The use of sound in this episode is incredible. The last part where a crying law is finally made audible to us, we know that thats the moment corazons life left his body. Definitely one of the best backstories in the whole story.
Indeed, one of the rare cases in One Piece when you KNOW someone died and you don't even need to see the body. Rosinante was absolutely going to give Law as much time as possible, both to escape and to grieve. The moment Law heard himself again he already knew that his friend and mentor was dead. Definitely one of Oda's best crafted backstories, and one of the world's kindest men.
Completely opposite opinion. The calm-calm fruit was written in for this plot convenience only, and no other thematic purpose. Oda really dropped the ball here.
@@Allen-qs2xrI would disagree, can you imagine at what age he may have received his power? If it was shortly after getting in the navy with Sengoku and still being a child, you KNOW he is going to be using it so he can cry without others knowing. He probably had to learn absolute control of his power so he can only stop his voice from making a sound and not his actions or the things he touches to be able to fool Doflamingo for all those years. Yes it was likely for this situation only but wouldn’t say Oda “dropped the ball”, he had to consider a wide variety of powers to make this story work
@@Allen-qs2xrI vehemently disagree. No balls were dropped here just like yours haven't yet.
@@brianyaniro4797BURN! 😂
We finally got to it!!! Now, we wait for Señor Pink
Then oden and then kuma
Jack's 100% gonna cry and then get on his knees and beg for forgiveness for ever dissing Pink.

Nice for spoiling stuff you jerks…

Kuma.... Just.... He's already nearby for ongoing watchers.... I've already read it, but I'm still not mentally ready. I'm preparing to cry for several hours in advance.
you know Corazon is so loved when he is in top 20 in 2 years in a row in popularity poll
I didn’t expect that scene to rank that high but man I respect it
left a big impact on many people. truly goated.
Yeah! Also at the end of Wano, Law will make a huge tribute to Corazon. I am curious to see if he will notice
top 20 might not seem that good, but One Piece has over 1000 characters 😂

Oda be like:
-Create new character
-have him appear only in a flashback for 6 episodes
-make everyone love him
-kill him off
-refuse to elaborate
-pause next week
The “pause next week” cracked me 😂
Pause next week is so true
I mean, all of this is true, but the break next week are always there to add some salt on the injury
I think this is the first time i saw someone find out this was Drake immediately, nice
We give Jack alot of flack, but he really does have his moments
There were some other reactors who also did
Yeah, the only other one who got it was Ruffsenpai back then😂
how did he know Drake was with the navy though? that is only revealed in Wano.
@@cs_kevin drakes thing was that he was an ex navy, to be an ex navy he had to be a part of the navy once, hence jacks assuming that this is how he originally got into the navy
I think the best comment I've seen about this scene is that Corazon symbolically died in Law's place for the White Lead Disease. The snow that partially covers Corazon when he died is a stand in for the white splotches Law has on his skin due to the disease.
Stop Making Me Cry Even More !
He’s also a Celestial Dragon who died like a D, with a smile on his face.
Any time you see “backstory” and “one piece” in the title, you know Jack is boutta be cryin
I mean that's pretty much anybody, isn't it? It's a backstory. Oda likes to destroy us with those.
@@RutabegaNG It's as close to Natural Law as you can get at this point...
Yup i cant wait for Sr. Pink backstory 😭😭
Fun Fact: in the chapter of Corazon say"I Love You" to law was the secret message from Oda to his friend Kishimoto for finish Naruto
For anyone who's curious look up chapter 766. The cover has Luffy and Naruto eating together, each having the other's favorite food.
thats so cool I didn't know that. Thanks for the cool info
@@YoyMcFroyI....I remember the cover, and realizing this after DBZ's creator passing away earlier this year, that hits a lot more than normal😭...
I love that Oda casually threw in the mini X Drake origin within the Law backstory

The anime sound guys probably loved Corazon's power. Probably got to go home early the weeks they were making those episodes.
Corazon out here even saving Animators 😂
He has to stop asking for Señor Pink’s backstory, he’s absolutely not ready
The monkey’s paw fingers curl whenever he asks for backstories
“What good is that power?”
