@@starcraftyschannel1926 Bungie always puts out bangers when their backs are to the wall. That hints at management and executive issues, where they're allowed resources and time to do what they need.
People are getting over-hyped way too fast over very little info. We still don't know the actual CONTENT we'll be getting to play. Just sandbox changes. Without actual incentives, goals, and things to do that feel rewarding and long lasting, all the sandbox changes in the world won't fix things. Players are clearly starving for anything this point, and to a fault.
I mean tbh if wow came out with say. A mage spec that let you use the most powerful fire, frost, and arcane spells all at once. Meteor ice comet arcane orb and other things like combustion with arcane power with icy veins. That would make people very happy regardless of what dungeons are in the game
You think Destiny fans give a shit? They’ll hype up whatever because it’s Bungie! Bungie can do no wrong, it’s everyone’s else fault or people being mean to their game…
I use to play D2 with a friend pretty consistently After Lightfall dropped we where SO disappointed about the quality of the content, that we both stopped playing D2 and moved on As a busy Adult, I have limited play time, so there’s no time for playing an awful game It’s all been admitted in within Bungie that TFS was supposed to be content in Lightfall but the Execs wanted to split the content and drag out player interaction to charge for more
Beyond Light was when I had enough. I wanted them to convince me to come back and play it but the game just kept getting worse. It wasn't until last year that I said I'd never come back no matter what because the things they were doing were some of the scummiest I'd seen.
@@ADreamingTraveler because things are acctually good and its a game people have been playing for 10+ years and dont want to die. why did people think halo infinite would be good when 343 has been consistant crap? its good when its good. and horrible when its bad.
Small CORRECTION & few points: 1) ONLY Tormentors are currently in the game (introduced in Lightfall) 2) Subjucators were introduced 7 months ago but are NOT currently in the game 3) The new Prismatic Subclass is NOT entirely free-for-all. There are a curated list of abilities and aspects unique to each class that we will be able to mix and match - 1 from each element per class 4) The new exotic armour pieces for Prismatic will go in the Class Item armour slot and randomly roll with 2 ALTERED perks from other exotics. They won’t have the full original exotic capability, but a part of it and will be shared across all classes - so Warlocks can use bits of a Hunter exotic etc. Again, it is presumed this will be from a curated list of exotic perks as they are altered from the original full strength exotics. Basically; - 7 months ago with the first gameplay reveal they showed off 3 new Light supers (1 per class) and showed off their new enemy, the Subjucator - It seems VERY odd that they didn’t talk about the new Prismatic subclass (while hyping up the 3 new Light supers) OR the full suite of the Dread enemy race back then - This is why we believe the Prismatic subclass and the rest of the Dread faction were likely worked on completely from scratch since that first reveal 7 months ago (perhaps even after they announced the delay) Potential problems; - If they only decided the introduce the new enemy race a few months ago, how will that be able to be incorporated seamlessly into the story….?? - they would have to do a complete overhaul of enemy spawns/encounters across the entire expansion to include them - they would also need to do a balance pass on enemy spawns/encounters across the entire expansion to take into consideration the new subclass…. - what will happen with the new strike(s)…? Presumably they had old enemy types as boss(es) and as a part of the story. Surely that can’t be easily changed….. - we hope there will be at least a minimum of 2 new strikes with the expansion. Lightfall had just one, which was NOT acceptable for a core playlist activity….. - 3 is what we should really expect from an expansion - If they had originally worked on giving us 2 (or hopefully 3) new strikes, then presumably they would have to put together a 3rd (or even 4th) additional strike for the new Dread faction…. Time will tell how to all plays out. Despite limitations on the new subclass it does look incredibly fun. Hopefully they open up more freedom over time. It seems the exotic class items mixing exotic perks is likely also a last minute decision since the original reveal. Making exotics for the Prismatic subclass would be incredibly difficult to synergise across such diverse ability combinations. Combining perks from others is an incredibly inventive idea, providing way more potential to synergise with builds for Prismatic than one off dedicated exotics could offer
its not questing being complex its the fact that you have to pay $100 a year to play all the content and like $200 to catch up to current content. then the content LuLz half way through season.
when I started playing D2 (it was only 4 yrs ago) literally everyone in game warned me about financial ab(use. I didn't listen, I paid hundreds of $ to buy all the content. And funny thing about D2 is that you have to pay and pay non-stop to keep playing the same old content! The questing, the gameplay is awesome and fun, but the story for the new players will be confusing AF but it's not a problem really.. compared to the amount of financial investment this game really requires 😱 Sometimes Bungo just gives away 50-70$ packages of content (we paid for!). I'd recommend to get it and try for free BUT never pay for this game any extra, it's not worth it in 2024.
I've played D1 since release day and the same is true for D2, but even a day 1 player did not help understanding all those constantly introduced upgrade mechanics, materials and whatnot. I simply lost track at some point and this was when I did not care anymore, said 'Screw this!' and never looked back. Which is a shame, considering how much fun I had with D1 and, although to a much lesser degree, with D2 for a while and considering what this game could have been.
