      I remember how fun the rent scooters were when i went to the beach some years back and when I walked into a best buy i saw the scooters and remembered how fun it was to ride them. I later decided to buy one and I based my choice of which scooter to get based on range and speed. I wanted the 50 mile range and up to 20mph speed so I went with my first scooter being an Okai neon pro I bought at best buy for 624.99. It was on sale for 225 off. What do you think is that a good first scooter?

    Thanks for the in-depth reviews and comparisons guys! Thanks to this channels extensive real world testing, I landed on a Solar P1 2.0 and couldn't be happier. Great company, GREAT product and very responsive service as well. Definitely worth going with a responsive, service oriented company rather than the mass market Amazon stuff.

    My first scooter was (and still is, I'm still using it) a Okai Neon 1
    Compared a lot of scooter under 1k, found this one and needed something that make me visible at night since I'm coming back from work at around 10pm. This one had nice led strip on the front and bottom, lcd display and the motor is actually very good, able to climb hill without any problem (exept some steep one) and have regenerative braking applied automaticly if I pass 30km/h in a slope to bring me back to 25km/h which is actually very nice for safety, especially for new riders

    Something that I feel is overlooked are repair locations. Many compagnies offer to sell parts for your scooter if something breaks, but many people just don’t have the knowledge or are just too scared to mess it up. When that happens, people that can repair scooters are rare or just nonexistent. Appollo in canada has repair services at multiple locations, so I know that if something major breaks, I could always go there. Though, it’s better if nothing breaks because repairing is expensive

    My first scooter was an okai which was like a rental scooter you can see everywhere.
    I had mantis 8 dual motor after I sold okai. I loved mantis 8 but got sick of the rear tire problems and sold it too. Besides I did not think it is so safe riding 30 mph on a 8-10 inch tire vehicle.
    Finally I bought a brand new segway g30 max which is a rental scooter as well as my first scooter.
    I bought ninebot because I started to think these scooters should not be faster than 20 mph and not supposed to be heavier than 20 kg.

  • @awakeningcry

    My first scooter was the Segway-Ninebot Max, because it seemed to be the best build quality and overall performance at that price point. I got it from a Dutch website (I'm in the UK) and ended up paying well over £100 LESS than if I'd bought it from a British vendor. Didn't get on wth the tubeless tyres though, as the seal between the valve and tyre wall kept breaking down... but only on the rear tyre (with the motor). Have been eyeing up the Emove Cruisers for nearly 3 years, and I'm glad I waited, because the new S model has the thumb throttle. Shame they've increased the top speed though; I'd never need to go more that 25mph, let alone 30, so that could have a cost saving measure.

KQi3 Max looks to have nice build quality and slightly higher top speed than the G2, but the G2 looks as good in build quality and does offer suspension. Any recommendations ?

    I bought my first e-scooter based on build quality and reliability. So for me the Segway g30 LP was my first choice. Just a few days ago I picked up the Segway ninebot S. Then the plan so far goes to the E-move cruiser w/seat --- $1500, start e-bike journey to include my kids with LECTRIC Utility ebike --- $1700 or RadioFLYER Utility --- $2200, then something wacky like the JACKRABBIT $1000, then the ISINWHEEL fat ebike $800 and then go a little faster ride in an E-move Roadrunner Pro --- $2200, then get on the MEEPO or ISINWHEEL skateboard --- $500 and Endeavor2Pro --- $2000, then a Magwheel similar to Onewheel --- $1200, then to a REVV1 similar to Super73 --- $2500, then to Inmotion V12 EUC --- $2500, then up it to an Extreme Bull K6 --- $5000 and then top it off with a crazy WEPED Sonic/cyberfold/foldcampo --- $8000 and Dualtron Limited --- $8000 for giggles.
    Basically all these are less than the cost of a new Tesla Model Y ~50k post $7500 tax credit. How does those stack up as my ultimate garage bundle? Different styles for different moments in loife. Berri No-ICE.

