Obviously we're going to discuss acquiring rare tickets and whether it's a good thing that STFC is allowing you to get more event store currency from them as well as the basics of how to acquire them. Also, we go over player feedback when it comes to whether REGULAR ticket events should have event store currency or not.

It's a disgrace they dispensed with event store currency from uncommon ticket events, having given it out previously. Another thing effectively locked behind a semi-paywall.
No, it is a full pay wall. hear me out on this one, they put 3 rare ticket events each week. You can only get one per week so in order to get 3 tickets to run all events you need to run all 9 uncommon every week and save the rare tickets for event store currency months you get 3 maybe 4 uncommon tickets per week so you must buy the 6 uncommon tickets per week to complete so you get the rare tickets to get the max potential event store currency. Tat means that you have to purchase 720 tickets every year just to get the event store currency that you used to get F2P. So $200.00 US for something that you used to get F2P. I would rather have the currency and those who like the materials in the uncommon tickets can go spend the $200 on materials packs and then everyone will be less annoyed for getting what they want.
Event stores are the f2p players opportunity to source the content that were behind paywalls in previous months. Or at least they used to be. We’re not getting enough currency. I can grind mats in game and budget those accordingly, I can’t grind Phlox and T’ana.
THANKFULLY, this month is back on track for normal ES earnings (granted it's only a 2 month ES. We'll have to wait and and see what a 3-4 month pays out)
@@RevDeuce that's not comparable because they are only giving up 7 shards f2p of the rare offices.
I'd like to see the ticket events return to providing the rare officer of the month shards like they had in arcs past. The way Scopely has held on to rare officer sourcing the past few months has been disappointing.
With current ticket sourcing, I don't think there's really too much that needs to change with rare tickets. I see it as a bonus for those who want to plan and complete all ticketed events in a weekend.
1st we had events that gave T1 unlock rare officer. Then we have to BPass+ticks. Now we have Epic heroic events for Rare officer with no sourcer else $$$$. And SHUT UP DJz with "you can get the rare officer on event store at end arc". They never put actual officer. We want to spend on epic officer or upgrade our rare not "unlock" it. Any chance u let players spend on things like ships skins with good ability instead on officer with no source if u miss the event store?
Agreed, the reduction in event loot is just another middle finger to f2p and low spenders, same as with officer acquisition changes. $copely focusing more and more on bigger spenders
At the very least you should be able to unlock the rare officer through battlepass and event store. Doesn't help when scopely locks event currency behind Prime Pack events.

243,000 is an unforgivable amount of currency to remove from the economy. Simple as that.
They have not added extra currency through extra events since this change, because they often struggle to keep up a one completable event (so non-heroic) per day average to begin with at the best of times.
The solution is simple. Give the mats and the event store currency these months or just increase the event store loot thats in other events.
keep in mind the new ticket system forces each person to buy 720 tickets each year to get the same event store currency that you could previously get F2P when it was tied to the uncommon events. This translates to $200 in ticket packs per player or they miss out on what they used to get. ARE YOU FEELING UNDERMONITIZED YET?
They need to find a better compromise for ticketed event store currency. So few can get the rare tickets needed. Especially when they are trying to get rss to advance their bases, ships, and research.
I have never been a fan of the events stores, however there use to be items like skins and projectiles that made it semi ok but it seems that all the paid content is just going to stay that way, so event stores are trash. Event stores are pretty much 4/5 months a year I can't progress in the game. They over value the store currency, and they really haven't given out any in the past two stores. Who cares if they gave out more this time than last time, I still can't progress my game because I'm not getting any material. The only way to get me to enjoy these event store months is for them to have material and currency in every event

