    The npc defence rebalancing sounds extremely reasonable, I'd love any excuse to diversify my gear when pvming, especially slayer. It gently encourages the roleplay aspect of the game, and I think that's something that's underappreciated by a lot of the playerbase now that efficiency is so important to most people.

      So long as it actually makes sense. I don’t want poorly justified elemental weaknesses. Like do you just randomly make nechrayels weak to air? Should bloodvelds be weak to water or earth? There’s very few that would make sense to have an elemental weakness - like a pyrefiend. I just hope they don’t overdo it

    I’d like to see the elder maul become 5 tick, scythe would still outclass it completely but at least it would become a usable mega rare

      It already compares to a tent whip against tanky bosses like Bandos. A power up to it serves no function but pumping lazy and greedy speculators asking for its update to make a quick profit.

      As someone with 4 elder mauls on their GIM and no other megas, I would love a maul buff so I wouldn't feel so bad rolling them so often

    Regarding the changing of Defence of monsters to have them lean more into niches, I feel Gargoyles was an excellent example on their end. Cause when I first got to that point, I was curious of what they would be weak to and I think I read somewhere that they were weak to crush. So I felt like it would be right to bring something like a Leaf Bladed Battleaxe on crush. But then found out later that a Whip or even the D-Scim would be better DPS when I did the calcs, so that was a bit disappointing

      yeh thats mainly because speed is in an insane factor in rs, if the axe was same speed, it'd probably win.

    I think run energy does need something done but only for f2p and early levels. It takes like 12 mins to fully restore at that level and its a big turn off for brand new players

      Genuine question, but why only for early game? Do you think something would be lost at the higher end if they improved it, say 50% better (assuming 99 agility and graceful that is like over a years grind)

      @@Tejmaster1 I have 88 agility, poh pool, and most end game qol items. I never use staminas, ring energy recharge, graceful in any activity besides cox and sometimes gwd (usually bring a stam pot to these places just incase). The early game would benefit greatly from a small run energy buff. It’s pretty awful to be walking everywhere.
      Most people use staminas at Sara, but with the bowfa there’s a method for 0 run energy drain and never getting attacked from zily.

    I didn't explain my concerns on 0s and run energy well on video so i've cut that out & clarified these below. Appreciate the comments, helped me word this better.
    0s gone from accurate rolls is actually not a small change to your damage at all. It's actually way stronger than it sounds especially on higher end pvm items like scythe for ex. would multiply that extra damage several times for free as it rolls 3 times per hit or weapons that are extremely fast like BP. However, It is weird to not know which 0s are hits, but I'm sure there's a better way to indicate this without giving out free damage - maybe different hit splat color. Also, some way to roll less 0s on low level account stages that feels natural is fine too as i do believe it would improve the early game experience.
    Also regarding running - I'm talking bout the running system, the thing jagex wants to revamp. Agility isn't the running system - it's merely a part of the system. Jagex saying a revamp to run isn't the same as we're guna tweak the agility skill to improve running. They didn't give us any ideas as to how. Logically it does sound like it'd be related to agility. Improving run through actual content like making agility positively affect run more is fine. I'm just concerned about the actual running system as a whole because it sounds like it's way more than simply buffing agility. I would simply not want an overhaul to the system if they don't have a concrete plan.

      They could add glancing blow, parry and dodge. Adding more stat modifiers gives more depth too.

      Seems to me like there's a 2-in-1 solution for the low level prayers and the hitting 0's at low levels problem.
      What if the 5% damage bonus prayers are changed so they bump the minimum hit from 0 to 1, but remove the 5% str bonus? I suppose it could be too good for its level, but I feel like it's right that a low level prayer is useful in the early game and then outclassed to irrelevancy later on in the early game.

    Elder maul should get a 2x accuracy roll for crush. Just like the fang, but for crush.

