#RogerWaters
I bought this album back when I was 10 years old and I'm 60 now.
I've probably listened to the dark side of the moon 5000 times over the last 50 years and never get sick of it.
It's just one of those things you never get tired of.
Animals, wish you were here and the wall
nearly as much, probably 3000 times
Thank you, Roger.
You should be proud 50 years awesome.
Unlike the official musics firm that now owns "Pink Floyd" who released a insanely overpriced box set to simply make profit Roger actually takes the effort to reimagine the Album for its Anniversary. Who cares if it ends up being a shadow of its former glory like many haters say he still took the effort to deliver something new a true homage to the 50th Anniversary.
Good point. ❤
Something to remember him by before he’s cancelled.
Very true . Thank the lord for roger waters
Unfortunately Dave Gilmour is a pale shadow of who he used to be. Thanks, Polly!
He rewrote it to cut out David’s parts is all
"And the worms, ate into my brain".
-RW
His brain
Worms are anti Semitic in his case
He's got 50yrs of life lessons and wisdom under his belt .so I can see why he's revisiting this classic
Your description is the perfect synopsis. People who are ragging and whining about it are:
1. Not willing to be open-minded.
2. Diehard DG fans.
3. Dislike Roger's politics
4. Non imaginative black and white, non artistic, cut and dry personalities.
Michael Gira of Swans has 40 years of life lessons and wisdom under his belt. You know what he decided to do? He cared not about living past glories but to try and reach new highs, and he succeeded. Swans albums The Seer, To Be Kind and The Glowing Man are celebrated noise rock masterpieces, one of the best run of albums in the 2010s, and catapulted Swans into new heights of critical acclaim and commercial success.
Roger picked up an album he worked on 50 years ago, took out the guitar and sax solos out, slowed it down to morose levels and made a bad Tom Waits impression. And I was hoping he would improve on what made Is This The Life We Really Want? good, but alas.
Especially since it's his own masterpiece, played by Pink Floyd.
"Waters gave credits to Gilmour despites the fact he didn't contribute much to that part of the creative process."
@HugoRBMarques who cares? I certainly don't. The man remains the creative genius nonetheless; all haters can kick rocks. 😊
The specials done a 40 year revamped version of their album = it's wonderful = 40 years if life later 💥
Its like going home again after years and the poetry is how the man has growen on the journey, and how he feels of all his yesterdays
Thanks for being genuine and honest with all that's going on in the world and to open people's eyes . God bless you 🙏 ❤️
Short answer: MONEY
its a gas
Love the original,
Love this too,
Thank you Roger for everything through all the years, keep ‘em coming.
All the best.
As much as I appreciate the 50th anniversary, if it ain't broke don't fix it. 😉
Even if it's yours?
@@GeorgeMaslen
Yessir 😀
He hasn't 'fixed it' he has reimagined it and its a really good listen.

👍
No thanks Rog
Roger, I beg of you, do a Radio KAOS redux. I would LOVE to see what you originally had in mind for the album.
That’s my favourite RW solo album. Would love to hear a new take on it.
Same .I also love "final cut."
He’s not fixing it. He’s just done a new take on it. No harm done
Underrated album. I love Radio Kaos.
@@andyjackson2901 It would benefit from a 5.1 mix as well.
Shouldn't mess with perfection .
It’s the artist’s prerogative.
It is totally amazing!
Greetings from Africa. I'm also proud of hearing you since the seventys. Love all your work, thanks
I didn't know Leonard Cohen was part of Pink Floyd
Cohen was way cooler looking
I thought the exact thing when I heard the Redux of Time. Total impersonation.
Yep, exactly.
He's lost his mind (for the 17,000th time).
To think, once we were more worried about Syd's mental health than Roger's.
What were we thinking?
Maybe "Brain Damage"
J.L.Borges claimed that "Don Quijote" written today, verbatim the same as the one published in the 16th, would be a completely different book. The same goes for any work of art. It is the context that gives the meaning to it. You did well, maestro
This record didn't need anything.
It's not that record. It's a reimagining of that record considering all the time and experiences in that 50 year timespan since.
Now go watch the wizard of oz and chill out.
Okay, dont buy it. Peace ✌️
Re-recording the record doesn’t mean it needed something. It’s just a new take on it, because it’s how Roger would’ve done it at the time, if he wasn’t part of Pink Floyd. It’s his original intention. Original conception.
