- Steve can't decide if he wants to swing or bash in the hysterical comedy that's a little swing, rock, funk, AND double-bass. Plus over doing the 5 against 2 fills! Tune in for the latest episode of quarantine imrpov!
That was a very musical and tastefully done drum solo. Loved how you played around with time while keeping the pulse
The cabin fever has hit you, hard man. Incredible as ever Steve. Always very inspiring to watch you perform well-executed drum playing. Thanks for the upload!
Man!! This is just on another level! This piece reminds me alot of Keith Carlock! Please tell me you drum somewhere full time for your profession so there is still hope left in the music business?!?! 😃
Your drum sound is nastier than ever! Great playing as always!

Been waiting forever for new material 🤘 glad to hear from you
SO freaking GOOD!
Steve you get better every year! I've been stalking, ahem.... "following" you since 2002 when I was trying to find the Chick Corea Live at the Blue Note Tokyo video and I found your website. Thanks to you, I can (try) to play the Blushda today of your instructional video... which was the first on the interwebs! If you did a "where are they now" video about the cast of the "Traditional Grip: The Movie" video that would be hilarious. By the way, your Peart tribute was GREAT too!!!! Thanks for all of the inspiration!
Jay thanks so much!
How am I just now discovering him?!?! So glad I did though. Amazing control over the instrument. Unreal!!
Very cool...I’m right there with you only a little different...😎
Damn....man....
You’re rock🤘
Who are you & where did you come from? 👍🙂 Dammmmn!🙂
Hell yeah, Steve!
I really enjoy listening to Steve, he is just an underrated giant, so much to learn from him...There is another guy that I really listen very carefully, and belongs to the same category of giants, however very underrated, Reinhard Melz,,,,, He is the guy playing in Gino Vanelli's live band. Whoever can creatively interpret Mark Carney and Vinnie, that's the guy,,,,
Hi Steve Holmes! I just discovered you (where have I been all my life!!!???) New subscriber. Uh, that was fantastic! Someone outta lock you up more often! :)
That is some grrrrreat drumming bro
Such a monster!!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Wow, that was nice, thanks dude
Wow.........
THAT'S what's up!
You’re so good......
Very nice. I’m curious on what kind of drum set you use ? Brand etc...
Beautiful technique as always Steve! Out of curiosity, your technique is based on Spivack, Gruber any of those, none or a combination of various like Moeller, Gladstone etc.? Thanks!
Looks like a Vinnie influence to me.
Yes👌🏽🎶
i feel
Yo Steve! Any chance you could do a breakdown of the groove at the start of "Chasin' the Train" from Chick Corea's Late at the Tokyo Blue Note?
Would love to see you dissect that!
Ben tornato🤟
Schweet! Show us all how the Eminem-Godzilla challenge is supposed to sound!
B
Very nice ! But why black and white ?
Probably trying to hide those drummer arm pit stains.
I think it's sad that assholes like Weckl get all this attention, and people as talented as kind as you don't get more opportunities to share your stories and knowledge.
Psh, my grandma can play better