      Exactly this, elder maul would be so much better if you didn’t splash so much, and with it being as rare as a tbow, it should be bis in more than one niche spot. Not to mention it’s lack of spec leaves the user really desiring more

      Id be happy with ancestral getting it. Anything that increases my bank value, im salty about voidwaker halving in price when im so close to staff rebuild while keeping essentials

      One thing they need to make sure of while moving it around is that top end sets that currently have magic damage % end up with either the same or more magic damage % than they originally had. Like current top end sets with magic damage % are Virtus and Ancestral, if you take the 10% off the Occult, you need to ensure that someone wearing Virtus or Ancestral with Eternal boots and tormented Bracelet, STILL has that extra 10% magic damage bonus or it's going to inadvertently affect the value of things like Ancestral, Virtus, Shadow, which would not be cool. Shadow is already underwhelming outside of ToA in the content it's good in compared to T Bow outside of CoX, it doesn't need more nerfing, if anything it needs a buff outside ToA, something to make it more damaging against specific enemies like T Bow's max increases based on the enemy's magic level. It is a raid megarare, the last of the raid combat triangle, both it and Scythe should be matching up to T Bow in all relevant content.
      Example: Right now the T Bow can hit 94 on Phantom Muspah, in both melee and range phases, it has the same attack speed as Shadow, Shadow can hit a 66 in current max mage outside of ToA, that's a disgusting difference honestly. This is when not on a task with either style, if you go on task Shadow's max goes up to a whopping 73, wowee, it gains 7 max hits... while T Bow would get a max of 105 at Muspah on task, that's an increase of 11

    buffing the mace and the other two of the 4t trio by +3 str bonus and +5 attack bonus would do quite nicely imo. especially as they were t75 weapons on release and are now t80.

    I think one of the biggest things about making magic and range styles is that it could make any given weapon have a niche somewhere. suddenly give blowpipe a completely different stat from bofa and they perform better in different areas.

      But who and why are you going to make weak to darts? I don’t think there’s any good logical reason to give different range ammos different strengths against different enemies. Should skeletons be weak to darts or javelins for example

    people calling this EoC have zero idea what eoc was, or why it was a major quit moment for many of us.
    voidwaker being different in PvM & PvP is them making the same mistakes again with splitting the two player bases, mage def split feels really exciting for early / mid game mage
    blogpost has more good then bad in it so Im fine with it

      Mage def split also feels super natural for a medieval fantasy MMO like Pyrefiends would naturally be weak to Water spells, Moss giants weak to fire etc. etc. I love this change.

    i think they would need to make bloodfury use 1 charge per every scythe swing so it can be more usable that combo and become cheaper and more reliable too

    Ok a couple things:
    I think the 1-max hit revamp needs to be polled, then beta tested, and then polled again because that could be a huge change.
    The fang nerf opens the door for buffs for other end game items by having a double accuracy roll item for each attack style like the Blade of Saeldor for slash and Inquisitors Mace for crush.
    Low level prayers just simply need new effects like a flat stat boost to make them useful, and I do actually think this matters because low level PK pures will find uses for the prayers and highlights the power and need to train prayer for new/low level players.
    Concerning the new typing for range and magic I think that’s great. I think this can be implemented in a way that doesn’t get rid of the oldschool feel of this game while adding new metas and making useless range and mage items fun to use. Jagex isn’t proposing adding new items, simply reviving dead content, imagine as a lower level player finding out you can utilize spell weaknesses rather than just grinding the next fire spell, or anti pking fire surge pkers with water surge?
    I think in general a lot of these changes could be really fun and add to the depth of this game without ruining what we already have.

    Kinda hoped for a defence ignore effect on the scythe like the brimstond ring does but it would roll every swing 25% 75%
    1 single target option wouldve been nice aswell 😅
    Fang shouldve reduced accuracy since it rolls 2 times anyway is weird to see the fang out dpses scythe at places like bandos krill

    For inquisitor, you should be able to fortify it with justiciar armor components to beef it up a little like masori. It's also thematically consistent.
    I think your resistance to changing 0 hits on successful accuracy checks and more forgiving run energy lacks empathy for truly new player's experiences. Those are two of the most needlessly annoying things to deal with, especially within the first few hours of playing for the first time. Walking is a forced loading time, it could at least be more forgiving for people who want to quest early in the game. Even if it's just a rest option.

      it's not that im against running changes - it's just that they have nothing to show for it atm so it's a weak statement to make. If it's reasonable then fine. However, with how these kind of changes end up, it'll be straight up giving you way more lenient energy use which diminishes a lot of existing features n items for energy management because most people get greedy and could care less bout game balance.
      Also the accuracy change is actually a lot of free dps especially on endgame weapons like scythe and bp, that's not ok. there's better ways to handle how to show that you landed without it giving away so much dps.

