OK thanx I'm going to look for more were can I find different ones at websites or stores
very appreciative to switch up a little...
Nothin better than digging through a stack of records 💯
If Buddha came back he would drop jewels the Marlow Digs' way.
Good evening everybody.
bassline is so dope man
Its good to have this Type of video's because a Ableton VST Plugin Instrument user like me gets in contact with, mostly sampling maschines like Digitakt or a MPC, where to get Cuts,,,,,sometimes somewhere where you Not ecpext it like in the children vinyls (;
Also to get in contact with the time Who is involved to sampling to carefully listen---- cut----- taking time ---- Not just focused in "i have to make Music now!"------- just focused in the process itself
yeah this would be one hell of a series, i hope you continue
Thanks a lot! Now I'm driving to a record store during COVID to buy even MORE records lol. Seriously, though. You're the only dude I watch who can just talk to a camera for 12 minutes and never get boring. Love the channel as always, bro.
tanks Beau 🙏🏼 a lot of ✂️ so it doesn't get too boring
@@mpchead It could with other creators, but your personality makes it work, man. I've never found it boring.
The intro beat at the beginning of the show wow that bassline now I will watch the rest of the show
At 3:37 my brain exploded. That sounded so good together.
And right after playing it, says "that's a cut!" That's a pairing you press record on the 4 track for.
Hey man any chance you could do some videos on your layering process and ur thought process and strategies with how you approach it? That’s something I really can’t seem to pull off cleanly yet
@@Jacobeyesea I second this as well lol
@@Jacobeyesea i third this 1 lol
These are so sick man, a peek into the creative process is always a privilege and you do that flawlessly. I love the fact that you just do your thing, dig, and don’t try too hard to make anything. Please keep doing this type of vid.
MPC and vinyl . . . . . . . happiness
This video is great, so many videos from people getting samples from their pre-selected records and making it look like it should be easy, this shows a more realistic experience with several records in a row having nothing usable.
yes, let's get some more digging vids. great content, thanks!
You never know where the gem is hiding. Very often I find incredible chops on records for which I have no expectations, and vice versa: nothing special on records that seems to be full of great samples.
Yeah that happens so often, just yesterday I pulled up a jazz records that I thought was gonna be easy but turned out nothing.
dude, this turntable fits a diesel motor down there! nice video as always
Blessings brother. I’m 48 in Alabama, been making music most of my life to varying degrees of success, I own restaurants and food trucks but music and beats has always been my passion. I’ve always dug thru crates for others and played riffs and such to make beats, just purchased my first mpc and am learning the art for myself, it’s never too late right lol. Just wanted to say your videos are awesome and extremely helpful. Continued blessings and thanks for what u do!
Thanks bro 🙏🏼 appreciate it
this beat is unreal at 00:01
gonna be out soon on a next beat tape
digging in Portugal is very special, there is gold everywhere...
The bass in the video's main track is just so aesthetic
I selfishly request that you keep this upload schedule.
On time, every time for my lunch break! 💯 😂
Same here 🤣
Hey Marlow your sampling from portuguese vynils and that makes me proud because im portuguese
keep doing the great work you do man
Cheer from Portugal
Portugal caralho
@@mpchead Portugal baby!!!
Beat at the start and end is one of my favourites of yours, straight fire!
You're in your element my dude. These are my favorite types of videos you put out.
Love that baseline with the mystic sounds, top beat bro
The kids record stuff is full of gems!
Real dope little bass hit one shots @2:28 you could chop into dope loop. With little piano notes you could pitch and time stretch.
This is dope way to dig for sounds. Real digger. Takes time.
Really chill and interesting to watch you go through the records, especially the ones you flipped 💣💣
man those three first records are from here, brasil. the brazilian music is fantastic, have so proud of it, now i know why madlib love to sample our vinyls haha shout out, your videos are great! (sorry for my english im working on it)
I love digging videos like this.
And anything put over that dirty ass drum loop that you have bumping will sound good.
Agreed, a good dirty drum loop goes a long way
Nice!! This was a dope video on the beginning process of making a beat!! You have to listen to samples before you start!!👊🏾💯
I need to use these sample layering technic more. If you wanna get rid of drums in a sample you need to check out the R8 izotope plug in.
tried it and the audio remains scared from the removal. too much artefacts in the result. i know artefact can be a good thing but the type of artefacts the removal lets behind is damaging. even on flac files.
easily my favorite channel for MPC tips. So killer. Please make more videos just like this I love ur chops! This has helped me so much with my mpc X
I just got inherited a bunch of CDS from my father and a lot of it is Cuban and Old jazz. So that’s what I’ve been using. There’s only so much you can get from UA-cam 😭
I never tried sampling that way. I bet I can come up with something incredible. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Finding a little inspiration for the new needle drop video I am about to shoot.
