- A tutorial on how to set the dual rate and the expo on an rc airplane or helicopter. We use the Spektrum DX6i rc airplane remote for this tutorial. When you are setting up any new helicopter or airplane you will need to get the dual rate and expo all setup for your remote control.
I just got my DX6I i'm evolving from toy grade planes to hobby grade. I learned so much from your videos. I have a DX4I beginner radio this is a great step up into newer technologies for flying the more sophisticated RC airplanes Thanks!!!!

Same thoughts as many others. So much easier than the manual. Was getting a headache trying to figure it out, now I am ready to fly in the morning. Will be first time with new dx6i. I am hoping the quality is better than the dx5 as I have gone thru 3 of them in 3 years.

I just set mine up, great tutorial man.
Now I can attempt my second flight. FU 1A Corsair. She's a fast plane with not much room for error. I didn't have any low rate settings so it was touchy and I got lucky.
This should smooth things out for me now.

Thanks for your demonstration. As a new pilot I have questioned demos regarding the setup of D/R and Expo because I cannot seem to separate the individual D/R switches. If I switch Aileron D/R form 0 to 1, ALL D/R choices change simultaneously. Still, this makes it better as a mode switch. Is this Normal?
Is the purpose of setting rates and expo to make the plane easy to control? I'm a beginner but fast learner. Thanks for your help.

good vid but confused when you were applying expo to soften the control throws on the radio's Lcd it was showing positive expo ie + which would make it more sensitive, surely you should have gone the other way to show minus -

Thank you very much for your great helpful video`s! I have the UMX Pitts S-1S. Its a micro plane. The manual only shows the settings for duel rate, There is no settings for the expo? What would I set them at? Or should I just leave them alone. This is my first bind and fly plane. My other 3 are RTF. The settings for high rate is all 100, and for low rate they are all 70 according to the manual. Thanks again!

Just browsing and watched you video on dual rates and expo. I have a early 2000 hangar 9 p 51 d that flew on the old fm radios and have the dx 6i. My question is, how to set dual rates and expo on a plane that as far as i know, had no instructions on this since the transmitters did not have the functions? Any ideas ? Thanks.

please tell me how to set up dual Elevon on my new Graupner Epic Victory S, as it is a "T" tail, and has a servo for each side. A "Y" harness wont work? So I have one servo plugged into the Elev connector, and the other servo is plugged into the Aux, as the Gear connector is running my retracts. Many thanks for your help with this problem. Ray
Just received this transmitter and noticed that you cant use as3x and safe, as a newer pilot, would you recommend low rates for 3d plane? Also i have noticed that everytime i have to bind to receiver to get plane to respond to transmitter any advice?

How can I get the Dual Rates on one particular switch? So that, If I would like to do some pattern flying where I need more deflection of the control surfaces, I do not have to pul three switches, but just one?

I have dx6i I have Stryker f27q. Got it set where my elevator n rudder go in correct direction but my ailerons are opposite. Can't figure out how to get them to go correct without it making my ele n rudder reverse. Thanks

I just got a Spektrum DX6i Transmitter, the problem is when I place my A10 thunderbolt in landing gear up position, I have very little elevator. When I place landing gear in down position I have more elevator control. How can I get more elevator control while gear is in the up position.

Great tutorial! That made it real easy. I have a Great Planes Sportster EP. Will this setup about the same? it was an older kit, with a brushed motor. Upgrade it with an eflite 25 and lipo of battery setup.

Hi....I have an elite p51d mustang 280...and their expo/dr settings are in mm format...I'm lost...my aileron dual rate is 10mm with a triangle facing up....please explain how to set up on dx6i...lol...noob here

thank god planes are dead easy to set up than helies it will take me a year to program as trex 700Nitro helies while planes are simple set the throtel and rudders just soooo simple than a helie
