Night Stalker name is for 160th SpecOps Aviation in Fort Campbell Ky.
    Totally appropriate name.

An update on my 9mm Aviator from Tisas. On the 2nd range session the front brass bead ejected and was lost. From the beginning it had movement in the slide, not unbearable but there. The barrel at the hood could be pressed down and pop back up. The thumb safety started ok then turned mushy. It shoots very well. I called Tisas in discussion mentioned several things but the bead sight bugged me. The rep said put it on the list. Its a process but works. I received an RMA and a return label. They stated the clock would start for 30 days for their process. I missed the part about not sending back anything, only the gun. Ha! 28 days later I received it back. The front sight was replaced. The barrel was replaced, Tight now. WOW! The slide to frame was within their spec. Although not mentioned, the Thumb Safety was replaced. Its ok, still not a Wilson, Nighthawk, or Les Baer. I look in the case, no magazines. Bummer. I called to inquire and couldn't reach them. I responded to the emails explaining I obviously missed seeing to not send back anything with the gun. I would like 2 mags to be sent. Crickets.... Until, Yesterday May 10th, over a month and a half. Two brand new MecGar Style 10 round magazines showed up in the mail.
They are paying attention at SDS Imports/Tisas. Great follow up in this learning curve of making it a Good Company to deal with. This customer service experience is Fantastic. It ranks up there with Wilson, Nighthawk as far as the top Customer Service Experiences I've had. I do not expect every company to behave this way. Nobody wants to be in business where service is a profit/loss center. From my view the repairs were handled as stated up front. They did a fantastic job of winning a customer for life.

I cant overstate just how damn good tisas 1911s are for the money, the triggers are alot better than springfield and kimber, all forged no cast parts, and they just run, I got a tisas devil ray bobtail cut commander for like $480 which is nuts and swapped the white dot sights for the green fiber set tisas offers, my gun is just as good if not better than the $800-$1000 1911s and looks just as good also, wish it had a bul barrel but for money its legit

It seems like it's sorta the Hi-Point of 1911's. It's nothing fancy, far from it. But if you absolutely need a 1911 and have a budget. It wouldn't be a bad choice.

@@frug5629 completely not true, it cost less because its imported from turkey and distributed out of knoxville tn from SDS IMPORTS, cutting costs down, same as Canik, thats why Caniks arw far cheaper, there is absolutely nothing better on a kimber or springfield over a Tisas 1911.... nothing, springfield is full of cast parts, plastic triggers on the newer 1911s, and kimber has poor QC

Tisas forged Slide, Frame, hammer forged barrel, no cast parts and the only MIM is the recoil spring plug. Springfield, Colt, Kimber, all loaded with MIM.

Nice review of the two 1911s. I like the look of the Tisas but I'm with you on the name they gave the gun. As you have shown the Springfield seems better built but its all what you can afford. I've read and seen that Tisas are very good guns for the money! Thanks ,Slim. PS Tell Senior I said hello.

I bought the NightStalker SF and the new Emissary full rail all black 1911. After about 500 rounds thru each, I sold the Emissary and kept the NightStalker. I just didn’t think the Emissary was worth the $1200 price tag and I thought the Tisas shot nicer. The NightStalker SF also comes with a threaded barrel and is optic ready which the Emissary should’ve been for the price.

Does the barrel link hold the slide stop in place?

Well said! 👍👍 I have been impressed with all the Tisas 1911s I have handled, but SA has always been the benchmark for me and quite the value at their price point, too. And, I had the same thoughts the 1st time & every time I hear the name of this Tisas, too. So glad they caught & locked him up! Those were some dark times back in those days...

The name has nothing to do with RR. It's an homage to the Night Stalkers at Fort Campbell Ky.

@@creigmacc I mean no disrespect to the 160th. 🇺🇲 When I hear the name, I think of RR. It's like if they would have named it the General Lee: Some would think about the war, others would think about the car.

Those particular Mec-Gar mags got a good review from Gun Tests magazine...One or more of the Wilson mag models bypass or somewhat bypass the controlled feed aspects of the 1911.