I don't understand how materials vs event store tickets is even a discussion. You yourself have said that the daily pull from the Bajoran faction store is as good as most resource events, but there's no where I can get most of the things from the faction store. I'm still 16 shards short from Tucker after that last joke of an event store, and not getting anywhere close to Phlox this time. Scopely saw we figured out a way to game the system and they punished us.
I quite like this. Event store currency is good provided there is something worth getting. However the 1.1 million power creep one is a real hassle to achieve
My suggestion is to put Rare tickets in the 30 day chest for ftp players as well as do a multi day sms during archs. Then the spenders can buy them like normal. Event store currency should only be in the final tier of a regular ticket event with resources being in the lower tiers. This still gives scopely their money but gives ftp players a chance to get slow drips to make everyone just a little bit happier without messing with the Meta
The compromise is pretty simple add the event store currency to the final un common ticket milestone. But understand they want to sale the un common tickets to get the rare tickets.
My main gripe about the Ticket Events has nothing to do with mats and rss vs ES loot. It’s about how they stopped rewarding any Officer shards in the Service Commendation SMS. And back when they first introduced Ticket Events, there’d be an Officer shard in the final milestone of the Unc Ticket Events too. Very Scrooge and unfortunately very typical from Scopely 🤦♂️

I didn't mind the uncommon ticket events paying event store currency when they paired it with officer shards. If the choice is materials or just straight event store currency, I'll continue to vote for materials, but that's also because the event store is pretty meh where I'm at (Ops 57).

Most players know, there are normally three ticketed events per arc, that's 27 regular tickets you need to spend to participate in all the rare events. If you have less than nine, then there's little point spending those because you won't earn a rare ticket. I just ignore the rare ticket event now, use the regulars to get resources. If Scopely can tighten it's purse strings, then so can I.
You always said: "mats are the worst option in the store" and now we are forced to "take" mats just to get 1.5 epic officer shard...
I liked the store currency in the uncommon tickets. Though that isn't how I voted on the survey. Question was did I like the resources, and I did, so I voted yes... but I didn't over store currency. Store currency is way better.
Also, given the current method, I would love to see the rare tickets as an arc long sms with rewards at 900/1800/2700. I get those are somewhat premium, but current f2p option is I need to save all uncommons and blow in one weekend to get a rare is a huge tradeoff when wanting to focus on gas or ore events. A arc sms would allow to f2p to get 1 an arc by going after just gas, which I think is fair; while still allowing spenders to get 3 an arc.
The better for everyone may be that we can choose what to get, resources or blueprints or officers, this events that can't be completed without paying the money, would be good that we can get it after, but not so late.
I can see the argument for either the event store currency or standard materials in the uncommon ticket events so I don’t have strong thoughts on that, even if my preference is probably slightly towards event store currency.
Officer shards is a different story. Scopely has been aggressively reducing officer sourcing from the ticket events. Removing the shard from the final milestone is 27 shards a month which doesn’t even include the handful that used to be in the BP overflow. For the rare tickets, getting 5 shards of a targeted officer is way different from yet another RNG pull for 5 officers. While only Dixon Hill and maybe the Picard officers are real duds in the chest, it completely eliminates the choice from players who want to target an officer. These are bad choices that particularly hurt FTP and low spend who really need this just for an unlock.
I really like the material payout for the ticket events because I think the Event Store itself is pretty bad. The officers are okish but mostly they are way way too expensive anyway even if we would get event store currency in the ticket events. Ship BP are also ok, but its better to work on getting factions credits. All the rest in the event store is useless, so for me getting materials and with that a chance to score in the officer SLBs is worth a lot more.
For the 100th time, if they give you the event store loot then put “ticketed event” bundles in the store that cost what the ticketed event pays, and pays out the resource and material loot that a ticketed event would pay, they can please everyone. There is an easy answer here 7:47.
I get it. Saving up for event stores was giving way too much currency. I've got e data at t4 with light spending of battlepasses. I shouldn't be 100 shards away from maxing any recent officer. Supposed to take a year or two and their value to be diminished.
Ok, so 2 things...
1) event store currency is STILL WAY DOWN. It used to be 6K for the top milestone for events, now it's half that. That being said, the event store still SUCKS. It's basically officers and if you haven't gotten all your specialty ship blueprints. No skins, no projectiles, nada.
2) if the economies are so much better than they used to be (like the 6 months to lvl 34 malarkey (which is NOT F2P with an APPROPRIATE level of research, officers, and ships), why would so many people want materials and resources? Oh yeah, they've increased the demand with additional researches, specialty ships. Nevermind the huge amount of niche officers.
I've been saving my uncommon tickets despite needing the materials, in the hopes that I get one more (to reach 9) and can work on getting a rare next time they run it. The struggle is real, as F2P.
The problem is this Event store and many of the SLB's are related to owning the Gorn ship, sharply skewing the currency towards those players are fewer event SLBs that allow for a fair and level competition to earn currency.
plus they cut a number of them down to 5 places instead of the normal 50

