Branson, Missouri is quickly becoming the entertainment capital of the world with more and more top attractions popping up each year. Over the past few years however, Branson has been sinking its teeth into the world of Mountain Coasters and presenting the best of the best. This year, Shepherd of the Hills joined the ranks of coasters with its new Copperhead Mountain Coaster. Quickly it became known as one of the best in the US with its smooth ride and unique scenery. Today we are riding the coaster and finding out first hand if it is the best in the US!!

I try to keep things very interesting however there’s a lot of downtime also where I’m just lounging. For example right now as I’m doing my comet returns I am simply laying in my bed in my van LOL

I don’t know if mountain coasters are for me, but I would like to try one.
The best thing about coasters as you can actually control the speed of them. You can go as fast as you want to buy pushing forward or you can pull back and then allows you to slow down.

I looked into one of these in Gatlinburg and our kids are tall enough to ride but whenever I mentioned it to them they look scared 🤣 I will be excited when they get to the stage where they’re a little more adventurous when it comes to things like this.

So much fun! I love a good roller coaster and with Mountain coasters it makes it even better because you can control your speed and they don’t seem to be as jittery as some of the coasters.

Do you have to get permission to film on rides? Just wondering because I am a going to Disneyland with my friends as a farewell to my California assignment and I would love to film the rides to show them to my little niece.
Also what kind of camera should I use?
Some parks allow filming others do not. This one did not mind with proper mount. Disney I believe allows with proper mount also my suggestion is using an action camera with a chest mount to make it easier.

Super fun! They originally stem from Switzerland. Here in the states they have been popping up anywhere that there is a Mountain lately LOL which gives me a lot of different options for riding. Super fun!!

I thought it was fitting for the place we were enjoying in the Ozarks!!! The scenery here is what really makes the ride.
Wow! I LOVE roller coasters! How fun is this?? Looks like I could ride this all day, lol! My very favorite coaster is the Big Dipper at the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, California. Absolutely! I really enjoy sharing adventures and this one was such a fun one. Sharing the POV allows people to see what it looks like when you’re going down the mountain and I don’t often get to do something like that so it’s super fun.

I would be interested in knowing where to find the full rankings of places like this. Are there a lot of them? You mentioned 3 in Branson alone are all of them ranked, if so how do the others fall?
That is a very good question! I’m sure there is a master list for all of the United States however I haven’t seen one. I know that there are dozens of these popping up however in all of the Mountain Estates so that would be a very fascinating facts and I will look into that.
I so enjoy going along with you on your fun adventures as well when you hang out with other fun vanners. I really enjoy your videos I am glad you mentioned controlling the speed in the coster because. I do get a bit nervous sometimes when riding but this sounds great. Keep the fun coming.
That is what I love about the coasters like this…. You are in control of your experience more so. It makes it very enjoyable!!
Is this video the actual speed of the ride or is it sped up? It looks like it moves daily quickly. Even when I was younger that might have been a bit fast for me.
That is the speed of the actual ride… I decided I was going to go pretty fast going down just to see what it could do… Because I’m more familiar with writing I didn’t feel uncomfortable doing so

Wow! No big drop I’m surprised
Typically with the mountain coasters you don’t have as many large drops you Morceau wind down through the mountain side. That way it can still safely be controlled by the rider itself. Unlike regular roller coasters these can be controlled by pushing forward or pulling backwards to speed up or slow down the process. I can only assume that if you had a large drop that that would renter that particular aspect useless

I really enjoy that the mountain coaster’s allow you to control the speed overall. And that makes it a fun experience for more people. With that said I understand if you no longer ride a lot of the rides and coasters… Just knowing that it’s there is a wonderful thing for bringing in new people. But the thing I like best about Shepherd of the Hills is there is so much to do for all ages. And yes I did check out the play I will be sharing a video of that very soon.
Is there a lot of force on your body like other kinds of rides? I am very curious about this kind of ride despite not being able to likely ever ride it.
The nice thing about a mountain coaster is that you can control your speed so you can also with that control the amount of force that’s being placed on your body. I like that as opposed to the larger cell rides because on those the GeForce can push you down into your seat a lot more. With this if you’re turning into a corner and you don’t feel comfortable you can slow the ride and that allows you to not have as much force. It’s a much more user-friendly experience.
The coaster looks it would be a lot of fun to do at night with all the things around the track.
I think it would be I bet it is a bit to dark to film though

If you have never tried a mountain coaster before... you have to!!! It is amazing!!
We have ridden almost all the ones in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area so we look forward to trying the ones in Branson. Three of them will be really fun.
You will love the differences in each of the coasters in branson... 2 start off with the coaster going down while one goes up first...

I am Noticing I missed quite a few of your uploads. This looks like it would be quite extreme.
This coaster wasn’t really so much extreme as it was fun. Then again if you don’t like coasters it would be so extreme LOL it’s OK about missing some of the uploads I put up for videos a week so it’s kind of hard to keep caught up but that’s why there’s always time for you to go back and enjoy

That one was really cool! I saw one in Gatlinburg Tennessee where a person was coming down and a mama bear and her babies were crossing over the track right in front of the car. Very close call there but nobody got hurt. Can you imagine?
So fun we went again!!! I would have gone a 3rd time, but we had dinner reservations to go get cleaned up for.

Since it is a mountain coaster the great thing is you can make it faster or slower depending on your comfort level... you control the speed from the cart unlike bigger coasters.. so yes I was going fast.. but you don't have to if you don't want to!

I am not sure what the maximum speed that it actually travels is it felt much more quick than the other two in town though

How plus size friendly is this? Is there a harness or seatbelt? I’m within the weight limit but curious about comfort…
I have written on it and I am pretty hippie so with my hips I was able to fit however I did see women who are larger than me also fitting on it comfortably and being able to be secured.

This coaster seems rather doable, no big hills or upside down. Seems rather mild? I like fast, just not crazy. Lol.
It can be as fast or as slow as you would like it to be based on the controls being in your hands... which I like!! It is swift and being on the track seems much faster. LOVE THIS ONE

LOL yes in fact they are… I actually found these on Amazon just googling TikTok leggings… I have them in pretty much every color known to man now because I love how they fit

I am not sure of the exact length.. I know it is decently long
It's definitely not number 1. The Runaway in Branson is by far. There was some great views on that one though. Goats on the Roof in Pigeon Forge is in awesome one. Have you done the Vigilante at Sheperd of the Hills. That's a lot of fun.
Just going based off of their advertising claims to be the number one. They have to have some basis for this. You would think to be able to claim that in a tourism town like that. I haven’t done the vigilante yet. I hope to do that sometime in the near future however, it looks so fun.
So of the 3 Branson coasters, which is your favorite?
Honestly I like all three however I would say that this one seems to have a bit more speed than the other two. Not to mention I like that it has more of the natural landscape.
I enjoy watching the coasters going down but it loses me when they go up and take so long. Is there a reason all UA-camrs post the up?

Yes... the video is in real time on the ride... although you can go a bit faster or slower depending on how you would like to ride using the brakes. It is really fun!!

Highly disruptive to nature, but no matter since it's fun for people.
Actually in a lot of the areas that they have mountain coasters they do re-plant trees that they have had to remove. This particular area of the Ozarks for example is one that there are a lot of conservation efforts.

Yes!!! The handles allow you manipulate the speed

single rider I believe is usually $10.95 but they also have combo tickets if you want to do other things which give deep discounts.
