It will only work if you use little flimsy shitty ass synths like the one in the video here. Anything more complex harmonically and ableton will trip up for sure.
Yeah... I'm never going to use that, since I'm able to arrange 808s in much more exciting ways than the root note of every chord following the exact rhythm of the chord progression 😂
One time I got a kick, used the EQ8 and boosted the fundamental with the most narrow Q, and it creates a long resonant tail which turns the kick into somewhat of an 808.
this is dope af but In feel like its for ppl starting off, most veteran producers would probably hate on this and tell you to learn how to notice if sumn is in or out of key, which isn't a bad idea. But, Once again, i think this is dope af and I will utilize it.
A veteran producer would say that you should absolutely utilize every tool at your availability, especially if it helps your production process. Anyone who would try to say that you shouldn’t do something like this because you need to learn how to tell if it’s in key probably wouldn’t even be a veteran producer, but they would for sure be a veteran dickbag. People who say things like that just do it to try and feel superior to others because they are insecure about their own talent. That isn’t to say you shouldn’t train your ears to know what’s in key and what isn’t, but to purposely handicap yourself by refusing to use tools to make it easier or double check would be foolish.
The reason 808's are out of tune is because most producers just assume every 808 sample is tuned to C and they don't bother checking it and can't hear a 1 semitone difference.
@@FearlessBeatzMusic Nah bruh. FL kills. If you can't find the 808 range... Learn music. I'm kidding mostly cause I like both Daws, but don't be proud of having a bad ear. Rule NUMBER 1 in production: Ear first. I wouldn't teach this because these noobs will get used to not using thier ear.

Its the 808 sample itself that needs to be tuned most of times

Exactly
get better samples
@@spyynz just tune them

You sound like a guy who found out about inverted a week ago and saw yourself like Mozart.
I usually would just pitch the bass notes up an octave or two and just do it by ear. Works every time. Good speakers help also.
same here. you can use this to fact check

This feature is a great starting point for generating bass note variations.
Sometimes it doesn't get the right notes but it's useful
Crazy tip : don’t be tone deaf, and make sure the bass sample ain’t out of tune lol
A fool proof method when you’re using loops or a sample is to just get a piano and add chords over the top 👍🏿

Solid tip and starting point
Nice feature 🔥
Ableton also have a scale midi plugin .
1. It only works if your 808s are tunes
2. Ur relying on ableton to fix it, it could be wrong
3. Out of key could be what you were looking for
yeah most 808s will already have a pitch bend baked into them so this video is more for 808s that are already tuned
This was a fire tip bro 😎
Use your ears. These methods are okay, but develop sensitivity to which notes to use

very nice trick bro!
Im glad im not tone deaf
And then music..... the end.
Sometimes the 808 out of key is a good thing. But not everything has to be diatonic, especially when somebody is talking about mrder
@kuroki listen to old WuTang. Its clear RZA sometimes didnt tune his 808’s or bass chops to be in key with the samples. That made them grittier.
Sounds way better if you just do it by ear honestly
