get a Pair!

Great video! I was thinking of getting these, and the comparisons have really made me want it now.
Glad I could help!
Buy the NYXI Hyperion Pro instead
@@iwearLingerie Why?
@naru_355 they're better but don't take my word for it just find a review you won't be disappointed

You deserve more suscribers, good video.

They’re over priced more than anything

It feels like an in between of the nes and snes dpads
It's actually really not bad, in terms of a quick affordable and ergonomic controller for the Switch
I’m surprised these never came out in black.
I boujgt the same color it’s arriving tomorrow
They do sell the adapter stand alone on their website
Thanks for the tip!
mobapad m6s HD. thank me later 😊
They’re better but not that much. If Horis had a battery, I’d choose these over Mobapads
@@glabbenmee too because the compacts are literally are medium joycons and I love them. It’s just not a big grip like the pro version.
