I did a solid week of research before I tried to cut my daughter’s hair during Covid… I did one snip and realized I was not cut out for hair cutting! But it was only one tiny test piece! I can’t imagine just going in and hacking away.

Well Brad you have inspired me... after 52 years I am going to dye my hair for the first time. Don't worry I'm spending the money and seeing a pro. My hair is mostly black...with some white but all virgin hair. I will not face that bleach disaster! My niece is a hairdresser and she is going to do it ... she told me to prep for 4 to 5 hours. So big breakfast it is! Oh and the colour...blue.

I've still got some leveling up to do before I reach 52, but I went to wild colors too to cover some early grey! I don't regret it at all. Cherry red was fun, and I've been rocking a bright blue for awhile now. 100% love it. Hope you feel as fun as I do once you go blue!

Brad, I need you to know that in middle school I had a friend convince me that the way to dye my natural red+curly locks blonde was to use clorox bleach. She said all bleach was basically clorox and she had beautiful blond hair. I saturated my hair with it but all of the pain and burning made me wash it out, half wondering if I was about to blind myself.. hair was still red. I could still see but...

I actually went from red to blonde like level 9-10 but it was risky! LOTS of redken and olaplex
I stopped bleaching my hair last year but before that I always did it myself. It was risky and tricky, but because of the type and how much of it I used to have (3b/3c curls) it would have cost me so much to maintain professionally, at least $3-400 estimated per treatment with bleach and "fashion colors" plus heaven forbid I wanted it styled instead of leaving with my head soaking wet, to go home to my own expensive styling supplies I would still have to pay for in between. Having it done professionally wasn't an option for me so I had to learn. After 15 years though it just stopped being worth the hassle lol. But it can be done safely. 🖤
been watching Brad for years and often he repeats his advice everytime (cause we see the same mistakes lol) but his advice about buying toner AFTER was brilliant! never heard that before!

Everytime I watch Brad react.. I am so impressed with his level of knowledge but also how kind he is as he explains what was done correctly and what was done incorrectly and how it should been done from a professional standpoint. Knowledge is power and better hair results😝

When I went to the Sallys near me they actually told me to come back to get my toner (also asked if I knew exactly what colour it would turn out for sure) so I went back and very glad I did! Although my hair goes to very pale yellow really easily 🙏🏼

My roommate had me bleach the bottom half of her hair about a month ago and I was so nervous about messing it up that I stressed myself into illness. In the end, I got her auburn hair to a nice golden blonde and we died her top half dark brown and she looks amazing. I thank Brad for telling me HOW to do it without destroying my roommate’s hair!

I've gone to my salon to have my short hair bleached every single month (excluding lockdown) for six years straight and would still never attempt to self-bleach. I just don't know how these non-hairdressers have to nerve to do it.

My mom was my hairdresser when I was a teen and she NEVER listened what I wanted. So, I had red hair, red like a "stop" sign and I wanted my hair to stay red. She put black on my root. The crown around the head you talked about in the beginning of the video? I had it for years. Like, red, a big black crown and red again.
It's not all, I asked her to put red on my black crown, she did it. So, for another year I had red, SUPER FLASH RED crown and red on my head. I was so ashamed but I really liked my red hair and I knew it was hard to have this tone again... My mom is still a hairdresser, but not mine and it's the best decision that I made in my life.

My heart always hurts for these ppl that have epic bleach fails. I admire their gusto for sure. I have done some crazy and ballsy things to my hair, but if I ever wanted to go platinum blonde, or any shade of blonde, I would save up and find a good colorist. But I know all about impulse hair dying. I've done that multiple times in my many yrs on this planet. Kinda glad I grew up without so much technology. 😬 I have had many booboos. But luckily never a bleach mishap.

My friend is burning her hair with bleach all the time and she doesn't even realise it and just keeps doing it all the time, like her hair is almost gone now and she does not care
I work at Sally's and I always advise people go home with a bucket. I also tell them to get a couple of toners or wait on the toner and see where they are when they are done. Also, if people seem really uneducated on bleach I try to get them to rethink their purchase. If they are super nervous I advice doing their first round at a salon and then upkeeping on their own from there. Bleach isn't hard but it's not easy either if you're not experienced.

I feel bad for watching all of your bleach fail videos and have never commented...you probably won't see this but I wanted to say hi and thank you for the incredibly entertaining content! By the way, I'm a blonde - have been most of my life - but I made a ton of mistakes trying to do my own hair. I gave up on that years ago and love my hairdresser. At 51, I've learned that it is rare we can do at home what professional colorists and stylists can do. Anyway, thank you!