    Give it something similar to fang's accuracy rolls but on the 2nd and/or 3rd hit.
    Example: If 1st dmg misses, reroll for 2nd hit, if 2nd hit miss, reroll for 3rd hit.
    Fang
    Just remove the slash option altogether
    Voidwaker
    Leave it alone
    Elder maul
    New effect called executioner
    If opponent is less than 10% hp and that amount of hp equals to maul's max hit, then maul will do a max hit.
    Soulreaper axe
    Not sure, so no comment
    Ancient godsword
    Leave it alone tbh

    The rolling 0 on an accuracy roll that you hit on, I think if done right would be amazing. I know a lot of people say overpowered but if they redo the defense values where its more unlikely to hit on the defense of monsters then it would even out on high level pvm but be amazing for low defense targets and low level training.

      Yeh they'd absolutely do it with rebalancing accuracy rolls to make dps the same but "feel" better. And it means you know when you are hitting 0s you are MISSING. Which leans into what Rice was sayign about stat and gear upgrades feelign meaningful.

    Not a fan of the occult nerf , yes the item itself is very cheap but it require 93 slayer to get when you can leach cox at low combat and get ancestral anyway

      keep in mind being cheap is just one of multiple reasons why occ should change. 10% is just too high one an accessory. also very few people in this game can casually leech cox so i wouldn't say that's a good counter

    Left-field suggestion, but what if the soul-reaper could be imbued with barrows melee armor for their respective effects. Could tie lore in with a more fun effect and bring relevance back to barrows armor in a more freeing way.

    Yes! I've been saying for years that the skill guide isn't a guide. Having a skill guide that doesn't require you to immediately google the OSRS wiki 15 seconds later every time should be an integral part of gameplay.

    My idea for the voidwaker: Make the special use melee strength and magic accuracy. Tankable with ranged armor, counterable because people will probably spec in robes.

    I'm sure it's been mentioned - sub stats for range/mage exists in RS3 and i think logically it makes sense (and adds reward space). Only thing RS3 had to balance for magic with elemental spells is ensuring all 4 spells on a tier deal equal damage (eg, wind strike and fire strike share the same dps potential). This would require a change in OSRS, otherwise a wind-spell weak NPC would be sacrificing dps. Also how would non-spell magic weapons work like Trident and Shadow?
    As for run energy, it's one of the 2 big reasons I don't enjoy OSRS outside of leagues - I don't think its removal would be good either, but I think essentially requiring staminas for a good gamepaly experience is bad and 'patching it' with pools isn't a healthier solution than just not requiring them.

    No longer hitting 0s on successful hits is MASSIVE and is such a good change. No longer "missing" BGS and DWH specs when you actually hit, thank god.

    The ancient gs spec in pvp isn't over powered and is a stupid change, if you run away a few tiles you won't even be hit by the healing special. Similar to nex blood phase red turning special. With the price and rare drop rate it is dumb to change when ags/vw is still mostly used and ags hits 75+ and not even based on gear* can be speced out by a guy in lunar with str amulet 70+ lol.

    I find it funny how many people hold onto to "the old school feel" even though the game today would be unrecognizable to someone that played in 2007. Updates are good and healthy for the game, if they didn't add new things or change the tedious things, the game would've been dead on arrival. Old School isn't old school anymore, it's its own thing now.

      i think it's important to look at it not just in a black and white stance. updates are good if done right, not all updates are good. updates should still try to respect what makes oldschool oldschool. updating osrs doesn't mean we just all of sudden stop caring bout the culture of the game and what makes a big part of it so special, the feel.

    Honestly I'd like to see virus get a buff. Something to the effect of having the ancient magics damage boost apply to charge staff autos as long as you're on ancients.

    For the subset defenses that's something id figure would probably be an rs3 thing since this would also be a good point to add a strength stat for both as well. That game has a lot more freedom in these things and that game base is way more open to new shit. But if these things were a thing in osrs that'd be some interesting builds.

    I dont think stamina effects run duration like you said in the video. It is something they mentioned in the blog. Agility doesn't do anything until you stop running and tnen it only makes your energy regen faster.

    I was gutted that efaritays aid did nothing against vardovis, allow it to negate the amount of damage he would heal from his attacks to speed up kills for players with lesser gear. If you have good gear, you're still likely to be maining the bellator, ultor or lightbearer and at least efaritays aid serves a niche purpose - unless the vampire line in the morytania quests is continued then perhaps it serves a purpose there.
    and I'd love to see elder maul basically work as a raids 1 fang, let it absoutely bang in raids, with it being a megarare its certainly worth it.
    Also HARD agree on the whole of nightmare getting love, rather than just the mace, some great ideas in this video and hopefully some of them get taken on board!

