More "features" does not make a machine good. I used to be a Vacuum tech, and you cannot in 95% of the cases repair a Shark because replacement parts aren't made, they are throw away machines and you will see them on the curb every garbage day. I have always disliked Dyson because they are expensive and typically over-engineered, however, Dyson sells parts, has a repair network and although they don't quite compare to a SEBO or Miele they are decent machines, and had many pass through the shop that were old and simply needed a clutch or a switch and a good cleaning. Because I have ZERO brand loyalty, I just bought a Dyson Ball 3 because its the first Dyson that impressed me, made of sturdy, well molded materials and I am absolutely blown away by it's cleaning performance. I looked at every Shark, Hoover and other department store machines, and they are horribly cheaply made, even worse than they were 8 years ago when I was a vac repairman. DO NOT buy a Shark unless you are fine with replacing it in 3 years, if you want a shark for some reason, buy a cheap one.
I have a Shark Apex and it doesn't do well with dog hair I have a Shiba Inu. What happens is after a while it starts to roll the hair into balls and spit it back out resulting in mutiple passes, what you have to is open the top cover of the head and than remove the front soft brush roll and below it you'll find a row of combs, all the pet hair gets stuck on it and piles up with chunks eventually breaking off and the vacuum rolls it up and spits back out very annoying. And also if your Shark ever breaks you just have to throw it out because shark doesn't make replacement parts, bad for the environment and expensive.
Why didn't you do a better comparison of which one picks up better or a suction test??

Mine has lasted 5 years with zero problems and it feels anything but cheap. It's the same but old shark apex duo clean.

Clearly says Dyson does a better job at cleaning
Out of these two the Shark Apex is better.
They’re both expensive as hell though.
