Have you thought about doing a multi episode series on Irelands independent especially the stouts and porters they offer. Some of them are near railway lines Carlow Brewing Company, Sullivan’s Brewing Company of Kilkenny and Hopefully who are beside the railway line at Howth junction
What about East Kent Goldings and Fuggles. The hops behind the establishment of smaller independent breweries especially such as O’ Hara’s,Porterhouse,Hilden and Whitewater.
This video is so exciting. I have been reading "For the Love of Hops" by Stan Heironymus, 2012. Seeing the people and breweries and HOPS from this book was inspiring to me. Keep up the great job Craft Beer. I made my 1st homemade beer in 1985. I restarted my home beer making continuously in 2011. My present beer: Belma, Tacoma, Mt. Hood HOPS: So good. Gulf War Veteran 1990-91.
I'm a Floridian and let me tell you I've learned this state has a hopping brew scene! I still like drinking beers from near and far though. This documentary proves its been a constant like evolutionary process brewing beer that's to be respected from breeders to brewers. Thank you for this documentary highlighting the time line of these amazing hops contributing to remarkable brews.
Anyone else watch a 50 minute CBC video and it ends up taking an hour and a half because you keep rewinding to go over stuff again?! Great job guys. Such an education. I have four bottles of Sierra Nevada PA that I'm going to harvest the yeast from to make my version. Can't wait!
Another great video guys. I really appreciate the amount of effort and research that must go into making an hour long video of this quality. Cascade always has been and I think always will be my favourite hop. Regularly brew a cascade pale ale which is just always my go to beer. Thanks to all the hop breeders out there and the amount of effort they put it, the unsung heroes of the brewing world! 🍻
Really interesting and well made video! In Finland some breweries have started to collect ”long forgotten” hops and experimenting using them. Because Finland lacks hop industry, there are no mass produced varieties but loads of different hops that have grown in farms etc. Looking forward to taste some of those beers. Fat Lizard is one brewery I remember doing this. Hop in finnish is humala, which also means when you are drunk :)
Hi from Russia! I know that Cascade hops was made as a mix of Russian "Serebryanka" (Silver river/Silver paint) hops and English "Fuggle" hops sorts. It was breeded circa 1960s in Oregon.
Loved this especially hearing the Yakima story. I hope they enjoy the boom after 20-30 years of doing their own thing. Hoping some of those Siren beers make their way to Europe. If anyone spots them please leave a comment!
Great video! I want to shout out Two Hearted when talking about Centennial: 100% Centennial, first batch hit shelves in 1997 which is a little behind the curve but it's a helluva beer. I recently moved away from Michigan and constantly miss its tap handle when I walk into most bars and restaurants
We nearly went with Two Hearted - it is The Centennial story - but chose not to as they werent independent any more and we struggled to get contact. I really wish we had stuck at it. As much as i was really proud and excited to work with Bear Republic on a Racer 5 homage - Centennials real story starts with Two Hearted.
An awesome documentry taking us back to 1970s when the craft beer revolution started.........and Cascade having started the trend in citrus, juicy hops..........thanks Craft beer channel for yet another top video........cheers.....
The simcoe is extraordinary, great flavours and for my palette beautifully balanced....please do a homebrew version on your channel....Best beer out of a can I've had for a while
My word, this has been a revelation, little did i know mosaic came from HBC, so when i see HBC on a tin, i am going to buy it because it could be the new Mosaic or Citra. This is better than night school. Thank you CBC. Commend the contributors and your ability to secure them for your purpose and ours.
Killer doc! I loved hearing from all the brewers but the farmers/breeders were especially interesting to hear from. It's important to point out what an impact producers have on the market and I can't wait to see what takes hold next
The colour on the Cascade and Centennial beers was fantastic! Really makes me want to give them a go. Cracking video and on such short notice! Well done lads 🍻
Really great dive into the history of hop evolution. I live in Northern California, close to Lagunitas, Bear Republic & Russian River breweries, among many others & often take these beers for granted. Thanks for giving me some perspective & renewed appreciation for these historic offerings! Cheers!
