If you use coconut oil, don't spit your swish into the sink drain. Spit swish into the trash. Coconut oil can clog drains because it adapts to temperature. If the temperature is warm or hot, coconut oil will be liquid. However, when it's cold, the oil hardens and can affect plumbing.

Oil pulling does reverse cavities. It adds essential minerals the teeth need along with probiotics, when added to a healthy diet the cavities will go away. My daughter’s dentist was amazed. She tried to insist on fluoride, which is horribly toxic. I told her to give me 6 months and when we returned, her cavities were gone. No filling, no fluoride 🙌🏻

I can totally attest to oil pulling! After I started oil pulling, I completely cured myself of cavities and having to get a root canal. But what I did differently than you is add 2 drops of Oregano oil to fractionated coconut oil and swished for 20 minutes every day. Oregano oil is a natural antibiotic and antioxidant. Nothing short of miraculous! It does take some getting used to, but now it's just second nature. Thank you for sharing your experience!

I'm an old man and constantly something always in my mouth niggling me (one thing or another) and also due to age and coming from an era where teeth care wasn't much considered (certainly in my home no toothpaste at all unfortunately 1960s) but I watched your nice video and remembered my daughter's were all raving about this once and had left some coconut oil on top of my fridge, because they couldn't do it. So next day I did ten minutes and have done so every day since, about 3 weeks now and I can't believe how good my mouth feels, my breath is fresh and it seems to me my teeth are definitely cleaner and I went to the store and bought another jar to continue this routine for rest of my days. So thank you Joanna (and I can definitely say in my opinion this works)

Also on another note, the reason why people have yellow stains in their teeth is because of hardened tartar that hardened harder doesn't go away when you brush, a dentist will usually scrape it away. But with oil pulling it actually loosens that tartar on your teeth making your teeth whiter because that tartar has bacteria in it The longer it sits, the more decays your teeth and eats away at your enamel.

    • @Kombaiyashii
      @Kombaiyashii 9 місяців тому +21

I'd just like to add that if you've had some enamel eaten away by bacteria, underneath the top layer is naturally more yellowish. So if you get rid of that bacteria and your teeth start to remineralise, the outer layer of enamel comes back which is much whiter.

I've been oil pulling with organic coconut oil for years. Oil pulling is a common health practice in Ayurvedic medicine and it draws out toxins in your body, primarily to improve oral health but also to benefit your overall health since they're both connected.. It definitely makes your teeth whiter and since coconut oil is high in lauric acid (40-60%) mainly in the form of free fatty acids and monoglycerides, it has antibacterial activity, antiviral, antifungal, antiprotozoal, and can also benefit the immune system. So it does help to ward off tooth decay, gum disease as well as bad breath. If you don't have time to oil pull in the morning, you can do it anytime, in the evening if that fits your schedule better (do it on an empty stomach). After you're done swishing with the oil, spit it out in the garbage bin, not the sink or toilet because over time the oil will coat your pipes, attracting other things that travel through the pipes and can contribute to clogs. Then rinse with warm water to remove any lingering toxins.
Fluoride is a neurotoxin so it's not safe despite this common practice in the dental industry. I don't use fluoride toothpaste and I never get cavities. Depending on where you live, it's already in the drinking water.

I've done it for the last 8 years, and stopped going to the dentist. The last time I went was about 6 years ago (2 years into oil pulling) and there was literally nothing for them to do because I had no plaque or staining, so they just brushed my teeth and told me to keep doing whatever I'm doing...in and out in 10 minutes. I've never had a cavity in my life. I also haven't been sick once since I started, and I don't think that's a coincidence. I recommended it to my dad who suffered all his life from bad sinus infections, and he stopped getting them entirely. I've told basically all my friends and family to do it and the ones who actually tried it all stuck with it, my sister has been doing it for about 3 years now and also stopped going to the dentist. It's a great hangover cure too...just saying.

@@lolobrian4332 I always floss first, yes every single day, then oil pull with cold pressed organic coconut oil for at least 20 minutes. You can buy big tubs of it at Costco or other wholesale places for pretty cheap. I always spit it out outside, just don't spit it down the drain because it will eventually clog, and NEVER swallow it...which would defeat the whole purpose. Then I brush my teeth with only a tsp or so of baking soda and a few drops of peppermint oil. I use the bobs red mills brand of baking soda, although I doubt it really matters. Baking soda is all you need to brush with, I promise, it'll feel like you just got your teeth cleaned at the dentist everytime...and it's dirt cheap. The other benefit of baking soda is that it alkalizes your mouth, which further prevents bad bacteria from from growing. You can mess around with activated charcoal, or other natural toothpastes (they can get expensive though) but if you're still using the fluoride poison in a tube then definitely stop that immediately.
You'll notice excellent teeth and oral health, which then improves your gut health, and that directly correlates to overall health...it's a chain reaction of benefits. If you have teeth pain, a cavity, or something like that then you may notice improvement almost immediately, but try to stick with it for at least a month (every single day) for the real results. If you can make it that long, then I guarantee you'll never stop.