Bungie is VERY good at creating hype with their marketing team, so please take every single thing they say with a massive grain of salt. Yes, everything they say is going to be in the game HOWEVER it is often nowhere near as much as what they hype it up to be. They could say “look this is shaxxs bedroom and he has a bunch of secret weapons lying around the corner and a bunch of lore” then it’s just one quest that has you pick up a weapon from under his bed, and pick up a single grimoir card and that’s it. What they say is generally true, but massively overhyped which drives sales. Don’t want the hype videos unless you wanna see some subclass action as well as new weapons, but don’t get too excited over bullshit that you’d want to see in the next borderlands game or star citizen. EDIT: Just want to say though, I am somewhat optimistic. I do think they had this be their final time to prove themselves, at least I hope. If they dont play the Paul McCartney song at the end of the campaign after killing the witness I will fucking riot
@@Gainersy -_- he is just posting an example.... i like destiny's gunplay but the fact that all the content i paid for doesn't exist in game anymore, in order to get me back as a consumer they would have to give me my stuff back... and even then idk....
Sunsetting overall was good for the game, it made way for crafting and the things that got ported back into the nee engine are just better than they ever where
@@dochedgehog The engine didn't change and deleting old content wasn't a prerequisite for changing the engine. All they did was delete content people payed for, alienate new players by deleting a huge chunk of the story and make peoples favorite weapons obsolete so they needed to refarm it again in some dumb event or new content for old rewards. Also if weapon crafting is so great and crafted weapons are better than it wouldn't hurt leaving the old weapons alone, since if the newer ones are just straight better people would migrate over to crafted weapons except for the hardcore oldschool players. Sunsetting was a scummy business decision to recycle old weapons and reduce the game size becayse it was getting too big because D2 wasn't built as an mmo.
@@paledrake i agree on the overall scumminess of deleting content, but engine update happened and specifically it involved something about their mapping tools. That's why Revelations dungeon had to be pulled and re-released several weeks after this update. It seems like they had to manually review, update and regress-test all of their maps and scripting. Regarding the ones they have removed, they just said "fuck it we don't intend on supporting old content that nobody is playing on". Which is stupid and all sorts of messed up and it hurts the game and players. But on top of that many map and scripting related bugs were found after the update, so take it as you will. It wasn't the evil intention you speak of, more like stupid executive decisions that alienated more than half of their player base
As a destiny player of 10 years who played the d1 beta this was a smash success for me. I will keep my hype in check but I expected nothing that was shown and was left with my jaw on the floor
But while I can change the appearance of my character, I cannot change that which I wanted most, to change the race of my characters. My Titan is Human, my Warlock is Human, my Hunter is Human. I wanted to change that so my Hunter could be Exo, my Warlock Awoken, or vice versa while keeping my Titan Human.
I've not played D2 in about 4 years. Reinstalled it on a whim not too long ago and had no idea where to go or what to do so after bumbling around for about 45 minutes I quit and uninstalled again. Think I'm too far behind to catch up with D2, but a clean slate start with D3 might have me interested again
I wouldn't bother. If you got lost with Destiny 2 not knowing what to do I wouldn't bother getting hyped for a Destiny 3. Simply because the story is too interconnected at this point. Especially with the fact that seasons have a bunch of lore in em that's important that's not in the game anymore. I know as a Destiny player I should be bringing in returning players, but if you haven't played in that long and are lost, you're better off.
There’s a chest you can get from the hall of champions (the tiger logo space) grab that and then visit Ikora for the free subclass stuff,…there, you’re up to date.
They've had that management level failure before D1 even released, and the growing pains seem to have turned to permanent injuries, seeing as the amount of bottom rocks they have clanked has deepened the river of woes they keep creating for themselves.
Some of the Bungie devs have said how they listen to the community and want to fix things the fans complain about but they're literally not allowed to because of the higher ups preventing them. It's always been an issue at the management level
I was literally watching Moistcriticals stream last night and all they were doing was clowning on this new news because they know it’s just bungie trying to claw back their fans.
If you're referring to Into the Light, yeaaaah I have to sort of agree but at the same time it's basically the final step to mostly undo the sunset by bringing back iconic weaposn that shouldn't have been deleted in the first place and they went full "Fuck it, we ball" and made most of these weapons top of its class which I think was a great idea. Other than that, Onslaught's actually great even if we could do with more incentive and loot drops than 2 chests per 10 Legend wave and 3 at 50 especially with how difficult Legend can get. The timegate's also a painpoint but they reduced to to where I have no reason to complain of it anymore, helps focus on other things to not get too overwhelmed despite it'd be nice to go for all of them immediately. If you're referring to The Final Shape, how fucking pretentious do you have to be? New enemy faction, a subclass that combines the previous 5 in a neatly balanced way to work in concert with one another as a "Jack of all Trades, master of none" playstyle, a HUD rework and god knows what else they have under the hood. Like goddamn, bro.
