I so impressed with your children. You and your husband are raising children to eat healthy . They all seem to be so focused and dedicated to their music and the family. Good job. Thanks, Martha
I love seeing your Trader Joe’s grocery hauls and what meals you make each week for your large family. As a homeschooling mama of “only 7”, I am always in need of some meal inspiration and we love shopping at Trader Joe’s!
I love how you eat mostly healthy but then allow the kids to get treats. I have found that makes healthy eating sustainable for my kids. They don’t feel deprived, get to try “fun” snacks their friends do, and I think it helps to not focus so much on “bad” or “good” foods. They know some fuel your body and keep you healthy more than other foods bit they know nothing is really off limits just moderation. It’s just nice to watch a more real grocery haul :)
Aw thank you! Yes I try to be balanced. It can be a struggle though!😅 I feel like if the kids leave the house knowing that vegetables actually can taste pretty good I will feel like I’ve succeeded!❤️
Exactly. Some experts even suggest putting the snack on the plate with the meal and let the child decide what to eat. They find kids are more likely to eat healthy food if you don't focus on ''healthy" vs "unhealthy"
I think they do an excellent job at feeding their kids with food that fuels their bodies but also snacks that don't. When I was teaching year ones I had a boy who used to watch what other kids were eating and tell them if it has msg in it followed by a list of things that are going to happen to them if they keep eating that food. His Mum was obsessive about it and I had other kids parents complain because like five year olds do they tell their parents. The mother of the child had to come in for a meeting to discuss what her son was telling the other kids. She refused to stop him from sharing his views so the school decided to have him sit with his sister at lunch time. It's difficult as the teacher because people live differently. 😊
It was so cute! I feel like Enoch is 5 going on 50 sometimes! Some of the things he says or how he says them it’s like he’s a grown up which is so adorable! There was one video where Marc was plating dinner for everyone and Enoch was like “is that for me, oh my goodness you’re so sweet!” or something like that 😂😂😂😂😂 There’s such a high level of emotional maturity built into your kids which is amazing!
Hi Amber- thank you for sharing your lovely family with us. Trader Joe’s is so great for families, big or small. You have so many helping hands! And, Miss Naomi could rule the world with her management skills! xo
Naomi is multi-talented, and equally excited for all. I loved watching her enthusiasm while planting all the flowers and herbs. I believe it was Enoch (i apologize if that was the wrong name) was so sweet to think of his dad when choosing a snack and not himself, true spirit of giving. You guys are doing such a wonderful job raising all your babies ( yes, even the oldest because really they will always be our babies, right.). Love your vlogs, thank you for sharing with us. We were driving home from church, and you uploaded a new video. Imagine 13 people (minus my husband, he was driving) driving down the hwy watching another big family video. Haha! We all enjoyed your hard work! I know how much work these videos are. I hope you had a blessed Sunday! Love from Wisconsin!❤️
A few tips for your veggies and herbs. You need to add new fresh soil each spring…lay down newspaper before you add the new soil. On the basil and oregano…once you start to see flower buds, you must pinch back the flowers or your plants will go to seed and no longer bloom. Pinch off the leaves daily as you use them and it will keep growing!
I love watching your Trader Joe’s Hauls. It gives me ideas in what to buy when I go! I love seeing all the snacks the kids pick out! Everything looks soo good!

How nice that Naomi likes to garden, looking forward to seeing her blooming garden!! Amber, do you have a special recipe for your minestrone soup?! All the recipes you mentioned sound good!! Enjoy your week my dear.

I have type 1 diabetes so I suffer from hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and my friends mom when I was a kid made me wait till I paid for my drink before I opened it and had some. My dad was so angry at her when I told him. Even now looking back (in my 30’s) I am appalled. I was obviously going to pay for it and I quite literally could have died. (As a child I was more scared of her than of me collapsing) and honestly what would have been worse…an employee seeing me drink something I didn’t pay for yet OR having that employee need to call the ambulance if I started having a seizure. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Wow! That must have been scary as a kid! Yes, I’ve always been vigilant to pay for whatever we eat before we exit the store. I even tell the people in the checkout that the bag is open so it doesn’t spill on the conveyer belt. The store clerks are always really kind and just ring it up for us. Maybe it’s an NYC and CA thing because there is so much shoplifting in these cities, they’re just glad you’re actually paying for your stuff.
@@TheHappyCaravan I think every grocery store would be more than fine with someone paying for something after they consumed it. And they definitely are completely okay with me consuming sugar I didn’t yet pay for, so I don’t collapse in the store haha Yes it was very scary; even more so now because prior to that event I had never had a hypoglycemic episode where the ambulance needed to be called. Since then I’ve had many. I thank God I didn’t collapse. Some people really have zero awareness of illnesses. Ugh. You have a beautiful family btw! Love watching! 🤗
We get food at Costco too. We usually don’t spend so much. The plants were kind of expensive but hopefully we’ll make the money back by not having to buy herbs in the store.
I love Naomis personality. She has a confidence and openess about her. I feel like she will do great things in life.

And they definitely are completely okay with me consuming sugar I didn’t yet pay for, so I don’t collapse in the store haha
Yes it was very scary; even more so now because prior to that event I had never had a hypoglycemic episode where the ambulance needed to be called. Since then I’ve had many. I thank God I didn’t collapse.
Some people really have zero awareness of illnesses. Ugh.
You have a beautiful family btw! Love watching! 🤗
Do you have any other stores to shop at for food? Amazing how much you have to spend in a week. Not sure how you can afford it.
We get food at Costco too. We usually don’t spend so much. The plants were kind of expensive but hopefully we’ll make the money back by not having to buy herbs in the store.
@@TheHappyCaravan yeah I know you have a Costco just wondered about Walmart ect.
I was sad to find out that Ezekiel Bread has soy. My daughter is allergic. I’ve changed to Dave’s Killer bread.
Yes! I think it does have soy! I love Dave’s killer bread too. I saw that in California. I’m not sure if our stores here carry it. It sure is good!
Do you ever do an Aldi haul?
I wish we had a normal Aldi here! We only have a tiny one!
@@TheHappyCaravan . I wonder if there are other Aldi stores a little further away?
Maybe! I definitely am looking for other markets. We don’t have a Walmart here either unfortunately!
Do you make a weekly or monthly menu?
I usually have a broad idea of the month and then make a more detailed weekly menu. Also if there is a birthday or event we plan around that too.
@@TheHappyCaravan I would love to see your menu!! It helps give me ideas when eating healthier.