    I don't really agree with keeping 0s on a successful hit. Sure you get more range as you level but with some content needing damage checks (looking at you Akkha), you still can just get whiffed by 0s because RNG can just decide to fuck you over.

    I think Slayer could really use a boss-only slayer master. Even if it has stupidly difficult requirements like sacrificing an inferno cape + quest cape + 99 slayer. The entire point would be to make slayer more competitive with grindy money-print content like Nex or raids for endgame/near-endgame players.
    I kinda regret that I skipped a lot of skills, diaries, and quests when I started focusing more on PVM. Most of the highlights in my overall journey in osrs revolve around setting my eye on unlocking a specific bit of content with OP rewards. Even though I rushed raid content in midgame, grinding the requirements to access highly rewarding content like CG/Vorkath/muspah made me feel the most accomplished. I genuinely miss feeling like there's some OP content to unlock if I only just progress my account.
    A boss-task only slayer master with near-endgame requirements would scratch that itch for a ton of players. Most of my time with slayer in endgame is spent hunting for boss tasks anyway, so its just taking my desired content and making it more consistently available.
    This would also be extremely efficient with the combat achievement diary. Players would be incentivized to visit obscure or lower level bosses (like wildy demi-bosses and deranged archiologist). Maybe its my ADHD, but I had a hell of a time motivating myself to snatch up these easy combat achievements, especially when I could accomplish most my CA goals by just challenging myself in content I already know I enjoy. The other synergy between boss slayer and CA is that CA rewards increase your boss task size limit. I think that using slayer as an excuse to clean up those random CA challenges would feel like a really satisfying grind because of it's multiple angles of progression.
    Idk. Bossing via slayer is one of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon on osrs. I just tend to raid and stuff more these days because the rewards make it more worth my time.

    About the minimum of 1 on a succesful hit, as Jagex stated, this is mostly geared towards low level players. On a succesful hit, your average damage will be increased by .5. Percentage wise, a very small increase with higher max hits. But it's pretty significant for low levels. I would loved if you focused your critique more on that.

      actually it's more than that, it's pretty significant even in end game especially with weapons like scythe, you get multiple free max hits. there's better ways to distinguish you landed without giving away free dps.

    Instead of nerfing occult, nerf shadows triple dmg but keep the accuracy. If they do nerf occult add the dmg % to prayers instead.

    I personally also think that they should REALLY get rid of the arbitrary tick-delay when auto-casting spells.
    It makes using spells in high-intensity combat like modern bosses and raids, completely unviable.

    I'm only 20 minutes in and as usual I agree with you on nearly everything and appreciate your take. However, in regards to the low level prayers and new accounts hitting too many 0's, you need to try and put yourself in the perspective of the average new player. They don't understand gear/stat progression, they don't know to rush overheads, they don't even know what those things are or if it exists in this game. Some of those low level prayers literally do nothing except drain your prayer points, that's not an exaggeration, they do not provide any benefit.
    I also recently introduced a friend to the game and although I gave him some useful tips I didn't want to take away from the new player experience. He immediately was interested in training combat but the constant 0's he was hitting lead him to genuinely believe something was wrong. I explained how to train strength, attack, and defense and what each stat did, his intuition lead him to start leveling attack to handle the awful feeling of having a difficult time killing a rat. Eventually I showed that strength levels would have a bigger impact on his accuracy, despite everything I just explained.
    My point is just that these changes do have a significant impact on a large number of players. It's not a waste of dev time to make the game feel better and work properly for new players. I'm not saying jagexs proposed changes are the BEST way to fix the issue, but they have identified a real issue.

      I know some of yall want 0s gone from an accurate roll but it's actually not a small change to your damage at all. It's actually way stronger than it sounds especially on higher end pvm items like scythe for ex. would multiply that extra damage several times for free as it rolls 3 times per hit - i unfortunately forgot to mention this on the video as there was lot to go over. It is weird to not know which 0s are hits, but im sure there's a better way to indicate this without giving out free damage, maybe different hit splat color and some way to roll less 0s on very low account stages that feels natural.

    disagree on your take with 0 roll, a benefit of this change is it gives the player a more accurate representation and feel of your accuracy. The fact you could roll 5 0's in a row and have actually passed the accuracy check on any without the player knowing it not great imo. That or give the a red 0 hit splat

    Instead of extra defensive stats for ranged and magic, just have new monsters be damaged better from certain damage styles, like how spears work at corp. There isnt a reason to overcomplicate it.

