Decent examples are now available for under $20k.. be sure to budget $2,800 every 30,000 miles to replace the special F1 clutch. Valve work and water pumps should also be considered every 5 years.. such a special car along with its successor the GranSport.
Very true. I’ve seen mint, very low mileage Cambios available recently sub $30k. Probably a good idea to budget much more than $2800 every 30k miles. If clutch replacement is your biggest expense, count yourself lucky lol. I was also under the impression that the clutch in these cars needs replacing closer to 20k miles if driven even fairly aggressively?? Maybe someone could shed some light on the clutch subject for me. I’m very much considering a Cambiocorsa for weekend duty as I believe they’ve reached the peak of their depreciation.
I have been looking to purchase this car- and earlier tonight I was researching it. you have some of my favorite car videos on UA-cam and this came up. love it!
The Car Wizard said this is a car for someone that is mechanically inclined. Would love to own one! The Italian cars are not the most reliable but sure are the sexiest
There not as bad as people say, I have a 2003 4200 Cambiocorsa that is amazing, After installing the Drive By wire/Enhancement and changed my PIS to 4.5 it allows me to change gear at 7000 RPM almost instantly, Wouldn't change it for the world.
People seems to forget this is knocking on the door of a modern classic now at the time lots of cars would have paddles but single clutch today it's double clutch or dsg I still think it's fairly quick for most driving on the road think it sounds better than a double clutch aswell
I have an Alfa Romeo GT (2004), and from my experience i can tell that Italian cars must be garaged, beacuse they have sensitive electronic on the point of humidity (sorry for my English).
Adam you do realise a slew of Ferraris, lambos, granturismos and Alfas used the same gearbox? It's not at all undrivable - it's not the quickest but it's still quick and very much fine to use. Especially with a formula dynamics DBW module
I'm really considering buying an 03. One thing that I'm curious about, is that I can't seem to find a 12v input to charge a phone in the interior. Does this car have one?
The 2005 handles extremely well. The problem was the first cars that came out in 2002. Then Maserati revised the suspension and steering and it could then run with Porsches no problem.

Probably better to get a used Mercedes SL55 AMG or CL55 AMG, they are around that price range or even less now days
Telling people you drive a Maserati is different than telling people you drive a merc

Takes a long time for it to shift after pulling the paddle. ..
Yeah, i was gonna write the exact say thing. Does anyone know why is that happening? It just doesn't seem normal to me.
just one of the worst transmissions ever fitted in a car. the clutch on these last about 10-20k and is super $$$$ to replace.
Angels Venom The transmission has only one single clutch, which results in slowly shifting.

Trial n' Error do they all come with settings to adjust the speed for gear changes? Is it true that the gearbox is unreliable?

Thanks for the heads up pal!
How is that car even drivable with that gearbox? Those shifts are SLOOOOOOOOW!
Adam Andersson single clutch
It sounds far nicer with single cluck and slower shifts tho more like manual would.
Not a slow. It depends what mode you choose while driving. Sport/normal and etc.

Was this video done In Minnesota?
How was the handling? I feel like you get the Ferrari engine, but not great great handling.

@@georgec5479 what was wrong with 02

Sounds like bits are falling off
Dude your oil temp is off the scale!...oh & put some petrol in it will ya? ;)
Oil temp? It's an oil pressure gauge.
Automatic Electric Clutch Manual Transmission.. That's why it is a shitty shift..
Automated manual transmission.
Sounds like its falling apart.
