    Boxing "In and Out" works against another boxer who tends to step back or stop moving after a combination to rethink. Matias is a relentless pressure fighter; he doesn't stop moving forward. While you try to "get out of the booth", he advances alongside you, ensuring there's no escape from close quarters. Even if you manage to create distance, he quickly closes it down. His resilience means you can throw your best shots, but he continues to advance. It's not that he's unbeatable or has the best style... I'm simply suggesting that defeating his pressure-forward style will require a special kind of boxer.

    Subriel Sub Zero Matias sneaks in short compact punches, opponents cant see or time Matias unorthodox punching style. Matias puts opponents into a spider web vortex, where he forces boxers to fight and fighters to box. Matias been at 140 his whole career and is never weight drained. Matias has endless stamina and spars 32-36 rounds. What makes Matias different and difficult is he is a boxers worst nightmare.
    - Endless stamina
    - cuts off the ring
    - kills opponents in the clinch
    - 87 punches per round.
    - uses a counter jab w power
    - short compact punches
    - unconventional timing
    - body work
    - opponents land 24% against Matias
    - Matias negates and counters the jab
    - defeated the most undefeated fighters at 140
    - currently best resume at 140
    - 5"9 with a 72 inch reach and massive frame, heavy hands
    - the soul of an undertaker, he does not want to KO you, he wants you to suffer.
    When you sign to fight Matias it's akin to walking up to the gates of hell and unlocking and opening them.

      Great and accurate comment. Also, Matias:
      - Has an underappreciated grappling and controls game that is uncanny because he doesn't have to drop his base or widen his stance for leverage due to his secret superpower;
      - Matias' secret superpower is phenomenal core strength. He can generate power without setting his feet. All of his punches are damaging, and he never has to load up. He is like a 140-pound Beterbiev with David Benavidez's work rate, except Beterbiev's power comes from using proper body mechanics to maximize his kinetic chain AND good form. Matias intuitively uses his kinetic chain and insane core strength, not needing good form.
      - And, Matias left hook is at least as lethal as Ryan Garcia's.
      Add his subtle angle changes to get good punching lanes and Aaron Pryor-like motor, and you have Focused Chaos, a legitimate Boogeyman.

      @@Just_a_Reflection salute well said it's a very interesting style. Late rounds seem to not favor Paro. Paro best chance IMO is to KO Matias early I don't think Paro has the stamina to handle Matias volume and workrate

      This is great and accurate commentary. I thought Paro would be competitive but didn't think he'd WIN the damn fight. What a disaster for Matias. In the 1st couple rounds, I thought it was business as usual. It wasn't until the 3rd or 4th - 6th that I thought that Paro not only earned Matias respect, but that his movement (and physicality) were presenting difficulties. Paro fought his heart out. I feel bad for Matias.

  • @Los_Goat
    @Los_Goat 22 дні тому +7

    I’ve really started to think Matias is purposefully letting his opponents feel comfortable the first couple rounds so they start stepping to him and he can pick them apart

      If that's the case, its worked up to now but can eventually backfire. He takes some really rough shots vs Ponce, Jukembayev, Ergashev, etc.

      Its his way of convincing the “boxers” to engage in an onslaught type of fight with him. Hes very strategic. More than people tend to perceive him as .

  • @JPsoofficial
    @JPsoofficial 21 день тому +2

    Its the fighters sense of pride that he goes after , he makes them feel disrespected , by constantly walking them down relentlessly, so they eventually give in to his style of fighting. And in that moment Matias officially overtakes the fights.

    Paro is slightly protected, but his stoppage win over Montana Love was good enough to convince me he'll win tomorrow. On a side note: I've seen many fights that ended with one fighter dying. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, the fighter who won is never the same. I was in the audience at Caesar's Palace when Gabe Ruelas KO'd a guy named Jimmy Garcia on the undercard of the Oscar De La Hoya vs. Rafael Ruelas fight in 1995 (?). Ruelas was never the same and was KO'd soon after by Azumah Nelson. Ray Mancini (v. Duk Koo kim) and Jesus Chavez (v. Leavander Johnson in 2005) are other examples of fighters losing their natural aggressiveness and viciousness once they're involved in a fatality.

    • @WhatsGoodWoog
      @WhatsGoodWoog  21 день тому +1

      Good points! Wow, yeah I remember watching both Gabriel Ruelas vs Jimmy Garcia and Jesus Chavez vs Leavander Johnson with my dad. Those were the 1st 2 times I can recall watching a fight where one guy later died. My dad, as the fight was going on, actually thought Johnson was turning that fight around and thought that he'd win. But yeah, it can have an impact on the surviving fighter. It ruined Ruelas. But then other times, we see guys like Sergey Kovalev proceed and have great careers. I think/hope Matias's tragic event was enough fights ago to where perhaps he's worked through that trauma. But wow, you're going with Liam Paro on this one!? I'm surprised.