Good grief, the amount of work that's gone into that video! Great concept, couldn't help relating it to the development of the craft scene in Australia. I left the UK in 2005 and since then the influence that those hops as used by those breweries has had in Oz has been remarkable. When I arrived if you wanted craft beer there was the output of Coopers and if you were very lucky you could find Little Creatures Pale Ale - a rough Sierra Nevada analogue that had just a touch more sweetness. Now I can walk from my house to probably 6 or 7 breweries serving both the more heavily hopped American styles and some more traditional European styles. I doubt that either would have happened without Little Creatures following the prompt of Sierra Nevada [personal opinion not to be relied upon in any way].
Let this be a lesson to anyone who thinks only winemaking is heavy dependant upon the stuff you grow for the brew. One of your best videos so far! Love & beer 🍺
This was really great! And makes me want to go back to my grandparents and great-grandparents from the Yakima valley and yell at them for not planting hops when they had the chance LOL.
An unusually long one and 54 minutes of my life that I will never get back but that's just fine because it's given me inspiration for future brews. Great show as always guys!
It took me a while to find the right time to watch this, but I wanted to make sure I watched it start to finish without interruption. It was totally worth it! Great work guys!
Well done vid! History and vlog with the brewers who made it happen was excellent! As an American brewer in France, I really appreciate this history lesson to continue to bring dynamic recipes from the American craft beer scene to this side of the pond. Cheers! 🍻
Still have a deep deep love for centennial. The resiny, piney citrus just is lovely. Also like that to my nose it gives of this fruity loops smell in the boil when brewing.
Also, Johnny’s shirt ❤️ this. Genius idea, celebrating individual hops. What an eye opener this would be for an amateur brewer, learning the history of hops and individual hop flavors! Great content as always!
every video you guys post is so much fun to watch. this one was a great balance of education (as a homebrewer) and entertainment. keep up the great work! cheers!!
Epic video. Really well done. Enthralling, loved every bit. Took me back to my days in Colorado discovering Sierra Nevada first time in mid 90's to later in Seattle and SF discovering Racer 5 in a dive bar. Can't wait to start brewing with these legendary hops.
Great doc guys! The Yakima Valley is my home, and I truly appreciate the tremendous job you did in capturing the people and the process by which hops reach the world. My background is in fruit farming, but I have been hop adjacent my entire life. I loved seeing all of the harvesting/processing footage along with the great interviews - super interesting. I learned a lot. Cheers!
Only disappointment was that it finished. Great vlog - as a home brewer as well as a real ale fan, it was full of useful information. So good to hear the passion from the hop growers and brewers. Would love one day to see a vlog on the difference between English and American IPA’s (which to me, bare little resemblance) apologies if you’ve already done it and I missed it.
Thanks for making this! Really professional, very interesting, very well presented. Now just want to hammer that Centennial Time Hop brew, looks phenomenal
Nicely done gents! Did you make this doc especially for me?? You've highlighted my desert island brews for sure. After years of being into craft beer I realise these beers are really all I need. The hype stuff is fun but we forget about it in a month's time whereas beers like Pale Ale or Heady Topper never age. Cheers!
This series of beers is a great idea considering how hard it is to get some of those beers over here, I think Siren have really undersold the collaboration and what they've been inspired by, my local bottleshop had them in and I looked at the cans and thought nothing of it.
Thank you guys for this excellent video the quality of production and content are off the chain! Will have to order these in, would be nice to have a go brewing a few also to get a feel of the styles. Cheers 🍻
This was SERIOUSLY easy to get through - even with the UA-cam Adverts interrupting the viewing :D - Well done... you've got a new subscriber and fan of your channel!! As a homebrewer myself, I was taking some notes and this was not only entertaining and informative but it also had EXCELLENT quality sound and video (save for the dial in interviews which is expected..) Well done!! Cheers!
Excellent video guys you've outdone yourself yet again! It's hard not to want to try those founding fathers of beers when you see the influence they've had on the craft beer scene ever since 🍻
An older Gentleman that lives a few miles from Me tried to grow some hops here in S.C. years ago. He said that they had trouble with it getting a mold on it. I wonder if some of the new strains would do better in this climate?

