  • If the high pressure fuel pump sustains damage, it will significantly affect the vehicle's acceleration, fuel efficiency, and overall performance. In such instances, replacement becomes necessary. But the pump carries a significantly high price tag. The cost of repairing services will be higher as well.     Perfect video. Used it, changed all seals. But now my car stalls when accelerating hard. It shut off engine. After 10s i can run car normally again. If drive slowly everything works. If i just press more pedal it stops. I didnt polish any surfaces. Maybe thats the problem...

      The fuel supply line between the high pressure pump and fuel filter needs to be checked. Also check fuel pump (in tank) pressure. Remove the hose from the diesel filter to the pressure pump. Crank and verify that sufficient diesel is coming from the hose end. Finally the high pressure pump should be checked to see if it is providing sufficient pressure. Thanks

      It started after rebuilding this pump. So i think i messed something. Can the issue be that owertightened the four nuts of each cilinder head?

      No chance. A diesel engine can stall for a number of reasons, including:
      Fuel system issues: A lack of fuel, dirty fuel injectors, or a clogged fuel filter can cause a diesel engine to stall. A clogged diesel filter can cause the engine to stutter, jerk, or stall when accelerating.
      Airflow issues: A clogged air filter can cause a car to feel sluggish when accelerating. Dirty air filters can also increase fuel consumption and, in extreme cases, stall the engine.
      Transmission problems: Both manual and automatic transmissions can cause a car to stall. A failing torque converter in an automatic transmission can cause the car to stall unexpectedly.
      Catalytic converter issues: A clogged catalytic converter can cause the engine to shake and stall.
      Fuel pump issues: A failing or failed fuel pump can cause stalling or a no-start condition.

    Shanghai 295AD-(b), 2 cylinder diesel, circa 1999.
    Was working fine, then fuel filter casing broke off; I repaired the casing, put it back, bled everything, but motor won't start.
    Eventually I traced the problem to one of the outputs of the high pressure pump. This is a non-rail system, so there are two HPFP to each injector.
    One of the outlets squirts fuel like it's supposed to, the other one is silent, no fuel comes out.
    Looking like I have to take the HP fuel pump off the motor, and troubleshoot or replace it. Replacing it is a challenge cause its so old, can't find parts.
    Not experienced at disassembling high pressure fuel pumps. I am thinking maybe a piece of debris got sucked into HPFP from when fuel filter casing fell apart.

    Best video for this pump. However, Even tho my pump looked similarly rusty outside, I found out I have questionable ammount of vacuum on 2 pistons and barely any vacuum on the third piston. The inside trianhle piece has much bigger wearmarks for all 3 pistons, I can notice a ridge there. I guess I need a new pump.

    Hello, i bought a used high pressure pump, it worked great it was creating fuel pressure, i opened the cover and took the piston out, then i got the piston back inside, and now it won't get high pressure pump won't work, i got everything back inside as it should but now it doesnt work anymore

      Why did you remove a pump that was functioning well? 😕 It's a highly precise device. If such pumps are operational, it's best not to dismantle them. 😊 Have you inspected all the seals and O-rings you've used? 🤔 Did you look for leaks anywhere? 💧 Is the micro spring at the bottom of the valve correctly positioned? 🔄Did it rotate? Is there dust or dirt present anywhere? 🌱Blocked small holes can lead to decreased pressure. How did you ascertain there was sufficient pressure previously? 😕Did you verify that?

      ​@@bigvmedia, well so I have this pump that I bought and another one on the car, the pump that is on the car won't work, and this one that I bought was running perfectly, I decided to take the piston from the pump I bought and put it in the other one, still didn't work, Now I got the piston back in the pump and now it won't work, it makes a little sound, but no fuel coming out

      ​@@bigvmedialike everything is put back together the way it should, there might be something clogged because when the pump was working, fuel was coming out from the high pressure side even if I didn't spin the pump, now it doesn't anymore, so something is probably clogged

    Hello, i have a bosch high pressure fuel pump in my peugeot 206 2.0hdi, i believe it airlocked, any idea how to fix it before i take it to a mechanic?

      An airlock occurs in a mechanical high pressure fuel injection system when air is trapped between the pump and the fuel injectors. This can happen when air leaks into the fuel delivery line or enters from the tank. Causes for airlock, also include- Allowing the fuel tank to run dry, Changing a fuel filter, Leaky fuel lines etc.
      Air locks can be eliminated by turning the engine over for a time using the starter motor or bleeding the fuel system.
      The presence of a trapped air bubble hinders the smooth flow of fuel through the system, leading to symptoms such as challenging engine starts, diminished engine power post-startup, and, in more severe instances, an inability to initiate the engine. Do you have any symptoms explained?

      @@bigvmedia Yes, my engine wont start, it used to barely start and die but since ive cleaned the whole fuel line the fuel wont come out of the fuel pump, ita pumping all fuel to the return line

      قد يستمر تدفق فقاعات الهواء اذا كان نظام الحقن الديزل لايوجد فيه مضخة توصيل في الخزان معنى ذالك ان الضغط الموجود في انابيب التوصيل 1بار> اقل من واد بار يكفي لثقب صغير ان يفسد عملية الشفط

      @@bigvmedia hello again, my engine is still pushing all fuel to the return line. It has great pressure from the filter to the pump but nothing comes out of the high pressure fuel pump. Could it be a dead pump or just fully airlocked?