@@TheCooldogmost people are still sour about the state of the game and the future of the game. Wait until final shape comes out and see how much people are hyping it or shitting on it.
@@TheCooldog Coolaid brother, they've burnt their bridges with many of us. Belatedly undoing what shouldn't have been done in the first place, because sh*t's hit the fan, isn't going to appease a sizeable % of those that have left due to repeated Bungie fails.
@@TheCooldogI played the game past witchqueen and since d1 beta. The game isn't all that anymore they've nickeled and dimed everyone and light fall was a heaping garbage pile of dlc. I have zero expectations for the new dlc if you still preorder shit then you get what you deserve. Like I said I used to love destiny but after you've been kicked the teeth so many times it makes it quite reasonable to have no expectations for bungo to do anything good. Ohh look I got to pay to get the shit that I already payed for back in the day how amazing and innovating 💀
Even if The Final Shape does well, I still hope Sony makes good on their threat and dissolves Bungie's upper management. They're only now trying to give us the best experience possible because the Sword of Damocles is hanging over their heads. If they beat the reaper, they'll slowly drift back to their old ways. If there's any hope of Destiny 3 being good (let alone existing at all), a whole new team of higher-ups need to be brought on. Then we cross our fingers and hope we didn't trade one poison for another.
Small correction, the Tormentors are the only ones in the game right now. The Subjugaters were gonna be added in The Final Shape, similar to how the Tormentors were added to the previous expansion, Lightfall. The rest of the Dread, were what was announced from the showcase recently, showing the new stuff coming to the final shape, atop of what we'd initially seen months ago.
As an old Destiny 1 verteran I am concluding the story with Final Shape but... I have no idea if I4ll stick up farther. The reason is simple, I have been burnt too many times by them by now, I have lost way too much money in content of Destiny that no longer is playable, content that I didn't even had the time to finish. So they'd better be pulling out an abvolutely insane stuff if they want me to keep on going after Final Shape. And lastly since you seemed interested in the new exotic class items, I am not it's just a new grind island like any other with no ways to get what you want how you want, just more grind ontop of already existing tedium.
Endwalker patch cycle has been the most disappointing patch cycle, content wise, we've had in 14 in a long time. Sure, nothing is outright bad, but the regular content has been as miniscule in amount than it has been for a long time, but a lot of the side content fails to stay consistently engaging for the whole of the community, imo.
I'll believe it when in playing it. If I play it. That's the hurdle they gotta go over. The cataclysmic amount of lost content and the fomo marketing of story beats.

I'm done being financially ab(used by Bungo. D2 storyline is moving nowhere and they keep rehashing old content. I enjoyed this game, it used to be so amazing. But I won't trust Bungo with my money ever again. D3 right now sounds like a farce. Like 'we can't keep D2 on track but imagine how much money D3 will make because players will have to buy all the content and cosmetics AGAIN! YAY!'
They fooled around with every single point of contact possible when it came to D2 after D1. They genuinely need to just pretend D1&2 don't exist at this point, because all of the luggage they have been carrying around isn't even a poisoned well anymore, it's just a hole in the Earth full of poison.
I honestly done care. I refuse to support companies like Bungie or Ubisoft that take away the games you purchased, and in the case of Bungie, took them away before service was discontinued. Unacceptable, they get no more of my money.
As a person who only just tried Destiny 2 when Sony dropped The Witch Queen for free and was MASSIVELY frustrated with the new player experience despite liking the core game (or maybe more frustrated because of how fun it should be), I'm happy for the people enjoying it but I'm not going to shed a dime to Bungie for any expansions if I still can't play a suitable version of the first two campaigns that the game just pretends already happened when you start.
I don't understand, people are excited because the new content is actually new content and not just re-textured things from the past? Is this really how low the bar is?
The funny thing is that the final shape is still reusing everything again. The campaign will be you going through locations that you've already been to in the past decade. They're bringing in environments that haven't even been in the game for longer than 5 years such as Europa. The subclasses are not new. It's just a paywall locking off our access to the same exact abilities we have been using for a fucking decade but now we get to combine them... This entire dlc is just supposed to be nostalgia bait, and d2 players are falling right into the same exact cycle they've been through a hundred times already.
For me the Lightfall was the last nail in the coffin of D2 and Bungie expansions. Doesn't matter if they try to cast "raise dead" with their new shiny 100$ expansion, the casket is buried 6 feet under.
Bungie will never again get a single cent, or minute of gameplay from me ever again after their handling of D2. They've completely soured any relationship they have with consumers. Supporting Bungie after all they've done to fuck over their fan base is likened to having Stockholm syndrome.
