I don’t crochet, I don’t knit, (wish I could) but you have such a wonderful bright vivacious personality that i keep coming back to watch 😂 I now have a baseline knowledge about what makes a quality yarn for a hobby i may never have haha
Who knows? Maybe you will grab a hook and become a yarn addict like the rest if us? 😆 there are TONS of beginner videos out there on YT whenever you want to try!
Yes, you need to try!! It just takes practice. Check out your local library to see if they have crochet classes. Or- most yarn shops have group time where they will work with you.
a few years ago, I made a Two of Wands poncho/tunic/sweater kinda thing, and now that I have an office job, it is now my work cloak! I have decided that I am going to be as cozy as possible all the time, so I wear it everyday to feel some wooly comfort ❤️👍
I made that basket and I thought it'd be pretty good but its GREAT. The stretchiness of yarn means it can be stuffed with projects and the basket changes to fit the stuff. I use it all the time for carrying MULTIPLE projects across the house, or organising my next few ideas, etc. It's a really handy basket and it used a good 600g of my scrap yarns.
I'm so happy you uploaded! You always make my day better. I'm digging oversized crochet scrunchies this season and hoping to make at least a few! Hadn't even thought about making outerwear but oh my goodness that's a dream😍
I was so surprised about the lavendar color. My 13 yr old daughter asked me to make her a sweater using this color because "It's on trend and going to be THE color this year." Guess I'll be checking in with her going forward. Making her a hexi sweater was soo much fun. I think I'll take a note from you and go make one of my own, but tunic length out of some beautiful chunky yarn I have in my stash. I wasn't sure what to do with it, but the idea of a sweater dress or pinafore or even a coat out of it just makes sense to me now. Thank you!
Hey Toni, I was at the sheep and wool fest, but your books were sold out. I just love your energy. I finally got the book at Merrit book store my neighborhood book store, could'nt wait to get it. Much love❤ I will be hitting you up with a coffee. Until happy crocheting.
I just turned 70. Before I could hold a crochet hook my Mom gave me a skein of your and taught me to chain stitch with my fingers. I’ve recently been making the baskets. I’ve made 5 since August. I’m planning to make more to be Christmas gift bags for my family. I’ve been using my yarn leftovers.
😅 a piece of all these trends are already on my list. I want to make a triangle bandana/hooded cowl, in Hue Loco's Hocus Pocus 2 in 'Yes Salem, We're Back' (which is variegated; mostly chartuse and lavender w/blues and pinks) in merino sock held with suri. I haven't started it yet, I'm trying to find the perfect pattern. Which is coming up short....so I'm leaning on the chaos of winging it. Wish me luck from the fiber gods and for my sanity 😂🤞
Confession: The Gemini in me decided to change my plans for this fall 😂. Instead, I will challenge myself to re-imagine TL Yarn garments and a special blanket for 5 of the trends. After a while of scrolling through many contenders, preferably free patterns, here are the trends I chose and the pattern I chose for each of the 5 trends: Rochester Pullover (Sweater Dress Weather), Veronica Cocoon (Security Blanket), Bradley Afghan (Back to Basics), Kima Cardi (Neutral Instincts), and the Patchwork Cardi (The Great Outdoors). The easy part is done, now next is the hard part of creating a color scheme that continues in each garment and that one blanket. I’ve decided to splurge on Lion Brand yarns for each of the projects, specifically ones I haven’t tried before, so I’m going to see what Joann’s has for my fall collection. Excited to start and show my progress on Instagram, UA-cam, and take my designing skills to the max. Thank you Toni for inspiring me to challenge myself this fall season and I hope I have your stamp of approval to support this huge challenge of my crochet designing career.
everytime you drop a video of any kind i am so much more productive. I literally sat down weaving in my ends with determination. lots of wips to finish… but that new projekt tho👀
I have been crocheting since I was 5 and I'm now 53 (shhh! LOL); however I have never learned Tunisian crochet. You have been so inspirational that I want to try it! I love your exuberance and look forward to your tips, and this one was by far the best. By the way, yes, that sweater color looks amazing on you. 😊 thanks for being you and all your amazing light shining through in a world when we need more of it. Can't wait for your next video!!
I love the Fluffy Days yarn from Hobbii! I just finished a jumper with it for a friend who’s allergic to wool and immediately started another project with that yarn. 😊
I think I'm going to have to get some of that too. I can wear wool most of the time but mohair and I just don't get along! I'm excited to see one I can use without the sneezing!
This was on point. A lot of useful info. My fall/winter wip's are: 3 blanket hoodies (gifts 1 done 2 to go), 2 afghans (1 gift, 1 almost done commission), A tree skirt (just finished), a few beanies and coffee coozies as small gifts, and 3 sweaters for myself in the deep of winter after the holidays. Yeah I have lost my mind.😁 (Plus several other sewing and crafting Christmas projects😜)
Hi Toni 👋🏼 What great ideas.. I immediately stopped the video, and checked out some of the beanie patterns. Thank you for the links 🙏🏽💖 Right now, it's all about the granny squares for me. I can't get enough.. Great seeing you today. Happy Saturday
im super duper excited to make one of those super skinny scarf patterns! they look absolutely perfect as someone who doesnt get super cold weather, its a scarf without too much extra overwhelming warmth!
I recently moved from a tropical temperate climate where the weather is the same all the time, to a climate with 4 seasons. its my first fall and winter ever and im trying to figure out what to make. I have some alpaca and wool blend from hobbii and this just confirmed the fingerless gloves I want to make. if anyone has any suggestions for what to make for a first winter it would be appreciated.
For a first winter, make a scarf! Let me tell you, when that wind gets blowing, you will always be so happy to have a wind shield protecting your neck and chin, and lips! Scarves and hats are winners for first winter projects!
Love the video, great information as always. I’m just starting to venture into wearables so I’m making a fancy but useable shawl for my BFF. Using Hobbii’s butterfly yarn.
