Thanks for watching! Garden like a boss and I'll see you soon! - Навчання та стиль
Where do you guys think I should put that fig tree? 😬 And if you are looking for my full varieties list, check this link out! resprout.com/varieties-2023
Trade it for a second variety lol. That’s what I love about figs. Different varieties can be so completely different. I currently have 22 different varieties of figs.
Amazing garden you have!
@kidgloves2 OMG 22 varieties!! I have no idea where I'd put even ONE full-sized fig! Though I HAVE been eyeing up the VERY sunny driveway for some containers... Hmmmm... 🤔
@@ReSprout Yea once you get bit by the fig bug it’s over lol. You’ll be buying new property just to expand your fig collection.
I've heard that about figs! Wonder what it is?? Must be some yet undiscovered natural narcotic.🤣
UA-cam didn’t notify me. It’s been a while and I decided to check. Nice video. I suggest not to provide a hideout close to the windows. Just that. Everything is beautiful.
Wonderful! Awesome. Inspiring. Creative. Definitely worth my time to watch. Thanks for sharing. It might be nice to have the 2nd fig at the garage corner! And I also think you need a small patio with a chair, table and umbrella - girl, you need to sit and relax in shade, occasionally!
You're such an inspiration! what an amazing garden and how it's grown!
I heard you can crush and rub lemon balm on you to deter mosquitoes! And bonus it doesn’t smell bad like regular bug spray
I've tried lemon balm salves but never tried it directly on my skin. I'll give it a try because we DEFINITELY have a mosquito problem here! Thanks for tip! 🙏
Just discovered you. I'm amazed. I just moved to a smaller place after death of my hubby - 40 acres down to 3/4 acre. Large pines may partially shade a garden in back yard, so was considering putting garden in front yard. After seeing yours I'm thinking more seriously about doing that. I am planting some dward/semi dwarf fruit trees on south side of front yard, no room in back. Love your raised beds! I'm trying to get ideas for doing that here. As far as making tea - they actually ferment the leaves, quite an extensive process from documentaries I've watched - I'm a Darjeeling addict! That's a LOT of garlic!! I planted a garden on our ranch in Colorado - didn't have much of a deer problem - it was the free range cows that DESTROYED EVERYTHING. They even ate the garlic & onions. I had the MOST BEAUTIFUL beets, great soil for root crops - they devoured them whole. At least here in new place in Ohio, don't have to worry about cows.
You can definitely do a lot with 3/4 acres! But, yes, if the backyard is a no-go, the front yard is definitely an option. That was my situation. My backyard is horribly dark! It's full shade except for about 2 hours. And COWS?! That's crazy. I've heard of a lot of strange garden pests, but that one takes the cake! 🤣
I love how your garden has evolved. Such a lovely journey.
Thank you! Definitely a labor of love! I usually add something new every year. 😀
The Amazon guy 😆 Love your setup! The way you've utilized your space is super impressive!
For reals, I've had people stop at the end of my driveway and take pictures! Drives my dog bonkers! 🤣
beautiful garden you have sister, greetings
This video DOES inspire me. So impressive!
That's my goal!! ❤️❤️
This is my VACATION destination! Yep. LOVE what you do and watching every minute of what you've shared!
🤩 Wow! That is one of the nicest compliments anyone has ever paid my garden! A vacation destination! Well, you can come visit anytime. I will get the wheelbarrow and shovel out for you. 😈
Ha. Until then . . . I'm sending you virtual worm castings for each garden bed, a sprinkling of azomite, a layer of powdered kelp, well aged barnyard doings, and an Autumn';s worth of leaf mold . . .under a showering of molasses garden tea!
I love your garden and am jealous you don't seem to have deer, raccoons or groundhogs. I've had to scale back my home garden and have to cover everything in beds to ensure the critters don't get to it. I do have a 500sf community garden plot that is protected and I do most of my planting there. I used your garden calendar last year and it was an amazing tool. Using it again this year and, like you, I'm a garden nerd so everything is planned out, numbered, etc. each season. I'll continue to follow your progress.
Oh that's so good to hear about the spreadsheet! I hope to be doing an upgrade to it this year. Keep an eye out in your email. There's free upgrades. 😉 On the pests, I think the reason I don't have too many is because of, oddly, the road. Animals are pretty smart. The neighborhood behind me sometimes gets deer and there are raccoons about definitely, but the most pests I usually deal with are birds and squirrels.
@@ReSprout I have the space to setup my back yard as yours but I do not have a fence and the deers, rabbits, and birds would just eat everything. So I am trying to figure out the most frugal way of building a garden fence also the other challenge is I have a sloped yard.
I would love a currant growing guide!
You should try Green Stauk vertical growing systems
Spirea is the shrub with the small purple flowers.
🙏🙏🙏🙏 You are amazing! Thank you!
Love your garden ❤
I love your garden
Thank you!
Beautiful!!
Thank you! 😊
Greyhound!!
You found me! 😜
Excellent 🎉🎉🎉 I subscribed to your channel 😀🙏
Thank you so much 👍
@@ReSprout you're very welcome 😁
Flee Beetles.
Welcome back! You probably know this but asian pear blooms stink so I hope you were planning on putting it on the wall far from the door.
Oh my gosh! I DIDN'T know that! That is so good to know, thank you!
The unnamed bush at the corner of your house is Spiraea Japonica/Pink Spirea -according to Wiki it's known as Japanese meadowsweet.I have a few of those for polinators too, it comes in a few colors. I love how organized your garden is, I haven't managed to make mine look so symmetrical.
Thank you! I love this community, helping me label my plants like a nerd. 🤓
Always love your videos. Just don’t plant the fig where anyone walking by can pick! lol they are like gold! 😊
Enter stage left: the VERY TALL HEDGES. 🤣🤣
Check out Rain Country. She has an older video about processing tea leaves.
Great info! Thank you!
New to your channel❤. What state are you in or zone
Wow!!!! Where did you get camelia sinensis that’s for our zone?!?! I’m on LI too!
Check out my list of varieties in the description! I think camelia sinensis is technically only good down to zone 8, and Long Island is zone 7, but I haven’t had an issue with it. They are pretty protected between my front hedges and the brick wall and they get good solid sun all day, even in winter. Depending on your area you might be able to get away with it too!
@@ReSprout thank you! I’ll try it! I’m in western Suffolk.
@@ReSprout I just signed up for your newsletter! So excited to find someone gardening in my area!!!
I think that plant by the broken wine barrel & fig tree that's in the ground is a spirea
Oh thank goodness! What a fraud I felt like making this video and being like, "here's this lovely plant, I but don't know what it is"! 🤣🤣
You shouldn't feel like a fraud! All of us gardeners forget some of the plants we grow! You did a great job identifying 99.9% of your plants and explaining what you've done & why! Good information for all of us!
Hi April. I am looking for good compost in Long Island. Any recommendations?
This is the compost I use when I have to buy it-resprout.com/go/sos-compost. I prefer to make my own though!
@@ReSprout thank you so much. I’ve been trying to make my own. I haven’t gotten the hang of it yet, I guess. Especially in the winter months.