Really the only thing that'll make me come back to D2 is if they put all the content they've removed from the game that people have paid for, back in the game. I fell off around Lightfall, and it's been a while since I've been engaged with the lore. I'd love to re-experience that lore that I've paid for without having to listen to a Byf podcast or reading a blurb about Red War in game.
people were blown away, after setting the bar so appaulingly low that almost anything would have been better that what they last tried to schill for $100. trailers dont get me excited anymore really.
Hmm NEW ENEMY RACE, NEW SUBCLASS that is different to play than a Mono class, exotic class items. Like bro, they could do the best expansion ever and you'd still be negative. Just leave and stop commenting on D2 videos. You are the problem now.
I'm not spending another $ on D2. I actually got scammed. Everything is locked behind DLC. The base game is extremely barebones. They justify this by saying "Well, it's free to play", which IT IS NOT! I paid 60$ for it at launch.
Not gonna lie the combination of "Looter Shooter" genre and a "next sequel" always turns me off. It just makes you feel your progress and collection are useless. I hope D2 players have this W atleast, me? I already left D2 for Warframe. D2' monitization is just not for me, they already ruined my trust on them.
I love the idea of destiny being a game worth playing. Just as much as I loved it back when I played it. But as of right now, I'm too poor to play destiny, even if it was a game worth playing.
Far too little, FAR too late. I am not falling for a "we are sorry" just a bunch of PR. No I will not throw money at the screen. Now that Sony is putting the management to the coals. Soon as they get the players back and hype, its going to go back to the same under deliver bullshit.
I could see getting back into Destiny if they didn't have such a massive hardon for their seasonal content. I want to be able to buy a complete edition and play that.
Same, I will be waiting for an offline PC port of D1 (not the patches they released on top, I mean the original release that likely doesn't even exist anymore) until the day I die.
A friend of mine regularly plays with a bungie dev in... QA I believe but I am not entirely sure. And apparently trying not to leak these things accidentally was extremely hard.
Code name Payback they say? D3 mainstory would then be about taking back Torobatal, the Cabal homeworld from the Hive and I bet we won't be taking out Xivu Arath till then.
I really liked D2 when it first came out. Then I stopped playing. Now it seems like I can't even play the whole game without paying hundreds of $$$. If they release a "Complete edition" where you can actually play all the storylines and it NOT cost >$100 I would hop back in, but I am not holding my breath, lol.
As someone who has been playing Destiny 2 since the early days of the Forsaken expansion (2018), Lightfall really left a sour taste in my mouth. The gameplay was mid, the narrative was horrible and felt so out of place, and if you didn't purchase the seasons that followed, you had no idea what the campaign narrative was even about. Since then, I've definitely played less and less overtime; however, the Final Shape reveal really has me excited to play the game again. A new subclass, and finally a new enemy faction to fight, the exotic class items are going to take build crafting to a new level. Is the game "saved"? It's way too early to tell, but I haven't been this excited to play Destiny 2 in years.
Giving Bungie your money? Why? And why believe their hype now? They've got a platinum reputation for hyping, then letting down... I would bet every cent I have they're going to continue their track record of bullsh*t.
I've tried D2 and as of a couple months ago, it was pretty mediocre and not worth the install. If this is actually going to be worth a damn, it means bungie has to be backed into a corner with no way out to actually put effort into something. As soon as this is out, there is 0 guarantee they'll put effort into anything else
This Prismatic subclass is really going to need to be balanced well. Especially since this is mixing and matching different subclass abilities, otherwise what's going to keep people playing the other subclasses? It needs to be able to stand out on its own, without being too strong
It's not gonna be as insanely customizable as you may assume. Only a select few supers, grenades and Class abilities will be mix and matchable in each Class' prismatic.
Honestly bungie does this every dlc. They make an amazing show video, and get everyone hyped up. They hardly show gameplay. Then its mid at best. Lightfall was the last time I'll get burned by them. And I've bought every dlc d2 since forsaken release.
I'm just glad there's been some new content to farm. Shiny rolls for weapons has been an ok addition. Also I don't know what they've done but the fact they've brought back old weapons along with new content without any major problems. This has never happened before. Not even disconnects.
We've been here again and again since Curse Of Osiris. Not gonna hold my breath for the expansion until it's released with all of it's content and seeing how Bungie monetizes the game even further.
That may be but a large amount of people watch him AND others who agree with his sentiment. That also are content creators for the game. And do be a proper content creator for the game you need to delve into the deepest reaches for research on the game and its workings. So people look to them.