Law…I think you find out.
It was soon after, on one of those three islands in the North Blue, that Law stumbled upon Shachi and Penguin bullying Bepo. He beat them up, and in recognition of his strength they started following him, and that's how Heart Pirates got started.
Oda mentioned thinking about adding that part to the flashback, but decided against it, since it would ruin the flow of the story, so he revealed it later on in a Q&A section of the manga.
Law's backstory is the second saddest backstory this actually made me cry
Same it’s in my top 3 backstories along with Brook and señor pink

It ain’t one piece without trauma 😊
Don't worry Jack I'm still not over it. Rest In Peace Corazon ♥ 🙏🏽 One of the most beloved characters.
Me neither! 😭😭😭💔
Oh yeah, no, definitely not over it
The deeply emotional moments are what really help make this series so special.
21:00
“It’s not the death of a character that makes me cry, it’s the impact of the character to both the story and the readers/viewer that makes me cry”
I’ve seen several people react to One Piece and at each time that heartbreaking moments occurred, I cry right alongside you guys, no matter how many times I see it and knowing what will happen, I can’t stop the emotions.
Three things I've been waiting for in Dressrosa, the Rosinante backstory, Senor Pink reveal, and to see if Jack understands Baby 5's name. He's surprised me before with his insights while somehow managing to astound me with what he forgets. Baby 5 slip past me for a long time, so I wonder if he'll notice.
Well, your comment made me aware of that last one now. Wow.
Wait Baby 5's name? what does it mean?
Her mother dint bother naming her. She was so disposable to her. So just calls herself baby5
@@TheHero0538 From the context of the first comment - that she’s “baby number five”, the fifth child. Given her backstory, that’s significant wouldn’t you agree?
@@TheHero0538 Others have already said as much, but Baby 5 was unwanted and unloved by her mother, who considered her a burden. Her mother didn't bother to give her a real name, she was just the fifth baby.... Baby 5
Fun fact, the corazon I love you scene ranked 2nd place out of all one piece scenes in the worldwide poll for the 2024 one piece day.
Yes, it's cold outside. That's why Jack has tissues near his desk.
Law's backstory is definitely one of the saddest backstories in one piece and i can only imagine how Jack is going to react to two other backstories.
off to check out reactions to the "Wish Her a Happy 10th Birthday" scene.... Emotions and thoughts from this flashback consume me even at the slightest pop-up in my memory, so I urgently need to process them by crying :)
I always love peoples reaction to law meeting vergo. It goes from "i see why law is hesitant to approach navy men. To: OH FUCK ITS VERGO PLS GOD NO" to this day i say its the biggest middle finger of misfortune that oda has given any character
True and for that not only law Rosi suffer very badly. But a whole kingdom for decades and from that kingdom become doffy evil base too and from which unlimited number of people suffer.
and its no wonder law is always so suspicious of navy men like fujitora and smoker like he literally has no other choice but to be traumatized
It’s nice to go back and see when Law diced up Vergo
Vergo one of the most underrated antagonist in the series especially with this context makes punk hazard hit harder
If this is his reaction to Dressrosa and Law's backstory then he is NOT ready for ANYTHING IN WHOLE CAKE ISLAND! I'm afraid bro is ACTUALLY going to cry every other episode 😭
Nearly 8 years have passed and this backstory still hurts💔
Perfect example of "be careful of what you wished for", when you asked to know Law's backstory 😌
This reminds me of how Jay D. Legend asked Oda for a Kuma flashback, but later couldn't stand even half of it. It’s better to never ask Oda for this :)))
Cora’s “I love you” hits even harder when you understand the significance of the words in Japanese he uses 😭
can you explain please? Would love to know.
I think they mean to say that the word "Aishiteru" carries a really deep and heavy meaning. People don't use it randomly because of it. So, Corazón using it instead of "suki" conveys how much he feels for Law.
@@PreciousLullaby exactly this!!!
X marks the spot
I'm happy u caught that the kid was X Drake
Most reactors miss that
Damn such a tragic backstory…. Surely there won’t be anymore in the future
manga readers be like: you still dont know what pain means yet
Nope, no more. This is the last really horrible tragic backstory that's going to leave a person devastated and unable to function for an extended period of time.
