    You also have to remember that in these days there was no MTV, no UA-cam, no internet, no video on-demand. You couldn't just see your favorite artists whenever and wherever you wanted. So to actually see them performing live in concert was more mind-blowing than you can even imagine today.

    One of the most important, not necessarily the greatest because unfortunately the band couldn't hear themselves. They pioneered stadium concerts. The primitive PA system (the baseball announcers PA) couldn't cope with the noise.

  • @dggydddy59
    @dggydddy59 3 роки тому +10

    At Beatles concerts in those days, there were no big megawatt sound systems like today. They played to 55,000 girls screaming at the top of their lungs for a half hour, with just their guitar amplifiers and a mikes plugged into a PA that probably came from a small church. Not only could the audience not hear anything, the Beatles couldn't hear themselves because of the nonstop screaming. It's a miracle they played in time and sang in tune. Nothing anywhere near this exists now. Not even close. You just watched a musical and cultural revolution that was unprecedented and will never happen again. The Beatles!

    It is notable as it was the very first time a Rock Band performed in a sporting stadium - it was a world record crowd for a Concert at the time.
    However, there was no such thing as a Rock Concert PA system at the time, their voices went through the regular baseball stadium PA system. On stage there were no monitors so they could not hear themselves very well - at times not at all.

    Guys, by the way, this is a remastered version aimed at toning down the audience noise and making it so you can hear the music. The original film was the straight audio, and the crowd noise was so deafening that all you could hear was this high-pitched whine that would go to your inner ear and make you put your fingers in. This thing was totally out of control, and the only way they could make it into a watchable film was to do a remaster. But the original really gave you the impression of what the event was really like.

    They were playing out on 3rd base. I'm Down is the best Song played at Shea's. John is playing organ with his elbow, sliding it across the keys, George is laughing that he can't sing the "I'm Down" lyrics or play because John went off the rails laughing, elbowing the organ and singing: "Yaboo"! They were anything but down. They were so high on the adrenaline rush alone. Ringo couldn't hold the back beat because Paul had a tendency to play much faster when live, especially here. Ask anybody and they'll say "Sheas Stadium" Enjoy your journey of discovery guys. It's worth the trip.

You cats have restored my faith in humanity, because earlier today I was chided by some people, whose ages are between yours and mine, for liking a Beatles performance and because I used it to draw some parallels to my (and their) favorite currently touring (tour postponed due to CV) band. Point of reference: When this was going on back then (1965), I was going on twelve-years-old! It is good to see young people enjoying this phenomenal band. Look for about a 17-minute video from that same year from a TV program called something like "Blackpool Night Out". The audience was polite and stopped screaming when the band was playing.

Girls used to faint at their concerts and once two girls tried to "mail" themselves in a box to their motel room. The Christians in America were so afraid of bad influence that they used to have "Beatle record burnings." Ok, you guys are pretty young and you has me scared for a bit. I didn't know if you all would get into The Beatles. But you did and I thank you for that. You picked a couple of great songs to listen to so that helped. You have to realize that back then, concerts were usually a couple of thousand people. Nobody had ever been able to fill a stadium until The Beatles came along. Almost 60,000 people was unheard of in those days. That is what made this an unforgettable event. People that attended this concert say they couldn't hear one note of what The Beatles played due to the noise. I have heard it said it was like several jumbo jets at full throttle. I wish I could have gone, but first it was in New York, which at the time was like getting to the moon. It was so far away. (I'm in Texas), and second I was only 7 years old at the time. The ticket prices were only 6 dollars so that was not too much. But I was born a little too late. I just turned 64 this month and I am still a huge Beatles fan. Great reaction!

      I used to know someone who took her son to this show. She said that it was so loud that her ears were ringing after she left the venue. Crazy days lol.

    It's not even close to one of the greatest live performances of all time. The reason its famous is because it was the 1st Rock Concert in a Large Stadium.

    Beatles were bigger than Michael Jackson. It's not even close. 20 number 1 songs in 6 years and then they split.