That doesn’t mean the original was somehow “needing something”. It surely doesn’t.
he wants more money and has no new songs
people misunderstand it. This re-make is not about correct the original one and make it better. It is literally a re-imagining as Mr. Waters just said. An other vision of the concept. Thats it. Do not try to compare the both
he just wants to be right even if it means remaking all of Floyds more significant music. he has to put his stamp or he will never be satisfied. his ego and hubris are such.
Sir Roger waters un gran maestro
Be quiet he hasn’t been and never will be knighted and that’s a FACT
@@CricketEngland Wind your neck in boy.
@@CricketEnglandhe doesn't want, he doesn't need and THAT'S a FACT!
The greatest RW 🙏🏼
Much Love from SYRIA 🤍🤍🤍
Dude can do whatever he wants, I know which DSOTM I'll be listening to until I die. It won't be his 'redux'.
I became a fan and almost not a day without your music
Thanks for all dear Rog!
Amazing masterpiece, 10/10
Shine on, Roger!
Ay ay , captain!
I just don't understand all these critics who are slamming the Redux - it's not even out yet and they're saying things like, "DARK SIDE OF THE MOON is ruined!"
It's not ruined, you fools, it's a fantastic reimagining of a familiar brand! I've lost count of all the times I watched the lyrics video of "Money", I think think Roger and his band did a PHENOMENAL JOB. So there.
Those are sheep !
@@HM-2011 yea they are seated in their high fat thrones, saying "that's ba-a-a-a-d"
@@erinwhistle the issue is that they claim they are PF fans, but, did they ever understand what were those guys singing about ?
I'd rather listen to "The Dub Side of the Moon".
Narrow minds arguing the Original is better...haters are going to hate..
Yes! ❤
Thank you, Roger
Old Roger singing songs of death and time he wrote as a young man only ads to the myth of DSOTM. A few decades from now we will acknowledge how iconic this is
"The memories of a man in his old age are the deeds of a man and in his prime." -RW
con questa rivisitazione Waters chiude il cerchio, regalandoci un opera magistrale.
Roger, sei nel mio cuore
👍
Beautifully & poetically said word's from RW..
What a voice that man has,
He's always been gorgeous looking too,,
With such caring- heartfelt concerns for Our world.
& does his best to help create change for the better..
if anybody wants to lets him know so he can come and sing to me anytime lolol!! What an angel!😮
Hello dear Roger Waters, a fan of your music from Russia writes to you, my father gave me to listen to the dark side of the moon as a one-year-old in 1985 😁 the flight is complete 👍 recently I saw your interview about Russia, Ukraine China and the activities of the USA. I was pleasantly surprised by your position, the way you talk about this, I already thought there were no sane people left in the West... I am also sick of what is happening between states and people, constant wars, the division of money, territories and resources... Instead of uniting and moving into the future to comprehend our planet and the universe, we are marking time... Thank you very much for trying to convey the truth to people. I wish you good health! Long life! Good luck and strength in your difficult business! From Russia with love your fan Jan
His Aggressive nature is only matched by his passive aggression. Button your lip, Roger, and don’t let your human shield slip
TDSOTM is a dream and dreams do not get old, Roger.
READY TO HEAR THIS❤️🔥
Congratulations Rodger. Can't wait for my copy of the Redux. I'm sure it will be great. ✌️☮️ Peace to you and your team
who is Rodger ?
Can´t wait for Redux and The Sound of Freedom
People have to listen to it before they can form a view; goes without saying really. Most won’t I’d bet. I’ve been a fan since my neighbor came home from college and turned us youngsters on to Ummagumma. Thanks for all the wonderful music Roger.
I've listened and didn't enjoy it, but that's OK, right?
@@johnsmith7140 Of course, we are all individuals with our own unique perspectives and tastes.
That wonderful music was the compilation of talented musicians and songwriters and producers working together to create something very pleasing and unique. I take issue with the praising of Roger as the lone contributor or genius... if that's the case, explain his seven solo albums... or better yet, name 4 of them without looking it up.
I could have loved it if there was another drums sound : it sound like a boring bad drum machine
Congratulations to you and this wonderful team! This was a very incredibly sensitive job...
I know we’re only hearing a short clip from eclipse but it sounds good. My mother thinks it’s going to be shit but like roger says we can’t really form an opinion on it until we have heard it
Nothing he does is going to be shit. Obviously.
You´re mother doesn´t understand the lyrics?
@@joerenner8334Even he disagrees with that.
@@johnsmith7140 He has a much higher bar.
Sick man
Wonderful ❤️
A man who makes covers of himself
Time flies.