There certainly aren't any others just in this arc… 🥺
Fascinating enough, the original plan for Law was for him to be a villain, and after the backstory it's very easy to see why. After all, even on the original rushed design the Heart Pirates jolly roger is very reminiscent of the Doffy family jolly roger, so the connection was always planned.
I’m surprised you remember that X Drake used to be a member of the Navy before becoming a member of the Worst Generation. Heck, even I forgot about that.
I've been waiting for this ever since you started reacting to One Piece, and we are finally here, just seeing the thumbnail says it all
To give his entire life for saving just one sick kid.
Corazon was way too good and kind hearted for this world. Respects to the man. o7
About Corason name, as you well said his real name is Rosinante. Corason is the name of one of the 4 Doflamingo's right hands. The 4 names are Corazon, Pica, Trebol and Diamante which in spanish means Heart, Spade, Clover and Diamond, the name of the types of french cards. And Doffy is Joker😝
Wano spoilers:
And kaido has King, Queen and Jack
@@pewpewpiedipie2673wait how tf did I never notice that King, Queen and Jack are literally the faced cards in a deck 😂 I always thought "yeah King and Queen sounds cool, and Jack is just a name"
I guess you could say they all "played their own cards"
R.I.P the real one Corazon
One of the best back stories, i couldn't believe the way it ends too, so heavy
Jack is not ready for the manliness of Señor Pink. RIP
Now that he mentioned Drake, fun fact I learned not so long ago:
We all keep reading or saying like "the X Drake", but it's actually pronounced "Diez Drake".
Yes, it's because Diez means 10 and X is the roman letter for the number 10.
But, in the manga there wasn't indication of how it was pronounced when he's first introduced, but they added it in the anime.
“I don’t like the backstories anymore.😢”
Bro not ready for sanji’s…….
Jack really not picking up the times that Corazon is simply lying to Law with good intentions....
I swear Corazon is half the fandoms favorite non-straw hat HANDS DOWN, and for a good reason
16:18 you figured that out WAY faster than most people, dang
I can't imagine how he will react after seeing the loyalty of Minks towards Kozuki clan.
I recently learned some incredible information, the "Trafalgar" flag is the smiling face of "Corazón"
Basically same reason as what Mingo "asked" him, why's he all heart themed when he refused to be the 3rd Corazon.
huh. you actually realized that was Drake. Doesn't seem to happen too often with reactors
This is where I was in one piece when I started watching jacks reactions. I really wish I could go back and watch it all for the first time again being caught up is a blessing and a curse lmao
The power of that goofy ass "i love you" will always bring me to tears ✌️
Corazon's smiling face as he closed the chest is also the symbol of the heart pirates.
"COME EAT CRACKER WITH ME KUZAN" garp said.....OMG goda is god no cap.
This is episode 700 something, i can t even.
I knew this was gonna make you cry lol
I’m surprised it took you that long to put together that Corazon was an undercover Navy officer.
and now it makes so much more sense why Law's pirate group are the "Heart Pirates" because of how much Corazon meant to Law
He really took Cora’s death to… ‘heart’
Before watching: Welcome to the club. Hope you will stay, it is worth it.
How fitting a man name Corazon saved Trafalgar Law's heart...How beautiful !
"Armament looks so clean" Man, he is going to lose his mind in Wano haha
You was not lying about that box fan though 😂
Corazon worked with the Navy to enable his own interests (stopping Doffy from getting Dressrosa) in the same way Law "worked" with them as a Warlord to do his own thing. Despite Law hating the Marines and the WG for what they did to his town.
me: reading the titel
also me: "of course it did Jack... of course it did.."