When I was watching videos to learn crochet a few months ago, yours was the only one that pushed me past the mental block I was having. It had been stuck on the correct loop over because too many people rush through these small details and your videos helped so much. I am addicted to crochet now and have made two full size throws, purses, and more. Thank you!
Dina Cardi looks like the project I want to pick up first. Hello~!! There was only a few things I thought, 'nope', but for the most part, it was a good fall line up. Kudos Sister from another Mister. ;)
I'm currently playing with "hot fuzz". I usually don't like boucle or faux fur yarn because it's hard to see my stitches. But I've had a few skeins of Caron Latte Cakes just sitting in the closet for a while and I figured it's time to make some sweaters. I do like these color trends. I'm not a fan of neutrals.
Contemplating what I could make that wouldn’t be hot to wear in the balmy weather that is fall and winter in the Low Country of South Carolina. I might need to stick to skinny scarves in lightweight yarns! A pepper red would be interesting but not my most flattering color. Perhaps I should make an amigurumi instead? ::raises a cup of decaf coffee cheer to Ms. Toni!:: 🍁🍂☕️
I just started knitting two months ago and I love knitting to your videos (as well as getting motivation to one day try crocheting!)! Your voice is so soothing!
Well since you asked so kindly, I’m working on an enormous baby blanket for my friends expecting their first child in March. It’s many many shades of pastel blue, pink, green, orange, dark blue and white. All mottled hexagons of several colors. I’m just starting to assemble the pieces and figure out what stitch I want to use to do that.
i bought 10 skeins of bernat blanket yarn in a panic thinking i wouldn't have enough for my partner's halloween costume, because i always under buy for projects (i used 3 🙃). i think i will try making a hoodie with it, since it's so soft and warm
You have really inspired me to think outside the box this fall/winter season. Thanks for all you do for this crochet community. Happy Holidays to you!😀
I want to make the willow scarf in a lovely plum purple color. I have seen this shade around a lot recently and think it would go beautifully over my navy winter coat. I loved this video! Thank you! ❤🧶❤️🧶❤️
I'm making a sweater dress inspired by madeinthemoment's Here Comes Treble shrug. The heat is always too high at work, but I crave the feeling of a cozy sweater dress. So the lacey style works nice!
I’ve been crocheting (and a bit of knitting) since I was 12 but just really got back into crochet head on at 22. I am super obsessed with your channel rn 😭
I definitely enjoyed this video and it's fun to see what is newer and happening. I'm working on a longer duster cardi right now and using cascade yarns aero duo in color # 206. Its a great neutral striped yarn with a fuz which I'm super excited about.
My aunt is moving and gave me a a granny square blanket to finish with the vintage booklet. It's light purple, white, and blue. You join 4 grannies, put a boarder on then join into a blanket.
Lots of great inspiration. I am teaching my self to crochet through your videos and just started my first project this week--- the Mesa Beanie. I hope it turns out just as lovely as yours. I also really wanna try a poncho. So good to know they are on treadmill again.
I have been stuck in beginner crochet for so long not knowing how to move past it into more complex stuff. Just found you a few days ago and you have shown me there is SO much more to crochet than i woould of ever imagined! Would love advice for a beginner/seasoned crocheter if you know what i mean 😂 thank you!!
Just started a sweater for my boyfriend and I plan to make a big comfy sweater for myself and finish my blanket that’s about halfway done at this point. Coming for that wavy blanket next.
Hey toni, I adore this video and love hearing your suggestions! I'd love to see your plus size suggestions. As a plus size crocheter, sometimes as we know things just dont size up well so I kinda wanted to know what your tips are for up sizing a pattern for a plus size body
I loved this video - hope you keep coming with the trends. I was completely surprised by the pepper red but I actually had picked up saffron from the frosted stitch which meets that palette to make a turtleneck!
This is my first time, watching one of your videos, and I have to say that I have become so inspired after watching it! I would love to see another trends video in the future.❤❤
I have some beautiful silk/wool blended fingering weight yarn I've been dying to use but no idea on what pattern to use it on. You've definitely given me more than a few good ideas!
Where did you find the inspiration cards. Me and color theory are not friends, I would love to steal color combo ideas from those very well put together cards. 😊
I am challenging myself to re-imagine your garment patterns this fall, and I already have the Lynn Fringe Vest (completed in June for my sister), Maya Striped Tank, Toni Cuffed Cardi, and more recently, the Summertime Tee. I'm thinking of doing the Kima Cardi next. EDIT: my fall plans changed. Check my new comment on this video for more details on this project.
I loved this trends video and I would love to see more! I get stuck in a rut with my knits and crochet projects sometimes and you have inspired me. Thank you!!!
This was inspiring! I've been thinking about a poncho and loved some of the ideas you showed. I have some Hobbii mohair and cotton pairs that I want to use too. Last, that color does look fabulous on you!
I hope you will try someday! ❤❤❤
Yes, you need to try!! It just takes practice. Check out your local library to see if they have crochet classes. Or- most yarn shops have group time where they will work with you.
Love this! ❤
Dive in. Just learning the basics can be fun and inspiring. And you will become part of a fun and lively community.
a few years ago, I made a Two of Wands poncho/tunic/sweater kinda thing, and now that I have an office job, it is now my work cloak! I have decided that I am going to be as cozy as possible all the time, so I wear it everyday to feel some wooly comfort ❤️👍
I love that! We all should be wearing our handmade pieces in public more. Stay cozy!
Don't you just love that! Using the scraps and getting a magical basket out of it. Now that's a win-win!!
I'm so happy you uploaded! You always make my day better. I'm digging oversized crochet scrunchies this season and hoping to make at least a few! Hadn't even thought about making outerwear but oh my goodness that's a dream😍

