We Indians want it to But the problem is We have a good gdp If we stop it all of it cars , factories ,bikes ,trucks , trains Ee can also be carbon neutral But then people will lose jobs Then they will not earn money How will they buy things like food , home , land ,dress. If we have low gdp and somehow have the tribes to help us with food We have political enemies like xhina , who will use their military to take over us and do the same thing we are doing now Basically we have bad luck Either save ur people Or save the other people Both can't be done simultaneously It's like Either lose father or whole family
We can not stop climate change. The only constant in Earth's history and life itself is change. Reforestation is a great idea. Building new forests is a great idea. I would note that ice/mud cores dating back over 600,000 years shows carbon is not the biggest issue. Even Dinosaurs had more carbon yet lived in a green world. There is a natural cycle that takes place involving the sun and the grand solar cycle of around 25,000 years. Even global disasters that caused the climate to change rapidly and violently occur fairly often, long before people were ever an issue. Bottom line. We can maybe hold it off, but we cannot illuminate it. Desalinization of ocean water on a massive scale is likely the best way to keep water supplies stable. If we blocked out the sun, less plants would grow. More carbon would build up as a result of slower plant growth. Destroying the meat supply would only ruin the natural fertilizer supply furthering this crisis. The real solution is advancing technology that accepts the inevitability of climate change. Historically we are at a very low carbon point in the last several million years. What is unnatural is thinking this brief window we live in is something we will be able to hold onto forever. Lots of love for Bhutan and all its doing. It's doubtful it will ever be enough though. They are making better choice than our greedy and power-hungry leaders ever will. Freedom to farm and raise your animals is essential.
I do respect and care your wise concerns and foreseeing wisdom. This is the real issue. tl;dr: the "Third Pole" refers to the Hindu Kush Himalayas because it's the third largest repository of ice, thanks to all the glaciers there
I wish we had politicians like him in the US
Get this man together with David Attenborough asap
Did u hear what he said ?
We must come together, only together we can. 💯
What about these climatologists with about 40 years of experience saying our climate, droughts, floods, hurricanes etc. was way worse in 1950, and even worse in 1930, but the current stats go only back to 1960.
I feel like we should set up a Company that should be used to develop and protect environments: (Can be named) EDP: Environmental Development and Protection. Could be used to help protect countries in environmental problems and Terraform planets. Mixing the 2 would be great because the Protection side can share info with Development to start up terraforming which they test plants and animals that live extreme conditions and make an environment. We need to research Water Bears more.
Thank you.
Being an Indian I feel ashamed that my Govt is not so thoughtful like Bhutan's. If every President or Prime minister of all the countries of the world come together and think plus act like the Bhutan, then will change be brought together.
Being a big nation we have to cator to greater need and thus we cannot be like them. We're a country of just 60 years of freedom and still are in developing phase. And we do our best. India is moving towards the renewable energy sources very fast. From biggest solar energy plant to 2nd largest DAM in the world. Plus we have the greatest reforestation percentage.
The countries from EU and America should be the one to do more of these things cause they're fully developed.
he is true 👏
respect !!
Melting of the third cap also effects the albido of the planet and absorbs more heat and is a planetary issue.

Huge respect from Vietnam
I always like the smile in his face it makes me happy too 😊
Still nothing happens. My own country (Germany) keeps failing to get anywhere concerning climate change.
Even though we are fully capable dealing with the problem.
It is just one big mess and I fear it is going to end very bad for everyone.
They want more moneeeeey! Narrow thinking will bring us down!
And they keep eating all those sausages
I salute Mr Prime minister's farsightedness.when all the developed countries focus on the financial issues and busy to establish their supremacy above others, then, only PM of undeveloped country talks about the upcoming water crisis and several natural calamities which could be the result of glacier's melting. He call the big giants of Asia especially China and India, to come ahead for the rescuing ours natural resources. This is the need of this time to think about the unimaginable destruction which lies ahead, if, we ignore the present scenario.
Excellent.
Everyone cant do everythings, but everyone can do somethings. We are connected with nature !! Save our planet..Peace with Love🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾
11:40 "Because thinking globally acting locally does not work"....Means we all should look for long term effects of our behaviour and with a vision as the Bhutan to save mother earth as continued to gnaw(tore) by humans.

India needs to stand up to protect Himalayas
Great speech!
What an incredible speaker
All countries must work together now to prevent the planet from getting warmer. We all have to work together, all governments, all citizens, we all have to protect our climate, our environment, and our planet. We have to do everything in our power to prevent disasters caused by global warming from happening. We must save and protect our planet which is also our home. There is no planet B.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 we must come together ..
We need no speach we need actions
But i Respect and love this man becuase he is the only man i saw doing their duties he work socially than politically
And he was the prime minister of Bhutan, If he lasted longer, that would've been great!
eye opening, improvement of micro climate could contribute a micro part for its restorement by reducing refraction, and reflection of light.
We Indians want it to
But the problem is
We have a good gdp
If we stop it all of it cars , factories ,bikes ,trucks , trains
Ee can also be carbon neutral
But then people will lose jobs
Then they will not earn money
How will they buy things like food , home , land ,dress.
If we have low gdp and somehow have the tribes to help us with food
We have political enemies like xhina , who will use their military to take over us and do the same thing we are doing now
Basically we have bad luck
Either save ur people
Or save the other people
Both can't be done simultaneously
It's like
Either lose father or whole family
God in heaven heard him and hence the current pandemic will help restore the glacier.
India, Pakistan and China to work together to save the Himalayas... well my bets are on the glaciers becoming completely non existent. and that's sad
"I agree with you and will fight by your side!" Said the person who would not remember a single word from this video 1 week later.
Facts 💯
I do respect and care your wise concerns and foreseeing wisdom.
This is the real issue.
People are busy with fighting each other and bullying and exploiting less privileged fellows humans or animals alike and the environment.
They are challenging the Nature.
Nature get back at them not only them but others who do not harm.
STOP BURNING FOSSIL FUELS/ COAL.... Pressure governments EVERYONE. We need to come together. For our children, for nature, animals and insects. We are all connected.
Stop driving your car
Wish the Presidents of the countries who are part of the Amazon would do the same thing.
Politics and money manipulations get many country leaders in line or they will be assassinated and they know it. History. The carrot or the stick?
We will act on the verge of lost of humanity, because of ego and development
Yes him again!
Well said dasho🙏
interesting TED should be live sometimes would be awesome.
If there are people who are worthy of talking about climate change, its the people in Bhutan. Cuz their country havent is the only carbon negative country in the world.
my country Nepal and his Bhutan can't do nothing but complain and sit because of all these nuclear power and industrial countries sorrounding us. such a sad reality
His voice will stay unheard as the Oil companies and Western powers won't let this happen
I truly hope something could and WILL be done regarding this... but it starts from us...we are all buying too many things! That’s why that many things are produced (and the production sites are releasing the most CO2)
It's time to wake up...
I wish this man lead the earth
