- Dr Nneka Nwokolo sat down with me to discuss her research on women living with HIV (particularly those experiencing menopause) the need for better representation in clinical studies, and what it means to have a viral blip and the implications for our health and transmission risk of HIV.

Love your work Raif! Keep raising awareness that’s how we are gonna beat this thing!!!!!
I liked a lot to listen to this Women
Looking forward to your video on the alleged failure of EBT: if the latest news are correct, it's extremely sad and disappointing.
Thanks Raif l am glad you are interviewing people who tell transparency with the HIV information, l am from Namibia in the southern part of Africa who is living with HIV,things are different in low income Country's,not alot of research done, the government is working to improve study on HIV.
You’re welcome! I will continue to push to being more content addressing low income countries too 🙏🏽
I am against the word "prioritizing" and the cliché "representation" PEOPLE whether biological males or females, black, white, latino or asian, new born or dying, should have a universal clinical scope. "prioritizing" is pitting us on who gets treatment first. Equity is including biological women in research. 22% of HIV cases is heterosexual while 67% is male to male contact - it is no wonder that studies in women is low - because women cases are significantly lower. Let's have Equity, not "priority".
You actually look pretty good for your age. You’re 38, but for a while, I thought you were like in your mid 20s. Nice to see you thriving healthily with a disease that was once a death sentence
Thank you Raif ❤️
Are there some new informations about the cure ?
We need information for cur
Sir your are doing great 👍👍👍
I just had ARV therapy today🙏 it's really been a long journey in my life💪
Viiv, ok , but who “discovered” the best treatment fo hepatitis C ? Gilead!
❤
I just got diagnosed with HIV, I’m scared and I don’t know what to do. I beg my doctor for year for Prep and he never make sense and he think I was crazy. I don’t go around and have sex but have a partner that never tested before but I thought he knew his status, we been in a relationship for 2 years now. And I’m pissed I’m mad I wanna cry I wanna disappear don’t wanna tell nobody. What is the life expectancy? What can u expect ? Can I take part of clinical trial?
I’m so confused.. thanks for any answer
Get on antiretrovirals and find an infectious disease doctor. You are going to be fine! Trust me! It’s just one pill once a day with minimal side effects with a normal life expectancy.
@@ThomasAlexander734 I did started right away on Art - Biktarvy to be exact but is it possible to go on Cabenuva after reaching a stable CD4 and a U=U.
@@ThomasAlexander734 thank you so much. How people deal with the scare of treatment failure. 😞 I try to drink my medication everyday at 12 pm since is a safe time for me but before that I’m really stress about the time. I wonder if I should still consider big life steps , like buying house , get loan etc since I don’t know how people do this
@@lindomuchacho1958 Yes, don't give up on your dreams or life goals. Having HIV shouldn't stop you from achieving anything. Buy a house and do everything that you were going to do before your diagnosis. Just make sure to take your medicine everyday and you will be fine ❤️😇
Couple things is first, take a breath. You're going to be ok. If you don't already find a primary care doctor that your comfortable with and has HIV treatment as a specialty. Third, take a breath. You're going to live almost as long and normally as a negative person, and maybe longer as you'll have more regular checkups. Once you start drugs and become undetectable, you'll also be unable to transmit to others, which takes a lot of stress out of sex. Also don't freak out too much about your drugs. Consistency is important, but a few hours here or there isn't going to change anything. Lastly just know, there are so many more of us out there then you can imagine and you're going to be ok.

I at first wonderd why focusing on women in the context of HIV...
Because while they *can* pass in on to others, it is in general less of a risk in their case.
Then I remembered... Manstration.
While not actually blood, and more necrotic tissue, it is *still* capable of carrying HIV. And it will likely remain viable *on it* for longer.
It’s good to note that more than half of the world’s population of people living with HIV are women, too
@@RaifDerrazi
Well, they have a better IS...
Men will develop AIDS and die within months.
...
Though my own hypothesis, is that Semen absorbtion activates a person's IS and helps to mend it.
And women who *get it* will be fine as long as they can keep *getting topped up.*
A good way to test that would be checking among MSM(Men who have Sex with Men) those who die the most, are those who bottom least.
Note I did not say they *get HIV* the most.
But when you normalize(control) for the likelyhood of getting HIV... (Bottoms get most, Tops least, is known, but once they get it, for whom it will progress the fastest with no treatment? My hypothesis is that the tops do.)
Thanks Raif! You should be getting paid 6 figures for the work you do and bringing us information! I went to nursing school in my 20s, didnt finish but am going back in my early 40s. I want to emphasize working with hiv patients as i can relate.
I agree that HIV will still be around in 2030. I do believe however that by 2050 a cure will be available. Thanks for being you and doing all you do. As well as having a big heart. Sending love from Pennsylvania! ❤
2025???😭

Go see a doctor.
You seem to have anxiety, and should avoid sex till you get your anxiety looked at, ..you are negative but still paranoid that you have HIV.