I just finished the Piper Pocket Dress a couple weeks ago! It’s one of my favourite wearables I’ve ever made. Great pattern.
Hey Toni, I was at the sheep and wool fest, but your books were sold out. I just love your energy. I finally got the book at Merrit book store my neighborhood book store, could'nt wait to get it. Much love❤ I will be hitting you up with a coffee. Until happy crocheting.

Omg I have that same water bottle! Something about finding little things like that in videos feels comforting :)
I'm crocheting a sweater vest for my mom with a brown-gray scarfie yarn in linked double crochet. Basic stitch, fuzzy yarn, check check!
I absolutely loved watching this video. Thank you for all you do❤
I made a granny square poncho for my Halloween costume and it’s my favorite thing to wear now

That shirt is such a great color on you! You are beautiful and glowing. ❤️
My pre-Christmas crochet projects are so Christmas gifts this year!
I would LOVE to make the Mesa hat and scarf set. Just gorgeous! As an aside, your hair is so lovely and that color is your color!
Hiya Toni….
I am going to try some beautiful green yarn… you talked me into it!
I’m here for the purple and red!! I also need a sweater dress this season
everytime you drop a video of any kind i am so much more productive.
I literally sat down weaving in my ends with determination.
lots of wips to finish… but that new projekt tho👀
Currently crocheting my first sweater with Happy Place! 🧶💜
You've outdone yourself, Toni!
Fantastic video ...
I really want to make a granny square cardigan. I'm in the middle of market prep for my first craft fair...so it will have to wait.😂
Me too.😊

Hi Toni 👋🏼 What great ideas.. I immediately stopped the video, and checked out some of the beanie patterns. Thank you for the links 🙏🏽💖

You’ve challenge me to crochet a granny square vest!
Such a great video, Toni!! So much inspiration. Loved it and love you! ❤
You taught me to crochet! Thank u!
I am so inspired. Looking forward to trying the sweater dress with a chenille yarn. I watched this video twice.😊

@@imanione I am working on one! I had made a hat and scarf before coming up here so I have something to use in the mean time. Thanks!
You should try micro crochet
What a fun video, Toni! I'm looking forward to more in the future 😉

Loved this! You inspired me to make my first sweater this year, and I will now be exploring that adorable Gertie dress!
Yes! You got this. Come back and tell us how it goes :-)