Honeslty this is kinda within the realm of what I expected lmao. The prismatic subclass is cool. It's not necessarily new but its cool. But the only thing that I think wouldn't have been expected is if they brought back the old raids. Which is in my opinion something that they should still do. And if THAT is something that we weren't expecting then that shows just how the community will accept anything as above and beyond at this point. We already had the stasis and strand guys revealed to us. The new little guys that fight alongside with them are also cool and are also one of the only things that IS in fact new. The story content probably didn't change a single iota. The content within the dlc probably hasn't actually changed. Are they changing strikes or gambit at all? Have no idea. They pretty much only showed the "new" subclass and the ACTUALLY new enemies and while that's cool. Is it really unexpected? Like, we've been theory crafting what the final faction was gonna be for a looooong time. Who's to say that these enemies weren't gonna release with the episodes further down the line? So instead, they delay it altogether and actually release a large package as opposed to only saving what's genuinely new for those episodes. If anything, I'm more excited FOR those episodes cause now they ACTUALLY need to put new stuff inside them for the year of destiny to feel good as opposed to just the dlc being great and year sucking (i.e. witch queen) and not the other way around (i.e. lightfall). I might be in the minority in that. But I'm not gonna pretend that all this content that we SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN with the original trailer shouldn't. Who would have guessed that shipping something not fully baked would have been a bad idea 😂
The capstone update for D1 reintroduced raids while simultaneously ruining the entire experience the game had to offer. If they did that for D2 I might actually consider a party in honor of it's death just for the sake of it.
All of this is fine and dandy but until they condense the purchasing process and make everything affordable, I'm still not playing. Too much content behind different packs and I'm not spending the 150-200 bucks of stuff I'm missing to catch up and have everything available.
I think people are getting too excited. They haven't showed us hardly anything. Am I the only person who doesn't care about prismatic? It's completely breaking the other classes. I mean why would you run the other classes when you can run them all together? I was really hoping for another actual class instead of prismatic.
I’m old enough to remember after initial purchase of Destiny at launch when Bungie skeezily raised the required light level in my already bought content, and THEN sold the gear to raise it in new non purchased content. That was when I left. The writing was on the wall. If what we pay for was going to be unplayable unless we gave them more money, they were going to hold our bought content hostage for more money every time we already bought it. I don’t feel bad for anyone playing that game from that duplicitous company. It’s their own fault for not having standards. That game is a money toilet. And Luke Smith has always been a pos.
@@jackdaw1329 Nobody is looking for a remake, only the original. That's not nostalgia, it's theft. Often people go back to a game they played and pick up right where they left off, can't say the same for how Bungie handles anything.

They can take a few months to work on a patch if they wanted. Interest will always return after big patches. I rather them focus on improving the QOL of the game, than working super fast to push small things.
If you don't want people thinking your game is soon to be over, don't use "The final X" as your expansion title. Why would anyone want to give time to something they know is ending?
Well if the bar was on the ground to begin with any little bit of height would blow expectations. Mix & match might exciting, but the same greedy practices which chased people away won’t magically go away.
I'll legit only play Destiny 3 if they change the engine. It's crazy how much the Tiger Engine (Blam) has fricked up the game's design. I think the worst part IMO is that it limits the amount of enemies that can spawn.
10 000 hours of WoW. 3000 hours of Destiny 2. Now I'm completely free, Wow for years and Destiny 2 for over 8 months. A thought of playing either, giving either Bungie or Blizzard any money, fills me with utter disgust and anger. Bungie for mostly personal reasons and a total lack of any customer support and Blizzard for being sexual creeps and disrespecting their customers at large. So happy there are so many other games out there. Being on top really fucks up a company and it inevitably turns everyone working for it into evil humans, shirking all responsibility, only else seen in humans when working for a government or claiming to "just following orders".

Am i only one that was hoping destiny was over. I loved the game for long time but bad expansion and suits destroyed my love of the game. I just want to franchise to end. Hearing its continuing changed my mind from ok ill play the story and bounce to im not touching it because i know they just going to keep trying to stretch fan base as much time and money as they can.
Destiny kind of lost me. Feels good to play, but the gear score grinding was always annoying, and being gone then coming back its like "well here grind up score again!" So i play a little and quit again
I truly believe that big game companies should be investing their time into Engine development through games. Much like Fortnite and the Unreal engine, have a company centered on the engine, and people will come. Then have your development teams for games work with the engine developers to use the engine and improve it through application. It would create a lot of flexibility for game developers, and improve the final product.
I preordered because I know for a fact I will be playing the new content and I know I will be playing the episodes following it. Not to mention I wanted the collector's edition content that I got, however, I definitely agree that unless you know for a fact you'll be sinking countless hours into this, you shouldn't preorder. I preordered because I love this game even with its faults.
My question is, how much of the "above expectations" comes from the fact that repeated failures have tempered expectations to the point that a win of today is comparatively not much of a win from highs of the past? Remember why the game struggled as much as it did? Developer complacency born out of player acceptance of mediocrity is a thing, and its how you got to where you are now.
