When they talk of "gentrification" of Mexico City, what does that mean? Can someone explain? Is it sort of similar to what we think of gentrification in the US?
MONICA FLORES i think it’s pretty much the same : when the medium class is no longer able to pay for rent and common services because the prices get higher and higher so a new generation ( the new rich) of families with a bigger budget and earnings takes place in the big city where the medium class used to live and the medium class gets displaced, but also it refers to the new generations like the ones called millennials and their tastes like the kids who are hyped with limited edition kicks
It's similar only in "pockets" instead of the whole city.