I have a question about Tunisian crochet; has any of your followers made anything Tunisian crochet double stranded?
I still wear my Kima Cardi and get so many compliments… though it’s getting a bit fuzzy! New trend??
Yes, do this again. I’m so bad at picking colours; it’s lovely to get ideas as to what’s trending
I’ve been crocheting (and a bit of knitting) since I was 12 but just really got back into crochet head on at 22. I am super obsessed with your channel rn 😭
Another great video! Thanks so much, Toni for your wonderful content. I look forward to your videos! ❤️

Love the content of course, and your makeup looks incredible in this video! Can I ask what lipstick you use? 🔥🔥
We live in Florida. I’m thinking a poncho would be a good beginner project ….. in red😮
Thanks for another vid! BTW, you look fabulous in that yellow sweater!
Just started a sweater for my boyfriend and I plan to make a big comfy sweater for myself and finish my blanket that’s about halfway done at this point. Coming for that wavy blanket next.
Love the trends video, helped me find exactly what I had been looking for, inspiration!!
❤️I would love to see you come out with your own crochet hooks❤I am 66 going on 25😊I would stand in line for them,Please give it some thought.
This is so helpful, Toni! Yes to more trends videos!!
What was the speckled yarn you showed in the Digital Lavender color section? I must have it!
Hey toni, I adore this video and love hearing your suggestions! I'd love to see your plus size suggestions. As a plus size crocheter, sometimes as we know things just dont size up well so I kinda wanted to know what your tips are for up sizing a pattern for a plus size body
Great video on fall trends. Made me realize I need to be more adventurous in my crochet projects. Thanks!!!
Very intrigued by the olive oil green and digital lavender trends. Unsure what I would make with them though
I am looking for a beginner cardigan or sweater pattern. I have done some crocheting but been hesitant about making wearables. Any suggestions?
I loved this video - hope you keep coming with the trends. I was completely surprised by the pepper red but I actually had picked up saffron from the frosted stitch which meets that palette to make a turtleneck!
I think some of us are still traumatized by the faux fur trend around 2000. Dare I try this again? 😂
I'm trying SO hard to buy you a coffee and it won't let me lol prolly a weird glitch and I'll try again later. but LOVE all that you do!
Currently trying my hand at the hexagon sweater, dont know why I decided to use 3.5mm hook
This is my first time, watching one of your videos, and I have to say that I have become so inspired after watching it! I would love to see another trends video in the future.❤❤
Yasss! More trend vids!! This was so inspiring! Sometimes you need a little inspiration to know what to make next! thanks Toni!
My grandmother made me a ripple blanket when I was little. It is over 40 years old, I use it constantly, yet it still looks new!
I have some beautiful silk/wool blended fingering weight yarn I've been dying to use but no idea on what pattern to use it on. You've definitely given me more than a few good ideas!
I'm having problems with my crocheting. It's curling. Is it too tight
Just bought the hueloco Chai and I’m planning to make your mellow tunic in that single color.
Where did you find the inspiration cards. Me and color theory are not friends, I would love to steal color combo ideas from those very well put together cards. 😊
Love you, Toni!❤
I am challenging myself to re-imagine your garment patterns this fall, and I already have the Lynn Fringe Vest (completed in June for my sister), Maya Striped Tank, Toni Cuffed Cardi, and more recently, the Summertime Tee. I'm thinking of doing the Kima Cardi next.
EDIT: my fall plans changed. Check my new comment on this video for more details on this project.
Thanks for all the idea links. I’m a longtime crocheter but new to many online sites.
I would LOVE one of these videos also for spring summer
Great video Toni as always, but I have to say that today, your eyes looks so beautiful 😍, so bright!
I love sweater dresses! I really love the crochet dresses you displayed. I want to make one now.
I'm planning on making a blanket with some chunky yarn. I want it nice and thick and warm
They are all great hard to choose I’m working on it 😀😀😀😀
I love all your videos, but I *really* liked this one! I hope you’ll do more in the future
You forgot a vest.
I enjoyed, so much. I so want a pretty vest that ties at the sides.
Have you realised that some of your viewers are from hotter climates? Please do some stuff for hotter climates in cotton
Like some of the things you show but have never tried to make anything other than a aphgan. Is it hard to do?
I loved this trends video and I would love to see more! I get stuck in a rut with my knits and crochet projects sometimes and you have inspired me. Thank you!!!
So happy to help. We'll keep each other inspired :-)
This was inspiring! I've been thinking about a poncho and loved some of the ideas you showed. I have some Hobbii mohair and cotton pairs that I want to use too.
Last, that color does look fabulous on you!
So glad you found some good inspo. Excited to hear how cotton and mohair play together :-)
I love the idea of this video! I would love to see something like this for every season 🥹❤