I played D2 for 500-ish hours, so no complaints. I survived the completely bizarre new player experience, but it wasn't easy. I got my degree in figuring out Bungie DLC. I had my fun before it became insanely repetitive and dull. I have no idea what the story is about and don't care. But I'm done. Lightfall was a mess to me. I'll try D3 if it's free-to-play. XD
I played destiny 2 back in 2020, bought the current expansion and once i beat the quests, realised that I would have to pay EVERY SINGLE SEASON PASS TO ACCESS CONTENT. Don't put words in my mouth brah, you also have to realize that for the amount you pay in a year. Hell if you even buy the 100$ deluxe to get all of the seasons , dungeons and stuff...is it really that bad? How many hours can you get out of all of that content? Generally more than 100.
They lost me essentially since Osiris. Went for Cades gun but never touched the game since then. Plus I actually switched to Linux and the game went unplayable for me. No loss for me.
I don't understand how people are so hyped over the new mode. It's a 10 year old map, a 10 year old orb deposit mechanic, and 10 year old enemies mashed up together??
20:07 In any case, never preorder unless it's an indirect way to support a past product. I preordered D2 only because of how much I enjoyed D1. I quit at the last few days of Warmind, and am still unmoved to return in the slightest. Despite lectures or urges to not preorder, you should at the very least see some form of core gameplay loop the expansion is going to offer before actually gunning for it.
@Bellular you're wrong! The Into the Light is actually very good. Not just fun. The weapons, the free armor upgrade to 1810, and other rewards are really exciting. Morover the Black Shader!!!
Imagine if vanilla launched with only spiders, turtles, constructs and plague zombies as enemies and new enemies weren't added until dragonflight, and it only happend because microsoft didn’t like the performance of shadowlands.
Destiny 2 is just too expensive to fully enjoy. There’s so much older content that is super fun and still relevant. Yet accessing all of it costs a ridiculous amount of money. At the bare minimum the need to streamline the normal story campaigns and make it free to anyone with the latest expansion.
Destiny 2 died for me at the last expansion. at this point idk the story anymore. going in Id be playing completely blind ;/ Destiny is major fomo, a disappointment. micro-transactions and high price dlc ruined this game
Too little too late, for me. I'm tired of spending like 50 dollars every year for content they're just gonna delete in 12 months anyway. The new shit looks cool, and I hope those who stick around enjoy it, but... I'm just TIRED of Destiny. I'm tired of 'Deleted Content; The Game'. Even WITH the new stuff, I'm not excited, since I know from experience that they're just gonna nerf it all through the floor after a couple months, because that's ALWAYS what happens. I've tried to stick around and wait for the game to get better, but it hasn't, so... good luck to the rest of you.
The stuff they showed off (extra "subclass", and the exotic class armor) are both incredibly limited. One super/melee/grenade/aspect from each damage type and it's not even the best choices per elemental subclass. The exotic class armor only is usable on the incredibly limited "subclass" and is only limited to a select few options that it can roll with. Neither are nearly as modular as everyone was initially theorizing. If you would like more information visit bungie's own website. One of their most recent blog posts goes indepth with Prismatic and I could not possibly be more underwhelmed for it.
I can't wait for final shape to release and see everyone be disappointed once again. D2 players deserve it for overhyping another soon to be mediocre trash can of a dlc
Going to tell you the harsh truth and here it is some think Final Shape is out already and are asking about the new stuff that isn't even out and to make it worse for them it's funnier when they try to do a legend story mode without comprehending how to damage special shielded enemies. Essentially the new subclass is supposed to mitigate this a bit more yet it's not here gameplay for some will be easier as for now Destiny 2 is still in the same state it was before. As for the story just add this in it's looking ok at best with the lore provided in the Collectors Edition making more ppl wonder. So for the new folks to learn to read,
Into The Light plus the Final Shape preview has only strengthened my feeling that the fuckups at Bungie have been executive/project management driven.

The cycle continues. It's back to stage one "The Hype"
Destiny, the game we love to hate and hate to love.
They always do.
I use to play D2 with a friend pretty consistently
After Lightfall dropped we where SO disappointed about the quality of the content, that we both stopped playing D2 and moved on
As a busy Adult, I have limited play time, so there’s no time for playing an awful game
It’s all been admitted in within Bungie that TFS was supposed to be content in Lightfall but the Execs wanted to split the content and drag out player interaction to charge for more
Beyond Light was when I had enough. I wanted them to convince me to come back and play it but the game just kept getting worse. It wasn't until last year that I said I'd never come back no matter what because the things they were doing were some of the scummiest I'd seen.
I guess when you're expecting the worst, anything looks good at this point.
For me, this is more a case of 'I did expect nothing and yet you've managed to disappoint me' by now.
Pretty much. Like I don't get why people are holding out hope. They fired the main composer for the game. He's gone. It will never be the same.
@@ADreamingTraveler because things are acctually good and its a game people have been playing for 10+ years and dont want to die. why did people think halo infinite would be good when 343 has been consistant crap? its good when its good. and horrible when its bad.
