LOVE THIS! I LOVE SEEING PEOPLE UNDERSTAND WHAT MAKE GOAT PIECE SO GOOD! ONE MOMENT YOU WILL BE HAPPY AF AND THE NEXT YOU WILL BE DEPRESSED AF! TRULY GOATED SERIES
Seeing Luffy getting utterly broken at the end of this episode was really hard to watch. For hundreds of episodes, Luffy's boundless optimism and unflinching will were enough to power through anything to protect those he cares about. The Marineford arc was a turning point in the series. We learn that the New World and the Navy are full of monsters of incredible strength, and that for Luffy to continue his journey at his current level means he may not succeed at protecting those important to him. Oda really knows how to define how the stakes have been raised.
This makes me feel a certain way now more than ever, because my older brother passed away this year. I thought that he was invincible and "wouldn't die" either. I thought we would grow old together...

@_unhaunts Thank you. I'm trying to be. I remember what Shanks said when he visited the graves of WhiteBeard and Ace. _"It's okay to cry, but you have to move on,"_ (not forget their memory or them, but keep going) and that resonates with me. Thanks, God bless.
@@Rude_Boi As someone who just recently lost his mother two months ago, I kind of understand what you’re going through even if it’s not exactly the same.
i love seeing how luffy struggled with not knowing what emotions to let out when crying. you can see it there, as he is almost angry then he dont know what to do with mouth as he has ticks, and lastly his cry/laugh. Because of the last 3 arcs were really bad for him.
Bruh I'm crying on Road 😭, every single time i watch these episodes i always always cry, ONE PIECE BREAKS ME. In this episode Luffy's Cry breaks me the most.
Everytime I see this even if I’ve watched it 100s of times it still makes me cry man definitely one of the hardest parts of the whole show to get through hurts my soul dawg
I don't think the rescue was all in vain. Ace always has doubts about his own worth/existence, and it's through the efforts everyone puts in trying to rescue him that he finally confirms that the answer is yes. It would be perfect if he didn't die, of course. But the regrets are mostly left to the livings (Luffy and his other families). As for Ace, he does die in peace.
Those last words "a good for nothing" if you ever had self esteem issues or depression before it's going to hit different. Then if you look at it from Luffy side it's his only brother that just died in his arms after getting beat down for the last 2 arc's and losing 10 years of his life. I lost count how many times ive watched some of these clips but I still can't help but cry it's worse since I'm at work 😭🙃
One piece can make even a rock cry ..thats the level of emotions they have put in making these beautiful episodes ...you cannot even blink for a moment in the Arc..it's just something els which connects to heart ❤️
I know you're well ahead in the series by now, but Roger and Whitebeard, in terms of strength, were far more even than Akainu was saying. He was just trying to downplay Whitebeard in this instance to get a rise out of Ace, which of course he succeeded in doing.
I remember when I first watched the end of marineford battle I got so depressed that it even made me quit watching OP for two weeks (before that I was watching it every single day) and still after I decided to finally continue I couldnt accept the outcome. R.I.P. Ace 😫💔
I don't know how many times I've seen this episode in both manga and anime but each time I can cry. I'd always admired Oda about his unique imaginations and creativities, but after this episode he was revealing all their childhoods episodes, the technic he used (before I couldn't really get why Ace was so important to Luffy just letting us to see him barely in the early episodes, then he shows us how they were closed and how much they cared each other while we are still freshly remember that how Ace's gone) I really think he is just a genius, I couldn't stop crying even after this episode, it continued to make us cry more, a massive way.
i dont think any other anime moment could top this for me. I knew already he was gonna die because manga but still, it took like 2 years for impel down and marineford to finish. If you watched it weekly back then it is such a loooong time for luffy to get to ace and then this sht happens

LOVE THIS! I LOVE SEEING PEOPLE UNDERSTAND WHAT MAKE GOAT PIECE SO GOOD! ONE MOMENT YOU WILL BE HAPPY AF AND THE NEXT YOU WILL BE DEPRESSED AF! TRULY GOATED SERIES
The “ you promised me “ breaks me everytime….
Imagine watching or reading this weekly way back then! These episodes were so damn good!
THIS SHIT HAS ME IN TEARS RN & i can feel the emotion from this person its like looking in a mirror
Everytime I rewatch 483 I cry. Every single time.
This makes me feel a certain way now more than ever, because my older brother passed away this year. I thought that he was invincible and "wouldn't die" either. I thought we would grow old together...
thats such a tough thing to go through, hope you’re doing okay
You okay?
@rickyuzumaki695 No, I'm not really okay, but I will be. Not that you care, but it just passed a year mark, and it hurts badly still... but Thank you, man. Thanks for asking..