I would just run my 19 mph scooter often in my daily trek.... well, I just broke the neck jumping a normal curb on my way to work.... you need to learn on a starter board... to learn your needs in your upgrade... highboy s2 Promax is great for aggressive boys at 10-16. Great starter unit. But kugoo is the next best intermediate upgrade till this market really takes off

    I have a girl friend, she n I are new to escooters, she RV’s n wants a escooter but space and weight are a consideration, lifting it into the rv etc, but the problem is most campgrounds are gravel, grassy like dirt paths, or rough pavement, she just wants to commute around the campgrounds, she cares more about suspension of some sort for the rough roads and paths. Speed, and distance n price aren’t factors. It’s the size and weigh of the thing and having some shock absorption so riding it isn’t like some old horse wagon, lol. Can you make a suggestion please? 🍻

    I've been doing some shopping around lately and am having trouble locking one down, if anyone in the comments could provide some insight?
    I've had the HiBoy S2 MAX which has been doing the job just fine, but I was looking to step up to a more long range scooter.
    At first most everywhere suggests the Emove Cruiser S for a budget long range that punches above it's price for range and features, but when I asked my local scooter shop, I was given the weirdest eyerolls from the locals and shop owner, which is strange if everyone gives it good ratings, then why does any human recommend against it?
    They offered instead the new Segway Ninebot P100s for the similar range and more solid looking build, but it was $600 more.
    Also whenever I try to research the P100s personally, there are little to no reviews nor comparisons.
    Is there anyone out there who can help with a wise word?

      Research the scooter you want and then find a few much more expensive and faster scooters, keep badging your parents with details of these ultra fast and expensive scooters, when they’ve nearly been worn down, show them the cheaper, slower and more importantly, safer scooter that you wanted all along. They be so relieved they’ll probably pay for it themselves. Good luck.

      @zsoms:
      1. It sounds cliché, but prove to them that road safety is just as important to you as it is to them e.g, reflectors, helmet and other safety gear-buy bubble wrap if you have to!
      2. Ask if you could rent (or borrow one), and invite them to join you for a walk/e scooter ride.
      3. Offer them to give it a try on your walk.
      4. Tell them you’ll only ride it with them present until they feel confident to let you go JUST TO A FRIEND’S HOUSE, around the corner or up the street and back.
      5. Encourage your parents to get one!
      6. Make it about family fun vs an electric death trap!
      7. Pray for 1-6 because I’m not your parent-just a mom. Good luck!

    I owned a NIU kqi3 max for about 15 days before the throttle broke and I got the 03 error. I tried to reach out multiple times to get the scooter fixed but I got no response after 5 days. I ended up just returning it to best buy. For a two year warranty as one of there main selling points I am quite disappointed. For the time I had it it was okay. Range was around 12-15 miles on a full battery which compared to the stated range is horrible. Speeds were good around 21-22 mph. Don't know If I just had a really bad experience or other people had this happen as well. I would probably not recommend this because of this. Great video though, definitely want another scooter just don't want another experience like that!

    I picked my entry level scooter by weight and cost. Only 20lbs! 13mph, 8-9mile range (company said 12 but we all know how that goes) $300. When a cell busted, reducing range to 6 miles, I couldn't find a place to fix it so I replaced it with a one 5lbs heavier, a tiny bit more beefy motor, and only $200. I've also a fluid horizon 13ah for fun and better range.

    There's a fair amount of compromises with a lot of these scooters. If you have the funds, I suspect a lot of folks would opt for two scooters to better meet their needs for different requirements/times. I have a Mantis V2 for when I want to throw the scooter in the car or take short rides around town. I pre-ordered an Inmotion RS for a lot more speed and range when portability isn't an issue.

    Last week, I purchased the Xiaomi 4 Ultra to replace the Niu KQi Max. The reason for this switch was that the Niu KQi Max exhibited significant braking weakness, unresponsiveness, and gliding issues even when fully charged at speeds of 15-20 km/h. Additionally, I had to be cautious while driving at low speeds for a few hundred meters to decrease the battery level by 1% in order to restore the brake system to normal. Niu released two sets of firmware updates, K3E09J25 and K3MAXH07, to address this widespread issue through OTA updates. However, after two weeks, the scooter firmware malfunctioned, and the old problem resurfaced. It is worth mentioning that Niu's local customer service was very friendly and the company was responsible. They were willing to provide a full refund for the scooter I had been using for six months. The entire return process went smoothly.

      Good to know. The dual disc brakes on the KQi3 Max are among the strongest I’ve ever felt on a single motor scooter. So even without regen, I feel like the brakes would still be very strong. We’re the disc brakes working correctly, as far as you can tell? -Paul

    • @liuzhen1220
      @liuzhen1220 11 місяців тому

      @@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Under normal conditions (below 100% battery), the braking system of the KQI Max is very powerful and efficient. Even though I am currently using the brand new Xiaomi 4 Ultra, I still miss the KQI dual-disc brakes and bright headlights. However, could you retest the braking system in fully 100% battery, sport mode, and with regenerative braking disabled to see if there is any delay in the braking system? I really hope that this is just an isolated case and not a common issue that persists even after OTA firmware updates, as it greatly affects driving safety.