    • @JPsoofficial
      @JPsoofficial 21 день тому +1

      It all depends on their own mental process . Subriel matias is not your average boxer fighter , Matias is a different type of animal. In this case i would argue that The infortunate “ death “ situation. Has actually made him more of a savage since he came to the realization that boxing is more that a “ sport” its literally a “ Kill or be Killed type of game

    • @bengolfs1
      @bengolfs1 21 день тому

      @@JPsoofficial You're right. Each fighter is different. But looking over Matias' record, it's pretty thin and he hasn't really been tested by an elite level fighter since the tragedy. The Paro I saw beat Montana Love should be able to pull this one off. Only concern is whether he will receive a fair decision in Puerto Rico. I'm guessing he will get ripped off if it is even remotely close.

      I do think that at some point the accumulated damage and punches Matias is taking will have an impact. We see it with all of these guys who rely on their durability and chin. I think Paro might be able to survive until the late rounds and maybe make this competitive. We also see fighters struggle when fighting in their hometowns.

  • @adeoluwadare2100

    You are spot on as always woog! Ponce and Ergashev were scared od Matias that was why they fought at a fast pace, l think is Nervous energy. Matias is durable and you need fight him at a slower pace and Jab to his mid section to disrupt his rhythm. Ergashev hit him in the solar plexus and that disrupted him... l don't olknow why he didn't continue. Anyway, the style to beat him is a fast, explosive , powerful counter puncher and that is Teofimo! or even Ryan Garcia and Russell. You need to be able to hurt Matias over and over to break is spirit. Those are the only 3 fighters l can think of right now at 140 lbs

      Thanks, I have to take another look at that Ergashev shot to the solar plexus. If only PBC or Showtime can make more of their fights available online (or hell, on Paramount+). But yeah, I'm curious to see if Paro can box with any success here.

    No Mas Tias is not going to let Paro, or anyone else, fight from distance. He cuts the ring off aggressively, ignoring shots that would deter anyone else. That's how his opponents get sucked into trading with him. When he shakes off their power shots to gain advantageous position, they feel like they have to gain his respect.

      @WhatsGoodWoog Paro fought a perfect fight. It's like he watched this video. Matias gave him two rounds, which he accepted. When Matias attempted to start the tough guy contest, though. Paro's corner reminded him of the original game plan. From there, he could stay mobile and pick his spots to counter, while enjoying the free rounds advantage that Matias gifted him. Similar to how Teo solved the Matrix, after Loma gave away the early rounds as always. Different approaches and styles, but two dominant champions were dethroned by similar strategies.

    Matias is the best at 140 fighting in and out of the clinch. Matias gets off 6-8 punches before you can pull back. Matias has world class stamina. He fights for 15-36 rounds in high altitudes too. Paro Trying to outbox Matias will win him a few rounds but ultimately he will lose his legs and get tired at that pace. This plays into Matias's favor because you're forced to exchange/fight back. Winning an exchange with Matias isn't realistic for Paro. Matias has fast heavy hands, fly swatter style, short compact punches that slip, and sneak in between the opponents guard. Matias's athleticism is also a factor, and if you look at the punch that knockdown Ponce, you'll see that the angle Matias had was insane.

    • @WhatsGoodWoog
      @WhatsGoodWoog  21 день тому +1

      Good points. I like the "fly swatter" reference. I think his nickname should be popcorn, because his fights start sounding like a bag of popcorn popping once he starts letting those combos go. And yeah, his athleticism might be underrated. But still, that Ponce style of 100 punches in the 1st round and going toe to toe just wasn't it.

Jukembayev, Ergashev and Ponce seem pretty good, but who knows? Id really be curious to see how a Teofimo would fare vs Matias. Teo tends to do better vs fighters who step to him, which Matias certainly would. But Matias, up to this point, has been unbreakable.

    but first you have to compare the fighters that these two fighters have fought? quality wise! I've seen some of paro opponents! not what you would call tops in their division! now on the other hand! matias opponent are of a better quality style in fighting and in power and records! plus most of matias opponents are very hard hitters! so style and out side fighting in most parts is not good because, their the one's getting chase by the other fighter! and in the eyes of the judges, the aggressor is given the better points in a fight for bringing it on to the fight! and you can't win a fight on the run! you're gonna have to mix it up in the middle or on the ropes! and matias is good in the middle and on the ropes, and even when he's being backed up!

    I've seen love fight, he's not that good! to me that looked like a promo fight to better paro fight record! love record 21-18- 9 KO'S-2-Loses 1 draw, so it's not a bad record! but in the knockout ratio, he should have more with KO'S with all those wins! go's to show he lack knockout power! pretty sure paro knew that! love has a little flare in his fighting style, but that doesn't make you a good fighter! another of your comment on making matias chase paro? is a bad idea for paro! I've paro get burnt out quick! with the guy he fought from I think korea! and when he get's in a clinch, to work his way out! pretty sure you saw the fight with ponce! ponce has a better record then paro! 31-30-20-1 L, there was some space between them, but to win gain! you have to mix it up! and if paro moves a lot! like you said! he's gonna get tired! and quick! ponce did that! went high and low shots! and look what happen!

      Yeah, you're right. Malik Hawkins is the last one to really try "out-boxing" Matias. Paro might not have great power, but the punches Matias has been taking has to be having some impact on him, to where its a matter of if (and not when) his chin will eventually crack. Look at Ricardo Mayorga (although it would be Felix Trinidad that eventually cracked the chin). But yeah, I do think there's a chance that Paro can hurt Matias.