I didn't research much when i started, i had a cavity and i just thought it was a good idea since oils trap bacteria and so i started doing it. Right away i noticed some of the discomforts i'd usually have with my teeth disappeared and the cavity lost that characteristic smell/taste cavities produce. I've been doing it since then, my teeth feel "sturdier" if that makes any sense, it works for me and it's not that hard, i usually do it while getting ready to leave.

@@jessicaknight1808 from my research, it can only reverse early stages of cavity and prevent it. A deeper cavity that's already eaten away at the tooth won't go away or rebuild the tooth. But from the sounds of it, it probably prevents it from getting worse. It's very true that oil has a way with bacteria. And it's sugar eating bacteria that causes cavity, not sugar itself. Bacteria also causes oder, so it makes sense that the smell went away too.

I had my teeth cleaned and checked about 10 days ago. I heard about oil pulling 3 days ago. I picked up my coconut oil on the way to work night shift at the hospital. Tried pulling while doing paperwork. All night long I noticed how clean my mouth felt even after eating and drinking coffee and tea. I don't obsess over these sorts of things normally but my mouth and teeth felt so clearly better! I used about 1/2 teaspoon which seemed plenty. Maybe since I had recently undergone cleaning it was easy for me to notice the immediate benefit. I will test with my wife after a few days to see if my breath is better because I do have an issue with that.

Injection of lignocain to numb the gums where the plaque is growing. Plaque Left to grow it eventually will cause your teeth to fall out as it removes the gum tissue away from the roots and destroys the bone holding the teeth in place. If Tartar is a problem definitely do oil pulling. But Xylitol t.paste works too and chewing gum with Xylitol. Xylitol tablets put inside cheek and allowed to disolve gradually aswell. Also after brushing with clean brush, good quality soft is best as it wont tear inflamed gum tissue, using a clean finger massage gently all around the gums pushing upwards on lowers and down on uppers. This encourages better blood supply to gums healing inflamation and making it easier for gums to grow back over soft dentine below gumline.

I’ve began oil pulling for the past two months. I was actually really excited to do so with unrefined coconut oil as weirdly enough I love the smell and natural sweet taste so much so I would eat a spoon here and there before discovering oil pulling 😅. So far my teeth have been extremely white, plaque free, my sinuses are clear I can breathe I’ve also been able to wear a little perfume here and there. I used to only be able to handle fragrances if I took my allergy medicine that would open up my sinuses but oil pulling does that for me. Otherwise perfumes and heavy fragrance cause me major headaches. I’ve also learned oil pulling helps detoxify your body though your tongue and helps metabolism which is great since I’m trying to lose weight. I pull during my shower and after I’m done moisturizing my body I spit it out into a plastic water bottle that I throw out once full. After a week I did notice a weird sensation in my teeth after eating cold salad and hot soup together it didn’t hurt but it felt like my teeth were healing from sensitivity issues. Then the other day I felt sensitive in my molar that I’m pretty sure was on the way to being a cavity or is really sensitive due to my tmj and grinding but I figure that is healing deep down in my gum too from the pulling. Time will tell 🎉

My husband had significant teeth issues from gingivitis. His second last dentist apt he was told that his teeth were loose in his gums and he will need his teeth pulled.
I have been nagging him for a few years about doing a dental swishing regimen with also applying vlove extract. But with that last apt and suggesting pulling the 2 teeth, he told them he would think about it. I said please try rhe oil pulling with an occasional applying clove extract in his mouth for 6 months.
Cloves kill bacteria and help reduce teeth pain.
After 6 months he booked for January this year. His teethcleaning required less money than usual even with the $50 deductible. And this time the dental assistant saw nothing wrong. He decided not to tell them what he was doing, because professionals get upset when you mention holistic medicine.

I add a few drops of tea tree oil, clove oil and cinnamon oil for taste and additional therapeutic benefits. I still use a tongue scraper as well for good measure. The easiest way to prevent cavities is to eat healthy, and avoid sugar. I haven’t used fluoride toothpaste in almost 20 years and I have not had any cavities. The last time I had issues with my teeth was about 15-16 years ago, when I still ate a lot of sugary foods. I had a particular addiction to crystallised ginger, and it was really bad in my teeth. The only sugary foods I consume now are ones with natural sugar, like honey and fruit. If I eat sweets, like chocolate, it’s dark chocolate, so less sugar. No sugar, no fluoride-fluoride is very toxic, and just eat healthy. I’ve tried oil pulling before but didn’t stay committed. Thank you for honest feedback. Might try it again. 😊

I recently tried oil pulling for past 2 months. It did help to resolve my sensitive gum/teeth issues. Without changing my bedtime normal brushing with fluoride toothpaste & flossing, I tried various options of oil pulling(20mins each time). Tested oil pulling 3 times/daily for a short while but was forced to give it up because it resulted in very dry mouth. Tested oil pulling once a day followed by normal brushing with fluoride toothpaste. It didn’t really help to resolve sensitive gum issues. Tested oil pulling daily in the morning followed by lightly brushing without toothpaste. It did help to resolve sensitive gum issues. I think the extra oil film layer helps to protect my sensitive gum throughout the day until it is removed during my bedtimes brushing with fluoride toothpaste.