Hahaha. A "cut" here or there. All those records were dope. Even the tracks with drums.
This is awesome to see your thought process and explanation of what you are looking for... GOAT
Yes this was great thanks
I like your choices in sound textures.... 👍 Thanks for sharing your work flow.... @6.55 this was sample used for 'I wish I didn't miss you' by Angie Stone.... Hope you are enjoying your new MPC live 2.... ☺
I also dig with UA-cam or Spotify. You don't need only vinyl for sampling.
Me too
Dope thing about children records is you can always find them for cheap. unless of course you're going after records that have already been sampled
This is the video I’ve been waiting for! Love your work.
Thanks for tuning in
fascinating to see your process!
One of my favorite music UA-cam channels
yea man this helped a lot..thx.ive been looking for just soul/jazz type records. ima start looking out side of that box!
I like what you find in old records. Especially when you play chops with the beat. Would like hear your layering examples. Thank you!
Nice tips. Thanks for sharing your process.
I don't know a thing about MPCs or hip-hop in general. I have some experience with Ableton and Serato sampler.
Anyway, I placed an order for MPC live ii, just because of you. So I guess Thank you. 🥲
Thanks bro, having an Mpc is a very inspiring way to make beats, enjoy
All about the journey
These are amazing-please people agree 😛 Haha i want this set up and workflow but I’d like to see how you’re up to it first before investing in my own home equip
More of this please💯
thanks for the video, it was dope.
Enjoyed it . Keep videos like this coming. Kool to see the process. Thanks
Thanks 🙏🏼
This stuff is gold honestly. Imma start flipping Children’s records. Just wish I could also dig in Portugal for that obscureness 🤣
6:53 🔥🔥🔥 I know you heard it 👂
Honestly.
Thank you Marlow for your content, started learning how to properly sample this year, and I've seen tremendous improvements in my beats, thank you man!
Great to hear!🔥🔥🔥
@@mpchead I really don't use MPC, I use DAW to sample, you think MPCs are better than DAWs?
@@ProdbysuavvI would say it just depends on how advanced you are!
Enjoyed this one homie! Definitely drop more sample digging videos
Was going to ask this.. and didn’t get round to it yet/ thought it was cheeky! Thanks again!!
Thanks a lot for this kind of videos, it'd be great if you could do more please, are so inspiring.
Best
Loved it
Good vibes as always bredren
Thanks for sharing
Thanks Jack ✌🏼
Really cool format bud, learning a lot about sampling from you. Nice one!
So I really did enjoy this type of video and I would love if you made more of them.
Thanks for letting me know, I see people are interested in this topic so I'll make a few more 👍🏼
"Here we go Jean-Maaarc, give us some music" ! ❤✌🏼
Feira da ladra state of mind. Keep digging bro 👊🏻 Great video 🙏🏻
Mesmo, deixa passar esta cena e lá vou eu pras feiras comprar vinis
Keep them coming, very helpful!
Damn that bass!! Nice Groove!!
Great samples
How dare you casually drop a masterpiece at 3:49 🤯
🙏🏼 thanks bro
Can you show us your filing system? How/where you save your chops, and how you use them in future projects?
I need to do that, I still have everything filed in a way I don't like
hoolyyy the 2nd record, the first song... i love it!
is it portuguese? or whats the language in which theyre singing?
shit on 4:00 is fire, awesome
I’ve just started listening to your Spotify albums, I really like them! Just wanted to ask how did you go about clearing all the samples you’ve used? Cheers!
Very interesting. Thanks!
Very cool! I do the same thing with the exception of listening on 33. I am going to start doing that. Thanks for the tip!
I also do it because 99% of the times I end up pitching down my samples so why not start at the source.
@@mpchead Yep, I most always pitch down. Never thought about listening that way. Great timesaver also. :-)
Please make more Videos like this👌🏼
Maaaaaaannnn you have great joints from Portugal!!!
I am a portuguese beatmaker, music producer and wannabe musician! :P
cheers from Portugal
Força aí Portugal
@@mpchead if you have some time check out my joints on my channel! Hope you like it!

Cheers from Portugal fam
Obrigado ✌🏼
@@mpchead PORTUGAL CARALHO 🇵🇹
Thank you for your videos!!!
These types of videos are dope. Also that bassline is fire.
In the end it’s about having a good ear for samples. And G you have a good ear for knowing what works much respect.
these videos are super informative, would definitely love to see more
Love this video style, keep it up!
3:50 need that beat in my life!
Just subscribed this is dope 🤙🏼
✌🏼
Hey Marlow, great video dude. How do you organize your chops when you chop up these records? I struggle with keeping things tidy inside the MPC. Do you just make a folder for each record? Or do you categorize each different type of cut?
please more videos like this
MPC HEAD!!
Lol Glen medieros such an 80’s time capsule, believe it or not I’ve actually tried to sample that song too
More please
