    17:53 Lessons learned finally begins.
    1) Shoot further if going in steep terrain. 475-500 yards
    2) Gross terrain provides less pressure.
    3) Micro Spikes, bring them.
    4) Take a picture, drop a pin.
    5) Run the ridge that your on to avoid blowing up the other side.
    6) Learn an area one year, hunt the next quality habitat will always hold Bear.
    7) Pack appropriate amount of calories
    8) Camera Gear should be chosen carefully, you get a gold medal just for participation! 😅

Gritty, you’re the best. I take notes on your content.🫣 No notepad meant notes in comments so I could grab it later. I look forward to your content. I edited my notes a bit more below.

There is a hunting Chanel out there I used to really enjoy and I don’t watch it nearly as often because I feel like it is just about the gear (like it’s a sales add almost). That’s one thing I truly appreciate about this Chanel. It’s down to earth, talk reality and it’s a great story line about the hunt. You guys are truly inspirational and entertaining. Podcast also are awesome and touch on life which relates and I appreciate. Love the podcast and the videos. Keep up the great work. All of you make an awesome team.

My big lesson learned last year was look below you before glassing the opposite ridge, because a big cinnamon color phase bear may be staring at you from less than 100yds away lol.

I’ve been enjoying the content you guys create for the last 3-4 years. Some of the best out there. I was able to go on my first back country western hunt last year coming from Kentucky. It was an awesome experience, and I’m looking forward to going again this year. I purchased “the” shirt from Peax and would be very grateful to have a chance to win the giveaway. Thanks again guys. Keep up the great work. It gives the guys traveling 20+ hours out west some great knowledge.

Good info, lots of laughs. It doesn’t surprise me that Ryan isn’t a hand holder when it comes to packing someone else’s food, it’s like a test of a person’s experience and to see what a person is made of. It’s a good way to learn, I think most people learn better by fire than being told.

Getting me all amped for April 15th to get here. We've got a ton of snow in Idaho so it's going to be interesting finding the bears. Looking forward to see what your season adventures bring. Thanks guys.

32 Oz of H20 with a little bit of NaCl, then the bowel movement, caffeine and then food. Gritty recipe for success :). What time of the month were you guys out at last year and with the amount of snow this year what are you shooting for?

The true grit and flavor of a good outdoor film for me isnt the kill but instead is the misery that accompanies a great adventure. I come from being a lifelong mountaineer and a hunter with a equal love affair for both but the kill on film doesn't resonate as much as the misery and story of the adventure.

On steep terrain do you use a cant lever ? On a 40 degrees angle it modified the distance isn't it ?

At minute 14- I bet the posers were the BRCC crew. If that’s not who Brian was referencing, they still fit the description. I stopped watching their series after the second episode. It’s boring and they come off as amateurs (specific to hunting).
As long as you keep making Gritty films and stay true to the values you’ve had to this point, I’ll keep watching!!

I hate to name names. But you get it. We’ve all come across hunting content that feels “off.” We smell bullshit pretty quickly. You won’t see us change-we be who we are. Thanks for stickin’ with us!

You watch some of these other hunting shows and there way to FAKE!!
Like you said, clean clothes, always the perfect shot, all the brand new camo, always match, all 6 people have the same camo color and brand on, give me a break!
Thanks for calling out the posers!

The point is taken, but if I sponsored a hunting channel as a clothing company, then I would expect everyone to wear it and I would expect it to be in excellent condition.

@@phild9813 - I believe in partnering with other people and hunting companies. And I believe in showcasing great gear. I am turned off by contrived hunt scenarios masquerading as “real events.” Human beings are very good at detecting inauthentic behavior-it’s a feeling. And in my opinion, outdoor filmmakers would do well to embrace realness above all other aspects of filmmaking.

    • @phild9813
      @phild9813 Рік тому

I don’t disagree with what you’re saying at all. I’d just like to add some nuance that I think the original commenter lacked by apparently generalizing anyone who has clean clothes or makes good shots. There must be nuances to criticism, or it’s just complaining, jealousy, etc. Again, I agree with you, and absolutely hate when I get that icky feeling while watching a hunting video.