I would if I could. Curse Brexit and all this nonsense about shipping to the EU 😡
A lady asked me out for beers at work and told her no; because she was my boss...
What about East Kent Goldings and Fuggles. The hops behind the establishment of smaller independent breweries especially such as O’ Hara’s,Porterhouse,Hilden and Whitewater.
Feature length! Man, this is gonna throw a wrench in the ol' schedule today.
Haha. Grab a beer and settle in. No work this afternoon.
I love that things like this are available on youtube. Thank you!
Cheers Jonny! Hope the rest of youtube's audience agrees!

All these beers come from my back yard and you're making me realize how blessed I am to live where I do

This documentary proves its been a constant like evolutionary process brewing beer that's to be respected from breeders to brewers. Thank you for this documentary highlighting the time line of these amazing hops contributing to remarkable brews.
I live in North Idaho and have driven through the Yakima hop fields many times. It's always amazing.
Anyone else watch a 50 minute CBC video and it ends up taking an hour and a half because you keep rewinding to go over stuff again?! Great job guys. Such an education. I have four bottles of Sierra Nevada PA that I'm going to harvest the yeast from to make my version. Can't wait!
Exactly why I’m a patreon 🙂 a wee contribution in kudos to the exceptional content yous put out time and time again. Massive cheers 😁🍻
Thanks so much for your support!
Time Hops was a good day! Your interviews were very interesting too!..lotta Beards around that day!🤣🍻
So many Beards

“Clientele of customers” 😂
So American 😂

The input from Drew Gaskell was mind-blowing!
Loved this especially hearing the Yakima story. I hope they enjoy the boom after 20-30 years of doing their own thing.
Hoping some of those Siren beers make their way to Europe. If anyone spots them please leave a comment!
This was one of the best “documentaries” I have ever seen! Great job guys! Fantastic info.
Unbelievable that this channel has got only nearly 140k subscribers. Thanks for your work, guys!
Agreed, had the opportunity to try it on a trip, it’s a “gold standard” IPA up there with Sculpin for me
Spot on!
We nearly went with Two Hearted - it is The Centennial story - but chose not to as they werent independent any more and we struggled to get contact. I really wish we had stuck at it. Thanks for the video. Centennial is my go to hops. I keep coming back to it as a home brewer
Goddaaaaamn now that video is what defines „quality content“ ! Amazing that we really see THE faces that did lead us into the hop~age !
Very well done! Excellent lesson into the science of hops varieties and beer making.
The colour on the Cascade and Centennial beers was fantastic! Really makes me want to give them a go. Cracking video and on such short notice! Well done lads 🍻

Definitely my favorite type of videos from this channel. Good job guys the fans really appreciate all your work
The hops I've used for years, in one great story. Thanks.
Let this be a lesson to anyone who thinks only winemaking is heavy dependant upon the stuff you grow for the brew. One of your best videos so far!
Love & beer 🍺
Alright I need to start growing my own hops now, what a brilliant plant! Nice work guy's!

Thanks Jim!
Excellent Video.. thank you from Texas . USA
I love the work you guys do. Thank you for years of education and entertainment. Keep going, I'll be a patron for life.
Enjoyed the Simcoe at GBBF and hopefully try some others at LCBF. Great video chaps.
See you there!

Amazing job! Listened to it in the car then re-watched it later! Quality stuff!
Blown away! what a film!
You gents make a damn good documentary. I loved watching every minute. Thank you.
every video you guys post is so much fun to watch. this one was a great balance of education (as a homebrewer) and entertainment. keep up the great work! cheers!!
This is an amazing documentary, I was a little bit down to make beers after it became mainstream but this have reignited my excitement.
Epic video. Really well done. Enthralling, loved every bit. Took me back to my days in Colorado discovering Sierra Nevada first time in mid 90's to later in Seattle and SF discovering Racer 5 in a dive bar. Can't wait to start brewing with these legendary hops.

Not yet but we have a big project coming all about that...
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale was the gateway drug that made me the hop head I am today. I will always treasure that beer even though I have moved on.
Love this documentaries! Cheers from 🇨🇱🇨🇱
I think this is the best video I've seen from you guys yet. Really excited to try these beers!
Thanks Ben!

Absolutely fantastic doc lads, appreciate all the hard work that surely went into making this
Thanks for making this! Really professional, very interesting, very well presented. Now just want to hammer that Centennial Time Hop brew, looks phenomenal
Great vid, will certainly be watching more than once.
Watched this twice already, definitely gonna watch it again while brewing a Two Hearted clone. I love this channel.
Cheers Jason!
Absolutely fantastic, great work all around! I found this really informative, thanks.
Very very good put together film.....
Really interesting film, as ever. Fascinating hop history. The results look delicious and I'll definitely be on the look out for them locally.
Wow guys, brilliant job, one of your best videos. All you need to cap things off is a trip to the western New York craft beer scene. Cheers!👍🏻🍻❤️
You guys keep one-upping yourselves! Fantastic documentary.
Saved for the weekend, really looking forward to this one! Cheers!

Was admittedly jealous when they popped open those beers at 43:
Thank you guys for this excellent video the quality of production and content are off the chain! Will have to order these in, would be nice to have a go brewing a few also to get a feel of the styles. Cheers 🍻

Great work boys, very much appreciated. Also very jealous that I’m unable to sample the 4 beers. Loving the content!!
Well done guys!

Absolute killer episode! Thank you!
Love it! Keep stuff like this coming! Bummer we can’t get the beers over here in the US
Great content! Thanks guys!
Bravo. That really was very good.
Great video, the history of hobbies is always valuable :)
Well done, thank you.
Bloody great work lads
Well done guys. I learned so much from this.
Great stuff guys, really enjoyed that. Super informative and the beard count is reassuringly high.
Excellent content! A real hop documentary
Excellent. Thank you.
