Hey everyone! We have the link to the related podcast here ua-cam.com/video/3CIn3IoY_wg/v-deo.html , but please accept our apologies for the odd camera angle and also the slightly shoddy audio - some files were lost and a lot of swearing went into the making of this episode.x
That's ok, I appreciate this channel since it lets me know all the cool stuff going on over in the UK, even with all the issues you folks are having in the beer industry over there.
Ha yeah - props to Rode, all the audio for the interview and chat between me and Brad came from their shotgun mic we use as backup. Did a great job....with a lot of fiddling.
@@TheCraftBeerChannel So these collabs you done with Siren - are they available to buy? there was four cans near the start of the video are they available to buy or are they long gone or what?
Love Siren methodology! Never afraid to try something different, never afraid to swerve off the road of tradition to push the boundaries of craft brewing. It's what excites in this industry, instead of these brands that stick to core ranges and even when they release a new beer it just feels like ones that they have done before with a new label slapped in front of it. On to the main subject in this video, I love a West Coast IPA (or Californian IPA *wink*), and this collab beer sounded epic (100 IBU! Yes please!) I love Talus, it's a great hop that does wonders for a beer in my opinion.
Catching up on CBC videos after a couple of weeks away on business. This weirdly felt like a trip back in time. Can't believe the festival was 6 months ago already - was such a great day! Brilliant weather, fantastic people and utterly superb beers.
gutted i missed out, only just stumbled upon this channel - its "proper good" - are any of the collabs they have done with Siren available to buy anywhere? there was four cans near the start there that im assuming they collab'd with Siren to create?
There were two beardy beer geeks at Siren Knocking on the door, were told to enquire in About brewing a westie With Sean, their new bestie And thankfully, the beer wasn’t a dire ‘un
I think, Siren does produce the best West Coast Style IPAs in the UK. [edit]: Like always, I commented before fully watching it (where you sort of mentioned it yourself)
This all happened last year and were brewed for their birthday festival in September, so I’d say you’ve missed the boat for cans. Certainly hope this gets a rebrew though, it was terrific
California ipa, it's such boring style. I had the calendar this year and it's essentially a slightly hazy half way house which is so middle of the road it could send you to sleep. I love siren but this California IPA fascination is not winning my love at all. I guess I'm a guy of extremes I either want a soft slinky neipa or bitter as shiz crystal clear piney westy. This goes almost between without the best bits of either.
@@TheCraftBeerChannel I agree with that absolutely, was just a shame that 90% of the IPA in the recent calender for example was this style rather than a wide selection. It's almost become the largest focus of the IPA range.
@s1dew1nd3r4 I do too, but to California isn't a real hazy it doesn't deliver the great thick juice and dank notes hence why I don't get it. It's a half way house that is just... Dull

Siren are a class act, practically everything they put out has character and appeal.
West coast is the best coast! Got a lot of love for Siren, I think they're a gateway into craft beer for a lot of people
100 IBUs?! Is the bitterness arms race back on? 😂 It's also poetic how this playlist went full circle from your two brews that day. Nice touch gents
Haha this was theoretical. I reckon it would have landed around 60ish.
Would you share the recipe for us homebrewers?? 😅😅😅
yes please ! Some recipes for the "brewing with" series
This is one of my comfort channels.

Siren entered my radar this year after I tried their "Pomelcello" sour. Unreal flavour

I’m no hophead but I wish I had been able to taste this one. Sounds like it was an amazing brew.
Westie is the bestie!
Siren is one of my favourite breweries, just love their Red Ales. Really got a taste for them at my university bar 😅
😘This is fantastic.
Can any of these beers you guys created together be bought online or in store?
Just moore, Yea'aa!!
Funny, I would not associate a westie with coconut. But damn would I like to try that one. Siren never dissapoints me.

Brad can definitely take Vin Diesel
There's only one way to find out.
Great beard
when are you going to start brewing in the brew shed again?
Next homebrew video goes live in mid June. Carbonating as we speak!
@@TheCraftBeerChannel can any of these collabs be bought online or in a shop at all?
What is this beer festival you keep talking of?
Happened last September.... but we might have a big announcement coming....
q. Is the whole shooting match being released as a 10 can case by any chance? If so, ou?

Afraid it's been and gone but hoping a few of these beers will get a rebrew for an announcement we're making in a few weeks.
Recipe please 😇
Will ask!

I see your point of view, but craft beer i about offering something for everyone through diverse styles and approaches and ideas.

They all taste the same, old mango.
West coast IPA should not taste of mango.
I assume from this that you buy most of your beer in a supermarket?
I've never had mango from a west coast myself either .
@@andrewsteer8860 you can buy siren in a supermarket too though?