    Whats the argument against removing 0s from successful attack rolls? You say it would be nice on the spec weapons for the exact same reason it would open up the early game to be that little bit more engaging/welcoming to new players. I imagine an across the board(as opposed to just specific weapons) application would be the more sensible and less enigmatic functionality. As opposed to having to fact find for the weird function of, "even if you hit, you can miss". I don't see it having a negative impact on snowflake accounts either, but I may be underinformed on that front. No hate, just legitimately curious if there is a reason you felt that way. Good content as always!

      Is that assuming that 0s are being removed wholesale and replaced with 1s? Because that is not at all what I got from what was posted, they would be removing the 0 damage roll from an already successful hit. Given the scythe example, you still have your 0-n range for damage, but a successful outcome on damage calculation would simply be 1-n. Maybe I'm overlooking something. But it seems like it would, even in the scythe's example, be 10-15 damage in a medium length boss encounter. But that's just off the top of my head obviously, no examples as of right now. It would be interesting to see if tested in a beta world or something? They've done sillier things with the beta worlds, haha. I appreciate the response!

    The occult was never overpowered before shadow, sang with max mage was still worse than melee and ranged by far, 10% magic damage if multiplied by such low damage magic used to do is not alot, its like 3 maxhits only problem is when u multiply the occult bonus by 3 times with shadow. Feels bad for everyone who doesnt have max mage and a shadow.

    I don't think making successful hits do a guaranteed 1 minimum is anywhere near as big of a deal as you made it out to be. Jagex is right on both points. Misses and minimum hits shouldn't both be displayed as 0s.

    Nothing wrong with wanting every monster to have resists (especially when Jagex specified you'd still be able to kill them in similar manners to current day). It adds a lot more usability/diversity and would be inconsistent with anything new if they only added it to new monsters. Its also very nice to be able to see when you actually roll a hit rather than a "true 0".

      nothing wrong with that take normally, but just old content in oldschool doesn't need it. it doesnt have to be extra complicated on things where players are already accustomed to how they are already are. Oldschool has a standard of things that shouldn't be changed especially when it hasn't been a real issue that players have voiced.

    Voidwaker i would say the nerf is possibly a good thing. As is i was opposed to it coming to the game, with my previous experience pre-eoc. I am largely a PVP related player. Voidwaker spec is hard to beat as far as desirability in a spec weapon. A nerf could help bring back a bit more versatility in special weapons.
    AGS2, this weapon in pvp is huge for outlast setups. Especially paired up with a lightbearer. As well the 25 hit, upon a successful hit, is something that can easily be stacked upon with another special/hit. It's a very powerful weapon to have. That being said, you pretty much have to go for the outlast or stacking people out(simply rng dependant). Or have to risk even more to be able to use another KO weapon. It should stay as it is in my opinion. Nerfing it would just make it used less than it is.

      I disagree a bit on the VW since claws are so damn good and you don't need to bring avernic. I think VW is in a good spot since it's max hit is so much lower. if they nerf it more than 5-10% accuracy I would definitely return to claws or Ancient Godsword. I totally agree with your take on AGS2, yes it's cracked for outlast but it's not a great K0 weapon unless you also bring like a VW.

    IMO, the def changes don't belong in OSRS.
    Part of OSRS' popularity is that it is extremely easy to understand/learn the basics, while having an infinitely high skill ceiling. If I wanted to play a tedious RPG I would go play POE, WoW, or another MMO with very indepth item/skill distribution.
    On weapons. Scythe does not need to always be BIS, same goes for TBow/Shadow. This obsession with making Scythe always BIS is going to make the game really boring. Adding new BIS, does not remove how good the current items are. It's not like their stats are being lowered.

    Agility. Omg I hate gracefulscape. I've gotten 99 agility twice. RS3's near infinite run energy/resting is better than OSRS's run energy. I would rather they just remove the skill and make running infinite.

