Jojo's is one of my all-time favorite series' and as someone who watched and finished the anime adaptation I can say it turned out to be incredible! The only downside is that Stone Ocean is a Netflix exclusive, and Netflix not only took a really long time to release each batch of episodes, but they also didn't market this part of the anime that much, which is why it slipped some people's radars and it didn't get talked about as much as it could have been had new episodes been released weekly like the anime adaptations of the previous Jojo parts were and had it been marketed better.
Aww man Netflix jail sucks. I feel like the same thing happened with the Shaman King remake
So much anime I really need to see! BUT I at least recognized most of the nominees. As far as the picks go, I feel that they went between very easy and nerve-wracking! As far as Bocci goes, if Crunchyroll goes by an Oscar style timetable, you might see it next year! And on that note, I'm going to go out on a limb and make a big brain prediction here. Next year's nominations will be an absolute slugfest between Chainsaw Man and Akiba Maid War. Love the video, and can't wait for the winner react video!
Yea, tbh I'm totally cool with if they keep the Fall 2022 anime on the roster cause I feel like it's less confusing that way ;-;
None of the Fall 2022 anime was eligible this year because by the time they're doing nominations many of them haven't finished airing, and I guess maybe to help stave off a little bit of the recency bias? They're going to be in the pool for next year's instead and this is how they're going to structure the awards going forward.
It does kinda suck for stuff like Do It Yourself!! or Encouragement of Climb that was already going to struggle to even get considered for nomination for anything but now have to contend with being a year old too, but I am interested to see if Chainsaw Man will still be as dominant a year out as we all know it would have been this year.
Also, I agree that if Bocchi gets overlooked next year we riot.
Man, I wish they'd still put them in because I feel by next year a lot of people will forget about them. :(
I had the most FUN disagreeing with most of your picks! This is what makes a person realize how much personal preference varies. I do appreciate how you and Grave explained your 'why' rationale.
Haha we truly are just sick of Demon Slayer and AOT but at least Kongming got its fair share of nominations to make up for it
