This movie was surprisingly enjoyable. I’m baked and had no expectations. It has humors that remind me off my middle school days 07-09’ when I used to skate religiously, recently started skating again relearning my tricks. 4 months in feeling great. Solid movie
Been a long time since a skate film like this came out, skate proof, street dreams, my top favorites. It ain’t about the budget and quality. It’s about the feelings and emotion that carries the film, I love this.
What I love the most about every skate movie ever made is the cringe, this one is top tier, I love it, I was 100% in and committed as soon as i knew it was about saving the local shop and the local hero was gonna hit the big leagues, whoever made this knew that vibe and made it so. Casting blonde ambition was dope too. big up Sinclair for the cameo. AA+ will watch again.
Cool movie. Skate shops all around the world are struggling, so support your local shop if you got one instead of buying online. You will miss it when it’s gone.
I'll never forget being a kid at the skateshop getting my first deck and seeing the guy put the grip on the deck and scratch out the outline I though it was the coolest thing. Still to this day my favorite part of setting up a board is scratching out the outline of the deck in the grip and seeing the shape of the board come to life
My local skate shop they were pricks....though they were better than everyone who came in. They laughed at me when I got a Gator board with rails and thunder trucks. 2 years later they were irrelevant and I was doing Ollie's so high on my BBC jeff phillips that I could Ollie up on the hood of a car next to the windshield. 2 years after that I was doing caspers and late shove its on my Spoon spoon&forks board.
same bro,i was 10 or 11,here in new zealand, the main skate shop in the 90s was called cheapskates,it was the dopest shop in the dayss, mum and dad got me a powell deck and sum groovy as blue tony hawk trucks, called tracker or sum shit like that, anyway i seen the deck on the wall powell angel boy graphics ,bones weels and bones bearings to i think.was better then loseing my virginity ,man bothe were good but i only lasted 20 mins maybe 10 anyway that board lasted me for years.still got one of the tony hawk trucks,i handed down to my nephew..anyway chicks cum and go,but skateing to i die will be my death.respect to all sk8rs out there from nz.destroy all goverment property.peace brothers
I actually don't believe it!!! The second I saw those 2 I was like "No way it's Andy and Ryden!! Way to go u 2!!" I was so happy I literally wanted to squeeze something. I can't believe those 2 made a cameo. ❤❤❤❤
We got no more skateshop in my place here closed 8 years ago.... there is 2 or 3 skateboarders as you can spot at the skatepark... i used to skate and quit due to my knee problem... i love skateboarding man... used to skate when my age 18 to 30.... damn..missed those days
Enjoyed it wayyyyy more than I thought I would. Hits home for me in a lot of places. Especially my local shop Vu still going strong after almost facing roughly the same issue. Never once bought a board online, and never will. A lot of the younger gen feels the same, but don’t get to experience the shops as much anymore. We must keep them alive and always support local🤘🏻
I remember getting my 1st, 2nd and 3rd board a shortys Chad Muska, A-Team Ronnie mullen and a BAKER Jim Greco when I was young. Still skating till this day at 39. Great Movie I give it a 10/10🙌🏼
My local shop got hit with the roof collapsing from the building above it. The community gathered the money to help him and then some. This film reminded of things like that.
HONEST REVIEW: First off, I've been skating for over 35 years, critiquing movies since 1976. While having a bit of a too happy of an ending, I found this movie to be funny, entertaining, and most importantly, a peek at what some Core skateshops are dealing with. Maybe not so much being pulled out by developers who pay local cops to do the dirty work, but to show that skateshops aren't a million dollar business. The struggle is indeed real. With online retailers, and Mall stores (which shall remain nameless), have created a hard world for core shops to live in. You also see how these shops represent their community, as well as the imprint they leave on it. From Andy's character buying his son the ever important "first board". To an aunt who's nephew raves about the shop. The world needs Core skateshops! But I digress.. Skateshop brought together a fun cast, real skateboarding, and a pretty decent sound track to round it out. I give it 3.7 stars out of 5 as a whole. BUT, a separate rating of 4.7 stars out of 5 for portraying skateboarding as it is in real life vs. as seen in movies of the past. It's not KIDS, and it definitely isn't Grind or Thrashin'. But something in between that the whole family can watch, laugh, and in some cases; relate to. P.S. While, Mike Sinclair might prefer to keep his day job as Team Manager for Tum Yeto, It's always a pleasure seeing him, whether it be in real life or a fun little movie. Cheers, Mike!
Was an awesome movie, loved the vibe of it, and definitely reminded me of my city's skateshop/skatepark. Funny and ironic thing is, the owner's name was also Dave, so this hit home even more and made me laugh hearing the owner's name in this movie. Keep up the great work. 👍
Dude this movie just reminds me of my packed up days of our local skatepark and living full time with my skate lads, this is super rad to watch ya..❤ big ups guys 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
The sad reality that the skatepark Soul Ride skatepark is permanently closed now from the landlord wanting to expand and needed the skatepark space.......
Those corrupt people are so evil! It makes me appreciate and want to support my local skate shop even more! 😮 😊 ❤ 😢 😂
Thanks everyone for watching and commenting! I'm working on the sequel now ⭐🍿
Can't wait to see it. Keep up the good work man.
I appreciate you making this .

Costs a little bit more.....
HOW DID HE JUST HAND OVER THE DOE THO?!!
This is amazing and so wholesome and completely captures the feeling of skater & skateshop. We need more films like this!
This is what any skateshop should be regardless. A wholesome environment and a good time with friends in between skating.

Go tell zumiez that 😂😂😂
Came from a gas pump sticker in ATL 🤣❤️

Such a sick movie. Also, Mike Sinclair popping in was rad!

10:29 in case you guys were looking for Andy and Ryden
Excellent movie made me remember my youth... I cried, I laughed, they made my life very happy...
Im a freshly new dad and I AM SO EXCITED for the "first board set up" phase!!!! Got me in my feels on that one
Congrats to your new born!
My favorite scene … tear jerker
I had no idea Andy Schrock was a cameo in an Indie film. I guarantee that wasn't the first board Ryden put together, but it was still a cute moment.
Turbo toy time in a movie HECK YEAH

After that second event, they would have been destroyed by negative reviews calling the raffle a scam 😂
Best skate film by far in my opinion and i have seen them all! Love how it brings you into both lives as a skater and shop owner! 🍻

Kinda ironic the park/shop used is gone, despite it was "churchy", I miss it. No indoor park here now. Very sad.
