I can’t really see EPD 5 releasing Splatoon 4 any sooner than 2027. For one, Nintendo’s probably going to prioritize Animal Crossing after the success of New Horizons. 13:27 - I think a lot of visual novels have this problem. There's always a moment where you kinda have to remember that *you* might have figured something out, but the character you're playing as hasn't. You have to remember that you and the playable character are not the same person. It's a common cause of sticking points even in recent Ace Attorney games, because if you think too much about the case as a whole, you'll wind up several steps ahead of where the character is, and might not notice that. This is something that is very difficult to build around. I think the whole point of the 'think' option in the FDC games is precisely to get you up to speed with what the character's thoughts are at that moment (which it would make sense to consult any time you get stuck), but I can see why some people would still see it as a sticking point.
We don’t need Splatoon 4 anytime soon. From the outside looking in, Splatoon fans are full- and the content is as plentiful today as it was at launch with more to come. This. I’m having a great time on Splatoon 3. While it didn’t achieve the best of strides I am more than glad with my purchase and glad I stuck with the series since Splatoon 1. Side Order has the best replay value on single player play out of all the series. Octo Expansion best story and 3 had best visuals for story and final boss.

Still all fun games, but I've certainly got less and less interested as the rhythm of things (content release schedule, the style of stuff we get) has become pretty apparent. Havent even played Side Order, I haven't heard a thing about it compared to Octo Expansion.
Splatoon 3 was a major overhaul from Splatoon 2. Splatoon 1 and 2 were too similar because of its rushed development, Splatoon 3 had a longer development cycle.
If anything it DOES NOT need to change! I’ll honestly be surprised if Splatoon 4 DOES NOT adopt the same economic practices from other FPS games like Warzone and Fortnite (battle passes, over expensive cosmetics and loot boxes for new gear aka pay-for-win / gacha mechanics which are still a thing in Asian mobile games)
I haven't played a Splatoon game since the first. I thought it was fun but wasn't able to get on board with the gyro aiming and the QoL experience at that time was pretty bad, specifically with map rotation and having to dip out of lobbies to change weapons (that was a nightmare when playing with friends). However it's been long enough and ever since I really fell out of love with my shooter game of choice this year, I've been pretty eager to hop back into Splatoon, but I feel like it's too late to hop onto 3. For those reasons I'd be pretty stoked to see a new Splatoon game in the launch year of Switch 2.
I personally disagree that it's "too late" in get into Splatoon 3. That may depend on how you play the game or how much you care about Splatfests and such, but I got back into Splatoon when I tried 2 again less than a year before 3 came out (I played 2 for a couple months at launch and then dropped it, so I basically restarted fresh), and I had a good time with it. The Splatfests had been done for years, but plenty of people were still playing it, and I managed to get around 80 hours of play time out of it. I imagine people will still be playing 3 for quite a while after the final Splatfest is completed.
@@audoodle9963 Yeah it could be worse. Mario Kart 8 is a great game so I understand why it's been around for a while. Also I don't personally think we're getting Splatoon 4 for a while just because it's so soon after 3.

The fact that we are getting hints of a fourth Splatoon instead of a new Animal Crossing for Switch/Switch 2 might be the most infuriating and questionable decision Nintendo has made in recent memory. Someone please help me understand why a fourth Splatoon takes priority over a follow up to one of the best-selling games on Switch, and of all-time.
Nintendo tries too hard to protect people. They should have voice chat that is all recorded. If you say something bad and it gets reported, you get banned.
I'd be fine if Splatoon skipped an entire generation. I want a Star Fox, F-Zero, Golden Sun, heck, Kid Icarus. Anything from the catalogue that's been forgotten.
Splatoon is seen by Nintendo as one of their Big 4 (that they fully own), it’s never skipping a generation. Especially when it sells more than every single franchise you mentioned combined.
forgotten franchises like Famicom Detective Club, Metroid Prime, Another Code, Pikmin, Mario and Luigi, Mario strikers and advance wars? Idk I'm really tired of nintendo fans going "support legacy franchises" but what they really mean is "only make the games I want to play" There's no reason splatoon would interfere with the development of any game you named so to say nintendo should focus on them instead of a much more popular game just feels kind of like a bitter sentiment.

How about we focus on getting a new Mario Kart or Donkey Kong before getting the fourth Splatoon?
I'm really looking forward to Mario kart 9 but it's not as if this last decade has been completely deprived of new kart content.
@@audoodle9963 Yeah it could be worse. Mario Kart 8 is a great game so I understand why it's been around for a while. Also I don't personally think we're getting Splatoon 4 for a while just because it's so soon after 3.
This IP has really overstayed it's welcome imo. As crazy as it sounds, I would rather see this game go live service than get a fourth entry in the franchise. That is how sick of Splatoon I am. The fact that we are getting hints of a fourth Splatoon instead of a new Animal Crossing for Switch/Switch 2 might be the most infuriating and questionable decision Nintendo has made in recent memory. Someone please help me understand why a fourth Splatoon takes priority over a follow up to one of the best-selling games on Switch, and of all-time.
i hope not LOL splatoon needs a huge refresh and also dont drop 2 on a single console
All splatoon 4 needs is NATIVE voice chat to talk to your team mates and boom its instantly the best splatoon ever made
And by "to talk to your teammates", you mean call them racial slurs. Because voice chats only exist to scream slurs.
No. Splatoon is the only multiplayer shooter I play specifically because there is no voice chat.
@@lol-ih1tlis this why tf2 is always gonna be more popular than splatoon and doesn’t have this issue rather it’s just Nintendo being lazy?
@@burritobison7700 actually TF2 is on its deathbed. The bots artificially inflated the game's player counts.
Nintendo tries too hard to protect people. They should have voice chat that is all recorded. If you say something bad and it gets reported, you get banned.
Don't these long form videos disrupt the much more popular jon videos?
Supposedly GVG did muck up rhe algorythm for you guys
That was the GVGcast, which was livestreamed ulike these. Thus they may generate more views and attraction than if it was live streamed.
Your comment is passive aggressive.
You have no clue what you're talking about.
So splatoon is basically Nintendo call of duty
……Pretty much, yeah
@audoodle9963 yes, but more of that. Cycle through them.