    I think the rebalancing enemy defences is needed, they're a mess, they have been for years. Most of these monsters still have defences from when the devs barely had a clue wtf they were doing. Hell I've also been wishing for them to add some more special bonuses/defences to enemies for years too, imagine something like Gargoyles taking more damage from granite weaponry, that's just cool, I don't see what's wrong with that... Or dragon weaponry doing more damage to dragons, why tf not, it's just going to give noobs some nice potential bonuses against specific enemy types that won't do enough to unbalance endgame

    I wouldnt be a fan of Jagex separating the skilling tab into groups based on effort they require as that seems a bit gimmicky, but I do think it would be good if there was a description of activities like zalcano, mlm, blast mine ect which gives a brief overview of the activity that includes its intensity. Perhaps an info box or a click to expand sort of thing on each major activity in the skill tab. While they're at it I think they should remove the level up chat pop-ups which interrupts skilling and get auto skipped when in combat, and replace them with a link in your chat that shows you what you unlocked with the level up when you click it. The way it is right now is too easy to miss, and doesn't do a good job of directing new players to the skill tab and or wiki. This could be in addition to the pop-ups actually to avoid removing something that is nostalgic, but I do think that a clickable link in the game chat would be a big improvement!

    The issue with anicent godsword in pvp is that fact that when you spec its a guaranteed 50 hp swing ( 25 heal and 25 damage ) on top of the damage you're already doing with the spec . Seeing how they address the spec attack will he interesting

      That’s literally how every pker uses it though (as a stack weapon).
      Godswords have a 6 tick attack speed, and the AGS2 Spec hits 8 ticks later, so pkers will just wait the 2 extra 2 ticks and mixup their opponent with fake switches into a bolt, voidwaker, or 2nd ags spec.

    Occult being 10% is not an issue. The occult being 10% has NEVER been an issue until the shadow came out. Nerfing the occult does nothing but hurt early game magic . Nerf the shadow that’s the issue

      Actually I think we just need a pretty sizable buff to magic and a nerf to shadow. Magic outside of shadow is so niche that it's almost exclusively used on bosses where it is the basically the only option, or for bursting.

    I really don't like the argument/point of not re balancing NPC stat weaknesses due to "how we remember killing bosses". Nostalgia is hardly a thing anymore in this game and technically only exists in graphics alone. I don't remember bofa 5/0'ing Bandos, Ancestral+Shadow camping Kree, using a Fang on Corp, or Scythe slapping bosses. The changes we've made in this game have changed how we kill these "iconic nostalgic" bosses, and should be changed accordingly if needed to keep everything balanced.

      changing them the way they described wont stop these end game items from being dominant. is why i said its no point. it makes more sense to adjust new things that has all these newer items in mind. im not entirely against it. lotsa of the old monsters arent going to become super different no matter what, rather just preserve what we already know, thats still important to oldschool.

    34:15 I could not disagree more. The skill page, like the in-game quest guide, is intentionally vague. Before we had the Wiki we just unlocked new levels or content, and engaged with them. If we didn't like it, we moved on.
    I remember being STOKED in 2005 to unlock Rune weaponry to be able to wield the battleaxe. I used it for a while until I got my Rune Scim and realized it was better than the baxe so I swapped weapons. That organic progression is integral to the MMO experience. The game guide doesn't need to tell us which content is higher/lower effort or which gear is better than others.
    Players need to be able to discover that for themselves.
    35:10 The way for them to know if Volcanic mine is good for them is to do the volcanic mine lmfao. Do it for an hour, compare exp rates, if it sucks then move on. There's WAY too much handholding in this game already

      where do you even know where volcanic mine is or the general game play other than having to google it or having to ask people. it makes no sense why you think leaving all these content pieces vague without 0 explanations in the actual game. that's like saying, let's not have tutorial island for wen a players starts rs, leave it vague.
      You remember this as a kid but we're not kids anymore and most players getting into this game isn't kids. you also misunderstand what i said, i didnt say the game guide should tell you what to do at all. it should tell you what the content is like and what it typically offers - it doesn't say do this over this silly.
      Imagine telling players to just try content for 1 hour without even knowing how it works and expect to learn how it works well enough or understand if it's good xp or gp. People need better information to make decisions on which of the multitude of content that exist now in osrs and it's stupid that the game itself doesn't even give you simple information. One of the issues of rs nowadays is that lots of content has to be looked up online to even approach it which is bad.

