see people are gonna say its his routine that caused it, but in reality, they all have different hair history and hair types so everything is going to be different in terms of results. his tutorial is perfect especially for virgin hair. no method is going to be a one size fits all because everyone is different. if you fucked up your hair thats on you 😂
I haven't seen his tutorial, but I bet he started by saying you should probably go to a salon for the safest and most even results. Bleach is no joke.

Lol they obviously didn’t listen to you. I dyed my girlfriend’s hair purple and followed your bleaching instructions first. I watched your video like 7 times to make sure I did everything right. I even made sure we got the t18 toner so when we did the color it would be more even. I’ve never gone to school for it, I’ve never done anything other than clippers on hair, but I’ve gone with her to the salon and seen her get it done already. I hope you're out now! But the good thing about toners (REAL toners, not ones with developer in them!) is that you probably aren't going to do a lot of damage. The damage you can do is making your hair too dark to easily wash out, but it's not like bleach where you'll compromise the quality of the hair if you keep trying. It's hard for him to formulate a toner for someone he's never seen in person, but messing around with toners at home isn't a bad thing.

I actually followed your tutorial the day before to give myself (a natural brunette with very dark brown hair) hot pink bangs. And I am sooo happy with the result! It turned out so much better than I expected lol it came out with my literal favorite shade of pink and I'm in love with it. It still has room for improvement (I got so clumsy with the sectioning, it's harder than it looks) but I adore it! Thanks Brad!
Can someone please compile a list of everything brad says about bleaching hair like an absolute 101 guide? Like what to do when it turns orange? Which toner to use? How to section hair? When to use foil? Like theres so tips and tricks of his scattered all over his videos. Pleaseeeeee

Yaaaas please.
- Never start at the root, leave about 1 inches (unless it's a root touchup). Only bleach ur root once the mids and ends reach level 8-9
- Use foil if your hair is extremly dark (asian hair, level 3-5)
- Keep ur hair dirty before bleach session bc ur nature oil protects ur scalp
- Small section (almost paperthin, see through)
- Use 20-30vol developer depend on ur hair currentlevel, stay away from 40vol
- Always start at the back since hair down there normally darker bc of the lack of sun and shampoo, etc...
- Do test strand to find the perfect toner bc u never know how well ur hair lifts
- Use 10vol or less for ur toner, demi permanent
- U should remove ur previous hair color to avoid splotchy or unecessary damage
- Apply bleach evenly and a lot, your section should almost dreched in bleach like toothpaste
- Cover ur hair with shower cap with some water in it bc bleach only works when it's wet, u can use extra heat with hair dryer blowing it from outside
- If ur hair is splotchy after first bleach, only apply second time bleach on darker spot (properly lower your developer if the spot is not too dark)
- Avoid overlap at all cost
- Bleach doesnt lather.
- However, bleach wash does lather bc it's bleach mixed with shampoo (for color removal purpose)
- Never leave bleach on ur hair over 1 hour, 45mins is a sweet spot but the best to check ur hair every 10mins
- Color dont lift color, bleach does.
- Toner cause least to any damage but it'd deposit brassiness, therefor hair can appear darker or lighter
- Use demi or semi permanent hair dye for bleached hair for least to no damage
- T18 is for level 10 hair (pale yellow inside a banana color)
- Ur toner or demi permanent should match your hair level or else it wouldnt work properly
- Dont use too much protein treatment bc ur hair may snap off
P/S: this is what i've known so far from manny source and personal experience, it's a lot more but i cant remember all atm so that'll do

What I’m saying stupid when they blame him
I had virgin dark black/brown hair and managed to do really well with it. I dyed it orange so the little yellowy orange bits in my hair eventually just blended in with the dye. It's now since faded, but it's now pretty even.

It's an ammonia based toner. Used correctly on healthy hair It's amazing. Unfortunately it does damage & dry out the hair so use it sparingly. Really people need to use an ammonia free toner to close & fill the cuticle. It helps bring the pH to a healthier level. T18 does not do that. People like t18 because it does help lift some of that yellow outta the hair, but again that's more lifting.
Of course, boy mannequins are different from girl mannequins.

If you ever have the chance, get yourself some silk sheets or pajamas just once in life, its a bit of a religious experience and totally worth it.

Came up w/a nice compromise between my natural dark brown hair and the extra fun hair I want. Been having my hairdresser do goldwell elumen violet - no ammonia, so none of those probs. Covers my grays w/purple, but doesn't lift the color of my normal hair; just gives it a kind of transparent, purple cast, depending on the light.. She usually does roots, and pulls a few lowlights (?) through.
Try having 4c curly ass hair and your black dad not letting you do anything to it with both have problems that we can fix😃😅
Okay but I’m a natural blonde and it’s super easy for me to lighten/colour my hair. My mom started putting pink in my hair when I was 4. I’m now 22 and I can’t stop. There’s always colour of some kind in my hair. I Praise the natural haired girls