As someone who just recently lost his mother two months ago, I kind of understand what you’re going through even if it’s not exactly the same.
i love seeing how luffy struggled with not knowing what emotions to let out when crying. you can see it there, as he is almost angry then he dont know what to do with mouth as he has ticks, and lastly his cry/laugh.
Because of the last 3 arcs were really bad for him.
that fact makes the situation seem so much worse. it IS so much worse imma cry now😭
Bruh I'm crying on Road 😭, every single time i watch these episodes i always always cry, ONE PIECE BREAKS ME. In this episode Luffy's Cry breaks me the most.
His cry rips through our soul.
Instant tears.
Trust me its mad, pfff
Something about the emotion put into Luff’s cry I could relate to.. amazing art
I think the worst part is when luffy smiles and asks Ivan if he can heal him. Gets me everytime.
I lost count how many times ive watched some of these clips but I still can't help but cry it's worse since I'm at work 😭🙃
This broke my fucking heart…
One piece can make even a rock cry ..thats the level of emotions they have put in making these beautiful episodes ...you cannot even blink for a moment in the Arc..it's just something els which connects to heart ❤️
28:30 You can see a big tear sliding his face 😢
That cry was different than other eps. While i watch, i absolutely felt it...
I know you're well ahead in the series by now, but Roger and Whitebeard, in terms of strength, were far more even than Akainu was saying. He was just trying to downplay Whitebeard in this instance to get a rise out of Ace, which of course he succeeded in doing.
Yeah also in the next episodes we get to know that Wb never tried to become king of pirates and had no intention of conquering the seas.
This is the content we love right here multiple episodes in one video. Much appreciated
I remember when I first watched the end of marineford battle I got so depressed that it even made me quit watching OP for two weeks (before that I was watching it every single day) and still after I decided to finally continue I couldnt accept the outcome. R.I.P. Ace 😫💔
I’ve cried too much no more tears will come out
It's impossible for me too not ball my eyes out from this episode especially after learning more about Ace even after his death
I always feel a guilty pleasure to see ppl react to this 2 episodes, as they say: "misery loves company."
what a terrible day for rain...
Fucking yes
Bruv you're watching it with your heart nice to see! Much love
I thought i would never cry again watching these but guess I was never right 😭
This man akainu had to take off his hat because he knew he was about start making crispy donuts.
Finally I have someone to cry with me through the pain in these episodes
I've Never Cried At Any Piece Of Media, One Piece Or Not, But This Is The Closest I've Ever Came. Truly One Of The Saddest Moments Across All Of Storytelling.
This is without a doubt one of the most goated arc, this scene and Hell, the entire goddamn series is such an emotional rollercoaster!! I bet no one and I mean NO ONE!! would be able to hold back their tears after watching this episode! The writing was simply phenomenal! It was so darn amazing that even Naruto paid homage to this scene in one of it's own episodes! (*wink wink* anyone who watched Naruto's Great Ninja War arc will know!). Mad props to Eiichiro Oda-sensei, he's a rare gem and a storytelling genius!
I will always remember One Piece as the show that made me cry for a 'ship'!!! A grown ass man at that!
This is why one piece is the number one anime for peak emotion and greatness😢😢😢😭😭😭💀😇
Even though I seened it many times, it still takes away some tears 😢
5:04 THATS YOUR ONE PIECE LAUGH NOW!!!! everyone has their personal laugh.
And that's how Akainu makes a donut.
Katakuri: Teach me.
lol
Years later and I still am able to cry from that scene
one piece made me cry harder than in my real life problems.
Then you must have a pretty good life
This episode just makes you very emotional especially if you have lost someone dear. Crying again after watching it so many times
What a great reaction! One of my favorite episodes too. Luffy`s cry is so painful
In this serie, almost never some caracter dies... but when someone die.. is a big thing XD
16:19 that words by GARP gave me goosebumps
I've rewatched this over a thousand times over 12 years of watching one piece and this still makes me emotional
I might have seen this 20 times, but I still can't stop myself from becoming a sobbing mess
I've been watching for this moment since you released your video of your thoughts on it months ago. It's been a journey. Love your reactions.
This honestly almost made me stop watching. I was so destroyed by Ace's death and seeing Luffy afterwards, I honestly thought the show would never be the same again. I picked it back up though, I started reading the manga from where I left off and it's been a hell of a ride. I'm so glad I stuck with it
No matter what is hit hard i lost a brother when I was 16 and u still miss him no matter who you lose keep fight. I had a very good familie and friends that help me talk to them and cry is okey i feel to many not letting there emotionel go free when something happen for them
Its been so many years since watching this episode and yet it still hurts so much I miss ACE !!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏
Watched this scene prolly like a 100 times now and still had tears in my eyes
I remember watching this episode for the first time literally went through all 5 stages of grief
Ohhhh we gona crying crying with dis one 😭😭
Four times I cried a lot in One Piece:
- Nami crying
- Robin crying
- Young Sanji's experience (when they were stranded and dying of hunger)
- And ACE dying
and after that The Post-Time Skip was full of emotions every arc..
Laboon and Brooks story
i just watched this for the first time a few days ago and i have never cried while watching one piece until now definitely one of the best tv deaths Ive ever seen and the only one that made me cry
I remember crying so much during this arc
Me too
Tellement sincère et touchante ta réaction, les vrais ont pleurer à ce moment.💔
Cried like a bitch rn fuck man this shit always hits
Don’t know what’s sadder, Ace’s last thank you or Luffy’s cry