Had dude BEGGING to go back the dressrossa gahdamn
Rosinante still has to be my favourite character in one piece so far, I can't stop myself from getting a tear no matter how many times I watch this
Law almost turned into what Doflamingo was. A kid who got dealt a bad hand in life and then just wanted to destroy anything and everything he could. Corazon saw that and made it his life's mission to show Law love in order to not let that happen. God bless him
EVERYTIME im seeing Law and Cora backstory, it always make me cry a river
11:43 yessss the same exact moment that stressed the life out of me, slowly realizimg this is how Law met Vergo and its obliterated the chance to pass that secret message
Rosinante's smile (I refeuse to call him Corazon) will forever be remembered by Law through his jolly roger tattooed on his chest. RIP my goat
Fun fact, Oda revealed in one of his SBS that after his defection, Law traveled to Swallow Island where he then encountered Bepo. He was being bullied by Shachi and Penguin. After Law beat up Shachi and Penguin when they turned on him next, they and Bepo became interested in Law. Then the rest is history.
He's Rosinante but it's also acceptable to call him Cora-san.
@@skye387 yes Cora-san is good too. But never Corazon.
Bro you need a hug
1st like love rewatching one piece through jack im caught up and it so refreshing while waiting for the new episode week to week
Bro you successfully made me cry again 😭
Someone did a drawing of Law in the foreground, Doflamingo in the background with his hand outstretched. He has strings attached to Law - but Corason has one arm around Law and is cutting the strings with his other hand.
Iirc, this drawing, if we're remembering the same thing, even got turned into an action figure or something.
And this is one of the many more backstories Jack will see in the future and again, cry about it, because how brilliant ODA has written it!
i always cry during this backstory... especially at the end.
Cora ist my favorite charakter in the whole One Piece univers and everytime I see this episodes.. I´m crying so hard..
Corazon meaning the heart in spanish and Law being the heart pirates kidoff hinted at it long before haha
Now you know why Law's crew is called "the heart pirates"
A salute to Corazon, one of the all time greats.
This backstory was the closest I ever ever got to crying at one piece
If you never cried even once watching this show I'm concerned about your mental well being 💀
Damn bro you’re very tough to crack then. I hope you’re a anime watcher 😂
Man, I didn't need this when I'm trying to get into Shadow of the Erdtree.
Killing me.
re 4:35 Tsuru wouldn't selling the marines out. 😂 She was super-focused on catching Doflamingo for a lot of years but he apparently kept giving her the slip (so maybe Doffy was getting leaks from Tsuru's crew that was selling _her_ out.) Great reaction vid though! Law's backstory with Rosinante is one of the saddest backstories in OP overall. 😭
(Corazon is only a title, but Law liked calling him Cora-san because of how they were introduced. At least that habit of his ticks off Doflamingo, who thinks the term should belong to him.)
fun fact: the hearts pirates jolly roger is just corazon smiling lol
And so, one of my favorite chararcters leaves the stage as quickly as he came into it.
And let us remember, the kind corazon is a celectial dragon. Proof that even the most evil of humanity - can have some good in it.
What I want to know is whether when Rosinante met Sengoku is if it was before Doflamingo tried to get back to Mariejois with their fathers head or afterwards, and if it was that Doflamingo had abandoned him or if Rosinante had run away.
So damn unlucky, out of a million mariines he bump exactly into Vergo :( And BIG FAT WW Corazon!!!
Crazy thing is ... Corazon is Born a Celestial Dragon ... and we loved him
I love how the Calm Calm fruit seems so lame at first only for Corazon to show how useful it would be for Stealth.
kuma and corazon both are the most lovable characters for me
best part about an anime that doesn't use death a lot like one piece is that if it's happen it's usually really fucking sad, sometimes it can get infuriating but when they do it hit you like a truck
I’m sure the cold is the reason he has tissues at his desk 😂
I’ve been waiting for this backstory 😢😢
omg i havent seen jack weep like this in a long while its okay brother i am right there with you so you are not alone next we have baby 5
Dang… seeing my goats Law and Jack like that really fkd me up 😭
In Japan it is Very Important to their Culture that the Older Brother always Always Always protect the Younger Sibling ......😢
i thou it mandatory for us

It's kinda sad how much we have all been waiting to see this backstory wreck you. 😢
Welcome to the club.
I am sure somebody already mentioned it but Law's tattoos, jolly roger and pirate name are all inspired by Corazon.
What made it hurt the most was when he died laws cry finally was made audible. He held out the longest so thst law xould escape