Small CORRECTION & few points:
1) ONLY Tormentors are currently in the game (introduced in Lightfall)
2) Subjucators were introduced 7 months ago but are NOT currently in the game
3) The new Prismatic Subclass is NOT entirely free-for-all. There are a curated list of abilities and aspects unique to each class that we will be able to mix and match - 1 from each element per class
4) The new exotic armour pieces for Prismatic will go in the Class Item armour slot and randomly roll with 2 ALTERED perks from other exotics. They won’t have the full original exotic capability, but a part of it and will be shared across all classes - so Warlocks can use bits of a Hunter exotic etc. Again, it is presumed this will be from a curated list of exotic perks as they are altered from the original full strength exotics.
Basically;
- 7 months ago with the first gameplay reveal they showed off 3 new Light supers (1 per class) and showed off their new enemy, the Subjucator
- It seems VERY odd that they didn’t talk about the new Prismatic subclass (while hyping up the 3 new Light supers) OR the full suite of the Dread enemy race back then
- This is why we believe the Prismatic subclass and the rest of the Dread faction were likely worked on completely from scratch since that first reveal 7 months ago (perhaps even after they announced the delay)
Potential problems;
- If they only decided the introduce the new enemy race a few months ago, how will that be able to be incorporated seamlessly into the story….??
- they would have to do a complete overhaul of enemy spawns/encounters across the entire expansion to include them
- they would also need to do a balance pass on enemy spawns/encounters across the entire expansion to take into consideration the new subclass….
- 3 is what we should really expect from an expansion
- If they had originally worked on giving us 2 (or hopefully 3) new strikes, then presumably they would have to put together a 3rd (or even 4th) additional strike for the new Dread faction….
For some new people trying to get into Destiny 2 the constant complaint I hear is how confusing the questing and content is.
its not questing being complex its the fact that you have to pay $100 a year to play all the content and like $200 to catch up to current content. then the content LuLz half way through season.
questing is iverly simple where non casuals hate it
Questing is only cohesive when they are saying farewell, a little red flag in case you see it waving here soon.
when I started playing D2 (it was only 4 yrs ago) literally everyone in game warned me about financial ab(use. I didn't listen, I paid hundreds of $ to buy all the content. And funny thing about D2 is that you have to pay and pay non-stop to keep playing the same old content!
The questing, the gameplay is awesome and fun, but the story for the new players will be confusing AF but it's not a problem really..
compared to the amount of financial investment this game really requires 😱
Sometimes Bungo just gives away 50-70$ packages of content (we paid for!).

They'll finally reveal Sunsetting 2

Then after picking that up do either crucible, the free dungeon and or the 3 free raids….u can kinda work from there.
Ya can just watch videos of the story to the current one. Also asking for help would be a good idea if you’re not sure what to do in the game.
First we learn Guild Wars 3 is in the works, now Destiny 3, if only Valve could learn to count now, we'd be in a good spot
if it takes a studios game hitting rock bottom to turn things around you've an endemic failure at the management level.

The new enemy types are all new except one, The Tormentors. The Subjugators were revealed for Final Shape back when.
If they can make D3 as fun as the OG Destiny and its classless, i would definitely give the game a try again!
Still not preordering. Until it is fully out, it's just all talk to build hype and increase preorder numbers.
so true people are ignorant and will get hyped over trailers 😂😂
It has bled out a lot of people. Also the uncertainty of the game's future along with the commitment to downloading it in the first place.

It's like if a 'sunk cost fallacy' had an older brother that was into drugs.
Byeeeeee.
So basically they put in effort and it's blowing the communities mind, that's just sad.
people were blown away, after setting the bar so appaulingly low that almost anything would have been better that what they last tried to schill for $100. trailers dont get me excited anymore really.

Lightfall left a sour taste in lots of people's mouths.
They probably won't have the other ones anymore once fully implemented
It's not gonna be as insanely customizable as you may assume. Only a select few supers, grenades and Class abilities will be mix and matchable in each Class' prismatic.
Honestly bungie does this every dlc. They make an amazing show video, and get everyone hyped up. They hardly show gameplay. Then its mid at best. Lightfall was the last time I'll get burned by them. And I've bought every dlc d2 since forsaken release.
Beware of the Bungie hype. The core gameplay loops will most likely still suck. Wait for honest reviews before buying
Sir, Aztecross of all people does NOT speak for me.
I second that. His voice is like nails on chalkboard.
@e3.14c4 so would I. If you're gonna kill game balancing how bout bring us all the content you got rid of 😂
Me, watching destiny apologists getting excited for the 6th time in a row:
"Fool you once, huh?"
One more time for the people in the back
Do🗣Not🗣Preorder
Great now let's keep bungie backed into a corner by not pre-ordering everything as soon as it's available for pre-order
…they could just be talking about the 3 end chapters. You all are getting hyped for no reason.
