I don’t ever usually comment, but it’s -11 degrees currently where I live. My heat went out yesterday, and I’ve been trying to figure out the problem. This video fixed it RIGHT away. It kicked on instantly after following your instructions. I seriously can’t thank you enough for your videos!!
Wanted to let you know that this worked for me. Can’t say how thankful I am. You have my gratitude!
Just did this 5 mins ago i bought a new thermostat a few days ago thinking that was the problem this was a miracle thank you it was 58 in the house this video is well appreciated!!
This just started happening to me today. After a quick web search and subsequent watch of this video it was exactly my issue and cleaning the sensor seems to have worked perfectly. Can't thank you enough for uploading this, saving many people a costly repair trip, and lastly for making me into a UA-cam certified flame sensor cleaner.
Thanks! It works for me! You're an angel; I seriously appreciate it. I'm speechless with gratitude. May God bless you!
You just save the day in my household. I just pulled mine apart and fixed it. A little different but same fix. Thanks so much for this video
Found this today and this was exactly what was wrong. Thank you so much sir!
Glad it helped!
This just fixed my problem. Same unit. 8° North Texas. We don't use heat very often and didn't want to call on a Sunday. Thanks for the info. UA-cam university pays off again...
You deserve some special recognition because this appears to be the exact fix to my heater problem and we are having some cold temps even here in damp Seattle. Found the sensor cleaned it and the heater has been on for over 24 hours with no hiccups...thanks much !!

Just have a problem similar but my heater burns do works for like 2 min then they turn off even with the controller in always on then the all system shuts off and I starts again very quickly in seconds keeps doing the same for a couple more times then heater shuts off for last time and never come back on do you know what happen???
@@urielramirez8699 just try it bro it’s easy it should work
Seems like that was it for mine! Thank you very much for making this video! My Heil furnace was turning off about 5 minutes after burning then would turn back on after 30 seconds or so. Changed the limit switch and seemed to help but still didn’t stay on for the full cycle.
Totally worked. Woke up yesterday with house at 62. Thank you so much.
Awesome sauce
Thanks a million!! You’re greatly appreciated from my family to yours!!
Real mvp for real! Just did it to mine and it worked! Thank you man!
Worked for mine thank you sir! We are supposed to get a winter storm here in Texas tomorrow. Decided to act up how convenient but got it fixed luckily had sand paper laying around to!
Awesome. Glad you got it going!
Thanks for the tip. It worked great.
Bro, thank you so much you have saved me time and money. Appreciate you.💯💯
Glad I could help! Cheers
Thanks for the video. I have the same problem with a new American Standard system. Only a year old. It’s under warranty. Tech came out and did exactly what you did. Said sensor was reading 2.8 and should be reading 3.2. Whatever that means. Next day it started doing the same thing. On for a few minutes. Off for a minute and then back on for a few mins. Tech returned and replaced the flame sensor. Unfortunately today it is doing the same thing. Any idea what other issue could be causing this.
I gave it a try tonight hoping it’s my problem fix as well. Mine seems to come on when it wants to heat the house other times it’s like it is just recycling the house air
Thank u very much brother, I did as u said my furnace is working perfectly now. ❤
In my case, my heater will gas on, but then shut down, then within 5m, will try to turn on again. But then other times, the heat has no problem turning completely on. Could a dirty sensor be an intermittent problem?
Thanks, this video just saved me $80 service call,
Sweet! Glad it was helpful! Make sure and subscribe to the channel for more hvac tips and tricks! Cheers

Middle of January night 1 am I saw instructions and I did cleaning sensor with hard dishwashing steel scrub it worked, people should make vedio and upload them what they know axactly to solve any problem
In my case the furnace flames stays around for 30-40 sec and then turns off and after some time again turns on. I cleaned the sensor multiple times. Can you please let know Is there anything else I should consider ?
I did this and it just shut off again today. Worked for two day's. Installed new air filters, cleaned both ignighters, air compressed all the dust, any other ideas??
It worked! Thank You!
Great video. Thank you so much!
Hello sir , I have a question I hope you can guide me to understan better . We got our furnace about less than 3 years , we bought 7 years service so they come twice a year check heat or ac cold , this year they came to service furnance for hot air . The man this time went & sat down in front of the furnace for over 30 minutes , I ask him What's up ? he said checking the gas presure , the man was huge so I was not able to watch him , when I starded to ask him what's wrong he took the sensor out & pretends he is cleaning , but before he was taking some part out & shove it in his left side bag , when he left heat was not like before , when we put the thermostat at 74 or at night 75 hust to warm out fast then go back to 74 , what ever the man did to our furnace we have to keep it at 79 , then works only 5 minutes then turn off . I have complain 3 time they send someone else & play dumb , are you able to guide me what he has done . we have paid for 7 years service , each time
they come they try to sell something . Is that amazing ?
hell yea fixed my issues thanks a bunch i subscribed
Thank you you save me some money
That’s was my problem thanks
That's funny I have the same heater my was doing same thing all this time I haven't cleaned the sensor how long the heater stay on when it's at 75°
Thanks so very much
Thank you 👍
Thanks this was a big help, great tip
Glad it helped!
Thank you
Thank you...Peace
Thanks your a life saver!!!
we just got a new board and still shuts off when ready to start would that be caused by blower bad
Worked for me thanks 🙏🏻
tried this in the past and it work. This time it didn't work. bought a new one and installed it (didn't touch metal part). still didn't fix it. Any ideas? fast alternating red and green light
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why don't you provide an alternative solution if that doesn't work? I just tried with a Rheem and nothing. What if the ignition pilot doesn't glow before igniting the rest of the fire tubes?
My furnace was blowing cold air today, and the burners were shutting off after a couple seconds. I pulled out the sensor and cleaned it with steel wool and I have heat again.
Awesome glad this was helpful for you
Thanks 👍
It works thanks
Gracias!!🙏
Well, Ours may not be turning on and off, but it just short cycles.
Hmm, Is it flashing any codes? I always check the filter first and foremost, if you don’t have a new one to put in yet, just pop it out and let it breath and go from there
Is it keeping the home where you want it at, temperature wise? If so, it may be incorrectly sized for your home. If not, then there is definitely another issue.
Can these go bad ? I cleaned mine and it worked like 5 minutes
Yes it’s not common but they can go bad. They need a good connection so if the screw is not snug and it’s not making a good connection to ground, they will have issues
My furnace will run for 10 minutes, turn off for 30 seconds and then turn back on until the set temperature is reached.
Why?
😀Thanks! you just saved me $150.... I BUY YOU A PIZZA
Thank you so much!! 🙏🏻
Please let this work
Did it work?
Exactly what my furnace is doing but after cleaning and even replacing the sensor, still won't keep a flame for more than four or five seconds. None of these videos, including this one, give advise of what's next. I'm being told I need a whole new furnace.
Help me out thanks a lot
This guy someone aways fucking up the field.
Didn’t work for me
Thanks!
