They were the best and was long after they stopped making them. I still have my 5020fd with the 111 board. Still Looks better then anything ive seen in store besides oled
I have a ten year old 40” 1080p Sony in my bedroom and it’s doing just fine but I got a bunch of Amazon gift cards for Christmas and I must say I’m tempted to upgrade to this tv. I’m deep in the Amazon ecosystem and this would be a nice treat. The price is right, and the picture and sound look good! I go back to the laser disc days, so it’s nice to see Pioneer being a trusted name again. This test is quite impressive, especially for a budget TV! May have to pick one up, especially since I have the Amazon cards. Thanks for the great review.
Hey Steve, great review. I wasn't sure what to get when I went to Best Buy, turns out they had this Pioneer and their home brand, on sale for $189, so I went with the Pioneer after seeing your review.

Great video thanks for sharing. The 50 inch version of this pioneer is on sale today for $200 bucks I'm going to get it for my mother in law who is using a tv from like 2010 so I'm sure this will be a major upgrade.

Hi @Tech Steve. Just wanted to let you know that your video is what made me pull the trigger. I was on the fence due to the absence of information about this TV, but after watching your review, I went ahead and bought it at my local Best Buy. Been using it for 4-5 days now and I have to say I'm quite impressed by the image quality and setup was a breeze. I got it hooked up to a soundbar through HDMI ARC and everything worked right out of the gate. Hi Steve, great review. I'm looking at this pioneer which is now $169 on Best buy versus the Hisense A7 which they have on sale for $199. What's your thoughts on these two televisions? I'm leaning towards the Hisense because I'm mainly a Google guy, but this TV is mostly going to be used by my wife in the living room and she won't take advantage of many of the smart TV options. This looks like a heck of a TV though based on your review, but you're right, there is not a lot of information on it. Thoughts on this decision?

Good job Tech Steve, this was a great video. It was very informative and helped me navigate my way through alllll the other Flat screen TV's to choose from. Question? What about over the air channels that I currently watch with my converter box on my Sony analog. Yes my awesome Sony Trinitron Flat screen that's close to 20 years old whose sound went out. I notice this TV has an internal digital tuner so I'm thinking I won't need a separate converter box. Is this correct, and will this TV allow me to still receive the over the air channels? Oh also does the remote not having numbers limit the TV in anyway? Thanks and keep up the good work.
This is Nov 2022. and Best Buy has the Pioneer - 50" Class LED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV Model:PN50951-22U on sale for $249. I was thinking about buying it for the new PS5 I bought. I bought the Roku you recommended and it's been a good tv but now I've got the 4k itch.
Okay, Steve, you've had the tv a month now. Are you still as impressed with it as you first were? How does it upscale a dvd? Does it have a web browser like the Toshiba Fire?
Amazon has this for $199, on 7/26/22, I want a TV for Over the Air antenna receiving, did you test the TVs tuner?, how do you change the TV station with that simple remote?
Hey Steve, do I have to set my Media Gallery to play in 4K for my videos on a flash drive or does it already pick up the 2160 Resolution? If not, How do I change it to 2160 Resolution? Also, how do I take CC off of videos playing in the Media Gallery?
Oh, I remember Pioneer Elite well. I used to have the CLD-79 laserdisc player... until it got hit by lightning. Now I have a Pioneer DVL-919 DVD/LD combo player. It's not as good. :( Looking for a TV to replace my 10-year-old Sony now. Not gonna lie... I didn't understand a lot of what you said, but it sounds like it was mostly good things? I imagine OLED and QLED is kinda overkill for 43". I just want something with significantly less digital motion blur than I'm getting now with my old LCD Sony.
Awesome I remember LD, I wish it was a way to explain newer TVs more simple, but it’s not simple if you haven’t shopped in awhile. You just have to jump in and start learning
@@TechSteve Well, learning is over. I just bought one. :) I might be a bit of a sucker for the Pioneer name. That, and Yamaha, have served me well over the years. Can the legs be adjusted to be closer together?
No convertor needed

Great review. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot.
You’re welcome
This is Nov 2022. and Best Buy has the Pioneer - 50" Class LED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV Model:PN50951-22U on sale for $249. I was thinking about buying it for the new PS5 I bought. I bought the Roku you recommended and it's been a good tv but now I've got the 4k itch.
How have you been doing with it?
How is this model vs the Hisense AH models?
Is Bluetooth capable?
Great review I'm gonna buy this TV tomorrow 👍🏽👍🏽
Great video! Where do I find your affiliated link? Im not tech savvy if anyone thinks this is a dumb question 😅
Thanks, hope the still have some availability

Okay, Steve, you've had the tv a month now. Are you still as impressed with it as you first were?
How does it upscale a dvd? Does it have a web browser like the Toshiba Fire?
Lol, i film videos and put back in box. I don’t actually use them
I know they still make DJ Equipment
They are still known for and make Car audio
I haven’t purchased a after market car stereo in 10 years, the website is almost empty that’s why I said waste side. Terrible 😞
How’s the sound?
Amazon has this for $199, on 7/26/22, I want a TV for Over the Air antenna receiving, did you test the TVs tuner?, how do you change the TV station with that simple remote?
Hey Steve, do I have to set my Media Gallery to play in 4K for my videos on a flash drive or does it already pick up the 2160 Resolution? If not, How do I change it to 2160 Resolution? Also, how do I take CC off of videos playing in the Media Gallery?
I can’t remember everything on a a video that over a yr old, sorry
So buying this and telling SO that its Pioneer its better than Sony:)
This TV is great for the price, Sonys are more expensive. Twice the price
Oh, I remember Pioneer Elite well. I used to have the CLD-79 laserdisc player... until it got hit by lightning. Now I have a Pioneer DVL-919 DVD/LD combo player. It's not as good. :(
Looking for a TV to replace my 10-year-old Sony now.
Still, your review makes me feel confident that this is a reasonable choice. Not the best, perhaps, but solid, which is what I'm going for here. I'll be setting it up next week when I get my new TV bench. The one I have now is too small for it.
@@TechSteve I'm with New Carpathia. I have an old pioneer recordplayer+receiver system and love it so much and sucker for the name. Going to buy this unit based on your recommendation to be honest. Seems like a solid choice
@@newcarpathia9422 fellow yamaha + pioneer fan!! buying this TV for reasons similar to yours
it is good gaming with ps5 on this tv ?
That has a great picture compared to 5he more expensive tvs, you said not much color, but I say it seems to have the right amount, for more expensive have to vivid of pictures, and most don't look right color Tone wise for the most part, but thats my opinion
Thanks for sharing
Steve this a great review thx! #jerseyboys 💪🏼