They still need to gives us back the content we paid for that they took away
Nostalgia can suck real hard, be careful what you wish for
@@jackdaw1329 Nobody is looking for a remake, only the original. That's not nostalgia, it's theft. Often people go back to a game they played and pick up right where they left off, can't say the same for how Bungie handles anything.
@@e3.14c4
The EULA and live service model already tells you that you rent the content and don't own it.
Don't like it?
Take the door and leave, less money for Bungie!
@@ginopippofrebooter-ilrinne2881ah true, they still opened up with a fantastic idea to start, it's just a shame what it has become.
Buy things and have them taken away then bungie tries to sell it back to me lol no way. Stopped playing that garbage years ago people need to learn to let go.
Perhaps I have become jaded from the influence that Activision execs have had on Bungle; all I see is a way for Bungie-vision to turn these features and their usage into a micro transaction hellscape.
Destiny 3?
But "destiny" was SUPPOSED to be a 10 year game........ "Destiny 2" should JUST be coming out, instead it's ending...... So more like a 5 year game..... And actually not even that, because most of the game can't even be played anymore..... No one with a brain should be excited for destiny 3.
1:00 That's a massive red flag as much as it was back in D1 days, but I am hopeful that this observation will be unfounded.
Thanks for the reporting you guys do, and always give any great or bad news for rhe state of gaming
Honesty if you're still paying for the experience of gettinf stuff you payed for already then thats enough said. 🤷♂️ cant wait to hear everyones hyping this shit up just for it to be mid or flop again I have zero expectations for bungo
They can take a few months to work on a patch if they wanted. Interest will always return after big patches. I rather them focus on improving the QOL of the game, than working super fast to push small things.
Hhhmmm nothing about what are we getting taken king like or forsaken like content? I'll just wait until they put it on sale
Huh, hope it works out for them. As it is, they are disqualified from my money, so they will have to succeed without my support.
Why make Destiny 3? Same reason they made two, so they could make players buy everything again.
I'll legit only play Destiny 3 if they change the engine. It's crazy how much the Tiger Engine (Blam) has fricked up the game's design. I think the worst part IMO is that it limits the amount of enemies that can spawn.
yay an update to another MTX SCAM how not to get excited you can spend even more money on virtual crap smart yes 😂 😂 😂
i really wanted 1 more darkness class before the prismatic shit, it should have being 3 and 3 perfectly balance
You know I think there a saying "You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain" I think this could be a good way to describe the Triple A industry a lot of great people/companies who end up becoming really shitty...
3000 hours in destiny in less than a year? There's only 8.7k hours in a full year wtf!
the game is so boring I tested their events I didn't last 10 minutes there's no research I'm going back to play Warframe
They haven’t increased light level since the launch of Lightfall
@@lamp6381 i probably haven't played since then. When i went last all my characters were automatically leveled up and set to 1600 or something.
Bungie when their about to die is at their best.
XD
Great that they've threaded the needle - but I've been expecting a finished coat this June. I hope it's excellent, but this is step 0 in the road.
I played destiny 2 back in 2020, bought the current expansion and once i beat the quests, realised that I would have to pay EVERY SINGLE SEASON PASS TO ACCESS CONTENT. That simply made me drop the game. Not only its confusing, but its weirdly monetized. It's like paying for patches in WoW + the expansion.
I mean. You do this in wow without realizing when having a subscription ?
@@karson2022 no, its different. I can wait for all patches to release in wow, pay ONE sub and do all content in one month. In destiny, I would have to pay every single season, or buy a deluxe edition.
@@user-fv7jd4xj5n It really aint tho, how many times a year do you tend to come back and play for a patch to do the new things? Since if this is the argument you can just wait for the seasons and stuff to go on sale and buy it for what, thirty maybe forty bucks ?
@@karson2022 when playing destiny 2, I enjoyed it to the point of playing non stop. I would keep playing but they lock you out of content behind a paywall. Destiny is not a game I wanna play for story quests, then I'm forced to buy seasons to keep doing new things, which is just bad.
In wow and ff14 I don't feel locked behind anything because I play for lore. Destiny 2 is more like ESO when it comes to monetization.
if I gotta wait the entire expansion to buy the gameplay content in a bundle, why even bother?
It's clear you like destiny 2 and so do I, but you don't gotta shill for weird monetization tactics or a poorly managed game.
@user-fv7jd4xj5n you cannot sit here and defend wow & blizzards monetization. Nor have I been defending bungos seasonal model.
I’m hopeful that the new expansion will blow people away as in a good thing. I preordered the game, cannot wait.
You missed Forsaken.
Poor, poor man.
@@ginopippofrebooter-ilrinne2881lol, truly a bullet was dodged.

Nah.
Forsaken era for many was better than Taken King.
I feel sorry you didn't experience it.
@@ginopippofrebooter-ilrinne2881I don't, I thought it looked like a dumpster fire.
Just wanted to add a minor correction, only the tormentors are currently in the game.