It’s the fluoride toothpaste thats hurting your gums, duh. You don’t need to brush your teeth after you’ve done the oil pulling. Coconut oil cleanses everything so just brush your teeth, floss, then put the oil in your mouth and swish it around for about 20 minutes, spit it out and then just go to sleep.

    • @bls5160
      @bls5160 Рік тому

Please don't use fluoride toothpaste as fluoride can weaken enamel and leech calcium from your bones. Also have your mercury fillings removed if you have any. It is definitely the fluoride causing the damage to your gums.

Stop falling for the fluoride nonsense. It’s toxic. I’ve been brushing with only coconut oil and pink salt for 10 years. I haven’t used a fluoride toothpaste in 35 years and I’ve only had one cavity in my whole life about 15 years ago. I stopped using regular commercial toothpaste when I was 17 and that was 35 years ago. After that whenever I did try using commercial toothpaste my gums hurt the next day.
You need to have a healthy Microbiome in your mouth. Not to mention the fluoride damages the pineal gland. The whole fluoride thing is such a big scam. I don’t wanna go into it but it’s ridiculous. It was never proven to do anything helpful.
So brush your teeth first with something simple like coconut oil and salt or bentonite clay, or a natural toothpaste like toms fluoride free toothpaste for sensitive teeth. After that do the oil pulling, then spit it out in the trash.

Flouride is a very unhealthy substance to begin with.
And I think many people here are doing the oil pulling and teeth brushing in the wrong order!
You need the protection of the film of oil to remain on your teeth, so it makes more sense to brush and floss first, then do oil pulling as the last part of the process.

It depends on your diet and situation. This all came about when researchers noticed how perfect the teeth were in many South Pacific Islanders. When they moved to Western countries they had terrible problems with cavities and generally bad teeth so they knew it was not genetic but diet. The answer was coconuts. They were eaten daily and they made up a large part of their diets and so oil pulling was born. They also did not have floss, toothbrushes or Dentists. If you are part of the Billion dollar teeth industry then I guess you would not want this to become widely known. Pulling the oil through your teeth at high velocity works better than flossing anyway. I still use super thin toothpicks as I love picking at my teeth even though I know it is not necessary. (Especially after dinner as oil pulling is my morning routine)

Brushing actually wears the enamel down--peeps were often taught to "scrub" their teeth, & some of us can't help but apply too much pressure while brushing so our gums get sore from the inadvertent scraping of bristles. Friend's very old dentist sd toothpaste makers invented the 'brush after every meal' & in his erxperience that increased unnecessary/premature loss of tooth enamel in most of his patients--which also produces yellowed teeth. The components in the wax plastic string & other materials in floss directly contact gums which are highly vascular & will easily absorb, go directly into the bloodstream many their substances & those used to produce them. My dentist sd warm salt water *1 flat tsp in 12oz h2o) was proven, years+years ago to cure gum disease, & sore throats--I can attest to that. He also sd massaging our gums does a lot to keep gums strong/health & therefore gums don't recede causing tooth loss as se age. I wonder if the oil going back & forth thu teeth provides a stimulation of blood supply similar to his recommendation...

@@BellyLaugher I decided to stop brushing and flossing after my last trip to the dentist. My teeth were clean but gums receding badly. The dentist used scare tactics about how they were going to snap out, and had no solutions other than making up a story that I grind my teeth and I needed to buy a mouthguard. When I thought about what I was doing- flossing and brushing like crazy, it became obvious that I was causing all the irritation and recession. Some things I'm using besides coconut oil is baking soda, pink salt, borax, and pine gum spirits (turpentine). My gums feel soothed and my mouth feels cleaner.

I also started to rub sea moss gel into my gums 2x a day after brushing and it feels really good, sea moss is full of minerals ( i make my own) sea moss is cheap in asian countries and thats where i am. In the US jta more expensive but worth it.
I have also started to take my quail eggshells i use from when i eat eggs everyday , boil them, dry them & grind them. I take a small amount daily of the powder in my drink only 1/4 tsp and i also make a tooth putty with a bunch of natural ingredients for teeth remin eralizing & put it on my teeth where i need help from years of tmj that wore my teeth down. So, fluoride doesn't do anything for teeth; it's an old scam that I don't know why it still holds. You can read a book called The Fluoride Deception for confirmation of this.

Yes indeed and fluoride is actually the opposite (not good) for health, etc.

Fluoride in toothpaste is a mining scam to get rid of the poisonous leftovers from mining.

"Fluoride doesn't do anything; I had it and my genetically jacked-up teeth still rotted out. Thanks Obama."
Yeah... Nah. Anecdotal and irrelevant reasoning. Sorry about your shitty teeth, though. Luckily I had the opposite experience, and at 36 have never had a cavity or any form of gum disease even once. Hooray fluoride.