You can actually get 4 tickets a week if you get the Friday one at noon, every 22 hours, your last one will be at 6 am on Monday.
Also sticking ec behind enemies that most of us who do not have a maxed epic with alot of iso officers plus artifacts ducks
4/9 per weekend f2p.. if you time your 22hr claims efficiently..
I despise the change. if the higher lvls want mats, have two sets of ticket events. one with event store currency and one with mats. there'll be players who spend to get it all and that's their perogative. that's a win-win. freedom of choice for players and more $ for scopely from the people who choose to do all the ticket events.
44% is less than half - doesn’t matter ‘how many people’ it is, it’s simple, less than half - if you wanna deep dive, find out those who spend vs f2p who want / don’t want event currency in event tickets
Event store I got Monaveen and Borg Cube, but will be better if we can get another ships blueprints, the medusa and norht star are absurd for a player level 48 like me. The game cointnues giving gifts that are ridiculous, there are a lot of things that are absolutely useless at my level.
Maybe Scopely just realizes it’s best to put officer shards, mats AND event store currency in the uncommon tickets. Sure, I know, sounds like I’m asking for the moon 🙄 but why not? It’s an EVENT STORE!!! I’d rather spend my real money on the 15,764 different primes they’re shoving every month 😒

Doesn't matter if it is a two month event store the amount of currency should always be the same. What would the reaction be if they decided to give out half of the materials during an arc???
Event store is an event store and the currency should be the same amount each time, it doesn't matter the time frame between them
it's not the same because we now have to spend a good percentage of the event store currency on the rare officers they are giving 7 shards of f2p during the arc. it would take an extra 100 to 150k currency to match it up with the past 2 month event stores. where you were getting at least half or more of the rare officers during the arc even. when it was a single rare arc
Ticket events stopped being worthwhile when they removed officer shards from them.
If they're going to make you have to grind all 9 ticket events just to get event store currency, said event store currency should equal all of the amount of event store currency that would have been provided in each of the 9 ticket events it took to be able to get the rare ticket and a bonus amount for doing the rare ticket. Otherwise it's ridiculous
Certainly get that logic, or conversely, simply pay out more in normal events. Which is what they opted for this month.
if the loot was there instead of the recuits so we got the loot we used get it would be fine, its virtually an even exchange
Personally I prefer the materials in the ticket events as there's been nothing of value to me in the last year of event stores, and the amount of currency has been dropping considerably each time. So much of the event store currency is now locked behind all the pay to participate events that the ftp can't get any decent amount of them for the meh, very old and outdated stuff in the event stores nowadays. On average there's been 1 event with event store currency a day and the rest are all pay to participate events which is a shame, I get pay to win but now it's pay to participate. 😔
The low payout combined with the meh arc store make the tkt events not worth doing... and definitely not worth paying for... So I guess we save em up, hoping we get the ship eventually... cause we clearly aint getting it this arc...

It's not rocket science to just run 4 events instead of 3. Ore, Gas, Crystal and Event store currency. Scopoley might even sell some more tickets that way
need to do 9 ticket events and you only get about 3 free tickets a day not easy for the F2P players if it was 300 instead of 900 ok not that bad then
Hello everyone, Why were we not informed about this change at the beginning, I could have saved the tickets. So now we have to save tickets again to have some extra currency, of course I will lower the rating. 🖖
What they should have done was not monkey withbthe stores in first place and use the rare ones to unlock rare officers from previous arcs
The Borg Cube in my event store still says 75 shard limit not 100
