I´ll have to try this, but I think there is more to it.
I haven´t even touched motion design and I have also gotten this error. As far as I´ve been told, it just happens when ANY shader in your level has compilation errors.
So, you might not even SEE it in the scene, sometimes it only compiles with errors when you render or its hidden or something, either way, I found the compilation error in one of my own shaders and after that it rendered fine.
I´m not sure if its actually a RED compilation error, maybe one of the yellow warnings is enough to trigger this, like, when you put a texture that is interpreted as "mask" into a slot that is set to "color" or something like that. It throws a yellow error in the material instance, but still works in the viewport, but might throw that error.
I haven´t noticed that behaviour in 5.4, so they must have changed something, which makes me hope there is a simple console variable fix to this, rather than having to try and fix all these warnings, which isn´t always possible.
I really wish the texture samplers were "agnostic" to the type of texture you plug in...
Yeah, such a massive piece of software is definitely gonna bug out sometimes 😭 before this, I never thought about checking my logs but sending that into the epic team always does help. Always submit crash reports with comments hahah.
As for your Shader, mind if I ask what it is and what fixed it? Just curious

At some point I´ll maybe release it, its my second go at it and its a lot more polished and neatly sorted now...
I just checked again, yellow errors do NOT cause the shader compilation, only red ones.
i had this a few days ago but it was strange. it was rendering fine my first few attempts then on my final attempt it just started doing this.
thankfully the speed of my computer wasnt affected and still rendered reasonably fast, but on the render after that attempt,,, it stopped and rendered like normal

Quick question if I may: in sequencer I have a camera also in the camera cut, but when I simulate , the viewport jumps out of the camera cuts camera view….any solution to that? 5.4.1 of course…thanks man!
Yeah man, i have had that happen. TBH, i don't like using the Ava_Sequence0. I would rather use my own level sequence because it's more stable. When the Motion Design tools say "Experimental" It really means "Experimental" :)
That is to say, the Epic team is working super hard and is incredibly supportive of our roles as artists. I think 5.5 is going to be a real game changer.

@@JonJagsNee what do you mean by " I would rather use my own level sequence " ? i disabled MotionDesign entirely from the plugins menu, and the sequencer is a normal asset. but the bug happens, in "simulate" and also in "play in viewport"....sorry for anoying you with it, but its very strange and its the only thing holding me back from going all-in with 5.4.....
@@amitshneor1no worries man. If i had to guess, enabling the plugin did something on the back end. If I were in your shoes, I would start up a fresh project and migrate all your content to that.

Hello! I have a problem again with Camera Animation in Sequencer. I'm trying to animate a camera that rotates left and right but the moves are robotic. I can manually change the handles to ease-in and ease-out but is there automatic way to set it all? Please add this to your list of future videos about camera move curves and stuff. I set the key-frames to automatic but sometimes it works and other times it acts robotic. It's random. Maybe I accidentally clicked or enabled something? Maybe it's a bug? Thanks! 👍
I don’t know how many bugs in 5.4 motion design have been fixed, especially the three most obvious ones of material designer and SVG animator. .
It doesn't work for me, it can't even find the M_Sgrb, only the function appears
Dang man :( Sorry to hear that. Sadly, Unreal be like that sometimes. I would open up your log file and see if you can find the problem material :) That's how the epic people i spoke to helped me solve it :)
I managed to find it by having "Show Plugin Content" also enabled, in addition to "Show Engine Content"

This slowed my rendering time so much. I could fix it by using "Render (Remote)".

this is a solution for your case only. just had this problem and my solution was different. in my case, a specific shader had a Speedtree function. ( I dont have anything from speedtree installed) but the asset came like that, so the shader was rendering just grey default. I deleted that node from the shader, saved, and problem gone. the right way to fix it is knowing how to read the output log and finding where the problem is.
I am using UE5.3 and have the same problem, but my English is poor. I would like to ask if you have a good way to read the output log and find the problem, because as there is too much content inside.
@@jiafengchen-c2z just find the red words. the problem will show in Red. read carefully and try to understand what the red message is referring to. becuase sometimes is easy to get lost trying to understand it
