Remember to bind a TX to a models RX ,You need to bind at least 2 times to achieve correct fail safe-
1 / To link TX to RX to center servos for linkage connection and then to initiate a guesstemet of where trims should be for loss of signal and control.
2/ To attain under real flying conditions the correct amount of trim to attain a gentle turn with slow descent - Find this for your model and get it bound in.
This should be a major part of anyone's maiden flight!
Love the video, we need more radio setup/settings videos like this.... outstanding!!!
Thank you very much i had trouble until i watched this thank you once again
MODEL AT BUILD!
So you have set throttle at bind correctly and all throws are correct. Now Center servos and set linkages to throws and mechanically set to a neutral position for flight (all trims set at 0)
Before you now fly set by using your trims the rudder and elevator positions so giving a little up elevator and a GENTLE right or left rudder position. Now your ailerons are set dead neutral (you don''t want any turns using aileron on fail safe!) .
Ok so you have now bound your TX AND RX together so they communicate then you check that all servos are orientated correctly otherwise reverse them, hopefully your throttle was correct first time because if you have to reverse it then you need to rebind! Failure to do this results in the prop spinning up on fail safe not what you want. Many People think that a fail safe installed into good RX consists of just throttle cut! Fail safe also uses last position of all throws at binding! Very important.
Set trims back to normal flight and land her.
Once on the ground set your trims back to the fail safe positions you just had.
Set throttle to down (off with its trim backed off as far as it will go),ensure Ailerons are in neutral and RE BIND.
Check new bind by putting trims back to your neutral flying position and switching off your
radio, your new fail safe trim settings should instantly be applied at signal lose.
You now have a chance to recover the model intact!
You have now correctly bound
Thank you very much
Thank you.........😊
Thanks 😊
In fail safe the model will do one of two things-Hit an obstacle (tree-building-person) or the Ground.
It makes sense to have your model gliding as slowly down as poss + it also makes sense to keep the wings as level as you can while it turns so that when it hits ground its not on a wing tip but levelish.
Also if it happens at height you have time to run in the models direction whilst the model is turning back to you to regain a TX RX lock.
PROBABLY HAVE TO READ MY POSTS IN REVERSE,Sorry.
You might want to try pulling the throttle trim as far down as it can go, wait for some sort of beep, and then bring it back up
Thank you SOOOO much!!
Shut down throttle and watch her hopefully settle and descend in a gentle turn? YOU DO NOT WANT A TIGHT TURN! It will end up in a crash!
Play around with your elevator and rudder trims till you achieve a turn that keeps the wings almost level with a nice slow descent.
Remember if you power up to gain back height your trims are now set for fail safe and not normal flight so easy on the power.
Get her back up and throttle down again until your happy with your descent.
Note your trim settings!
Now back to throttle-put in down (off) position and set its trim as low as it will go.
Now with all trims set in these positions RE-BIND very important!
To check you have done this correctly set all trims back to 0 neutral position and then switch off TX,your trims should get a little up elevator,a little R or L rudder and complete shutdown of the throttle! This is a TEMPORARY FIRST TIME MAIDEN FAIL SAFE SETTING! The idea is to settle the model into a gentle turn while keeping a good glide path
nice video.
thanks
my radio came with a binding plug.
do I need to use that to bind to a Blade 300X BNF?
Think about it your flying level you lose signal and it just goes straight on,your slightly nose heavy and she starts to pitch down gathering speed = Crash. That's what would probably happen just relying on throttle cut?
Too tight a turn the models arc decreases tipping the wing,Rudder swaps with Elevator and your in a death spin =Crash.
Nice gentle turn +shallow glide = The model will come back with enough height into TX range = Gain control. THAT"S GOOOOOOD!
You go out of RX range
Good morning when I try to adjust my swash mix on my transmitter all I see on the monitor is in Hibbett what have I done wrong ?
Thanks in advance .
Of course you have initially guessed what this is,you still don't know how it will fly on these settings you've chosen yet?!
Now go fly her.
Ok its an ideal world and your set up fly's great neither nose or tail heavy. If not land her and adjust what needs adjusting.Your aim is to be flying with your trims at 0 (middle)position or close.
Now take her up again - all's good Great.
Fly her high and slow her down, add in using your trim some elevator (say from 0 - 16)
and some Rudder again( 0-16).

Can you also bind planes that don't have that red light? For example the FunCub?
Did you not need a bind plug to bind the DX6i to the plane?
Hi everyone, i am new to rc flying, i have a spektrum dx6i transmitter, now i was thinking of buying a Ripmax wot 4 foam-e mk2 without transmitter, how do i link rc plane receiver in the plane to link up with transmitter? does it do it automatic or do i need to press a few buttons lol thanks guys
I have a Dx5e and i bought an ultra micro spitfire, do i need to buy anything else to bind my transmitter to my plane? (like that little plug thing?)
please answer
thanks
Why did you not show putting bind plug in,looked on comment, but you don’t seem to reply to anything
This is not working on my Timberlake send it as a spectrum receiver😢
so say my spektrum radio can bind to any 2.4 plane or heli no matter the manfacture?
Can any receivers work to bind to this radio?
Does anybody know how to bind a Blade 360 CFX because I am fairly experienced pilot, I have DX6i however I do not see any videos on how to bind it
Help!
It bound but nothing works.
What if you dont have a bind switch kn your remote
what plane it is?
I thought there 10 specific models but not thank you so much
i didnt find the bind button where is it?
Please on mx 12