    I think with a skilling description would be nice for new players. ALTHOUGH, I feel like a lot of tic manipulation and other methods are found because players go there there not knowing if its afk, or high intensive. They just figure out new ways of training.

      yes but honestly the tick stuff is such a small niche of players, i mean this is for more general players, you dont have to do tick manip stuff to do most content, the xp range is still worth it for activities that are naturally higher xp like volcanic mine no tick manip needed. Just many don't know what is low effort/ high xp etc

    The least based thing in the entire video is the bit about run energy.
    Run energy management has been an issue no matter what agility level you are. It needs fixing.
    Even if you don't personally think so, it shows that people vastly prefer being actually able to properly play to game over chugging stams all day.
    Look at leagues! How many people roasted eachother for not picking the run relic in the first one.
    They literally made every league after have infinite run energy for a reason. Because guess what? It's fun to not be asthmatic, regardless of your agility level.

    Conceptionally the soul reaper axe should just be more damage deal for more damage taken. At least that's what it seemed like Jagex was trying to do.
    Instead they made an absurdly niche item which is unrewarding to use.
    I suggest they just make it so when you use the soul reaper axe you just take more damage, like 10-15% or something, instead of the charge mechanic.
    Sort of like when you use that new prayers in leagues. Those prayers feel dangerous enough to use it for their power, but it's at least more consistent.
    This weird "charge" mechanic is punishing to use but all for the wrong reason;
    It's punishing because it's a nuisance to use it, not because it's "high risk high reward"
    It doesn't allow you to change in to other weapons like special attack weapons at all, which is stupid imo.
    And if that was the point, (to not be able to use special attack weapons), first of all... why?
    And second of all; You could have just drained the special attack bar or something while you equip it, instead of this weird ass yanky charge thing.

    Slayer needs a rework. Profits from slayer really don’t start until like 85+ .. often with supplies you’re losing money. I think a 10% increase in slayer xp per monster would also be a plus. Without skipping and barraging it’s like 16k-22k xp per hour for low levels. Mining just sucks all around.

    so after they do these changes and add a new skill, then the only thing that would even be left of OLD SCHOOL runescape would be the graphics? whats the point of all of this? sure theres small balancing problems, but how many games have perfectly balanced combats? theres easy fixes to most of these issues, but they are just making a huge deal where theres only a small issue. for the defence thing, all they would have to do is give future content specific weaknesses to certain elemental magics or specific range ammo types. same with adding a new skill, theres no point. yea, some people feel like the games becoming stale after so long, but that happens for every other game too. they could easily make sailing into a minigame or even a player owned port thing like rs3 has. but instead theyre using new content as an excuse to force new skills and major "balancing" changes into an old game that doesnt really need it.

    To be fair im not a fan of the RS3 based defence system. We wanted 07 for the oldschool combat system and no specific defences on certain magic attackstyles or ranged for that mather. Imagine wind surging with an air mystic staff because ur shadow you grinded ur ass off will do less damage and have a lower basic hit chance. Like keep that in RS3 please.

      @@RiceCup well in rs3 for example the adamant dragon has a weakness for air spells, basic hit chance of 90 rest of the magic attacks a basic hit chance of 65. I doubt they only impact hit chance, it impacts max dps aswell imo. And more room for mid tier pvm ain’t really necessary tbf, lots of different bows and crossbows on the road to a tbow, same with staff’s going from ibans to warped,trident etc. Yea from a main perspective where u can buy anything u could argue that because most mid table gear is cheaper and close to each other price wise compared to endgame. But us irons need to walk every item of those paths available. But thats also gonna do things to the economy we’ve never seen happen before in OSRS.

      well i think you're relating it too closely to rs3. they're not guna fundamentally change how stats work in osrs, its just additional defensive stats, so no it wouldn't just give weapons more max hits. it's mainly working on accuracy alone and using that to create more niches for mid level stuff. so, if you're worried about it being close to rs3 style, it wouldnt, eoc completely changed how stats work on rs, but this isn't that@@drxsio1565

    Lol bro your thinking in your high end lvl bubble, jagex has more data on where players are really at with their accounts, there not thinking of us the end game players there thinking of the younger generation, change needs to happen. Why do you think eoc happened. This is kinda eco but not as dramatic.

      I mean… osrs ain’t closing down tomorrow .. and the whole point to be able to add new weapons and bosses so the game the stall out … I like it