The great gig in the sky 🎉. The lunatic is in my head. I am waiting for you at Engenhão Stadium, Rio, Brazil. 🎺
I love what I've heard so far
Felicidades Roger Waters ... 💎
I can't wait to get my copy! I've already ordered it, and have my own countdown going. The Money redux is brilliant, but then, there's nothing in your music/lyrics that doesn't resonate within me. I'm so grateful to you for finding all of the words I couldn't find. I know it sounds strange, and that's probably because I'm strange to my core - unapologetically so.
I think David,Rick and Nick deserve way more credit than you give them,Roger. They made your little bits of poetry and chord structure into timeless masterpieces.Without them,do you think you'd be where you are ,today? Ha,Ha, Charade you are!
Too true! I can agree that his concept is good but the album should be its own thing and not a shadow of the greatest album of his career
Yep 👍, the fact he titled it Roger waters DSOTM shows the hubris and ego, classic album, one of the best albums in the history of music (some say thee best) turned into a pile of dog shit because you have no new ideas, Did you notice all the tracks are titled Roger waters except for great gig 😂 something to do with a big court case maybe
Total garbage, he's overinflated to say the least!
"Money. Get back. Think I'll re-record some of my old tracks."
True, but everything Pink Floyd did after Roger left was poor by comparison to the stuff they did with Roger as writer.
I'm excited to hear this!
"I've been Roger by the way"
beautiful my thoughts
The album was the number 1 album for many, many, many years on the Billboard 100.
It wasn't number 1 all that time. But it stayed in the top 100 forever. It's still selling.
Thanks for the epistle. Blessing and Peace be with you Mr. Waters~
Totally agree!!
I listened to it a month or so ago and thought it was definitely an interesting listen!
Awesome🎉
GENIO!!!!!
I am proud of it too
I love it
of course after 50 years with all the changes which have happened in the world, we need a reimagination of TDSOTM. the massage is far more clear now
Yes, it's all about the massage of Rodger Waters gigantic ego.
@@matthewatwood8641 You must be david f'ing gilmore in disguise, aren't ya? I totally disagree with all your bs. Roger remains the sole creative genious of Pink Floyd. Case closed! Don't bother responding either, you have been blocked, AH!
Wow, some guy said he blocked me because of what I said about Roger Waters. Truth hurts, I guess.
@@babatundeashiru9590 Seriously? 😆😆😆
Grow up
I love the original album, but I was also gripped by sqthe new versions of these iconic songs...
To me, they can easily coexist side by side 😎👍
I certainly am interested, but couldn't order from the Netherlands - even though the shop is in Spain, so supposedly no EU-related malarkey 🤣 But I'll try again.
Also I was quite put off by Pink Floyd's 50th anniversary rerelease, more specifically their prices! And since I can't tell who's behind the PF shop (none of the original members as far as I can see), Roger's reimagining seems the best option to celebrate the anniversary of that phenomenal record...
and we are very proud of you Roger ❤️
✌️🥰 Roger 👏
I can’t wait !!!😍
Please release the rest of the KAOS tracks. Thank you
Phish has done it, Flaming Lips did it, Some reggae guys got together and did it, bluegrassers have done it, remaking DSOTM is a time-honored tradition now.
Seeing Roger do it is a "well, it's about damn time" moment.
I would agree with you if Pink Floyd had done it, but not when it's Rodger Waters doing it himself & making it all about him.
@@matthewatwood8641 He wrote it.
It's a new take on an old favorite that I grew up with. I love the new perspective. I'll treasure both issues, yesterday and today. 😊
a self portrait of him as he is now
MILK THE COW AS MUCH AS YOU CAN......LOLOLOL
I like it Roger. It's beautifully orchestrated. It's just a different piece of Art, than the original; and you're conceptually entitled, to experiment with it. I mean you guys were sonically experimental, from the beginning.... Rock On.. Roger.
50 years it’s time
this new Eclipse sounds a bit like echoes
Looking forward to listening to it love love the original, I’m sure this will be amazing to
Love Roger ❤️
Super cool, love everything. I've heard so far can't wait.❤😂🎉
Classic .
It was amazing. Poetic master 👏
Team straordinario 👏👏👏
It's even more fantastic: all the poetry that inspired the first version now becomes a river of emotion. This is you Roger Waters, a dreamer poet who takes us by the hand and guides us in his dreams and in his art. Blessed madness of passion and courage ❤️🔥✨
That sound amazing Roger
Waters is on his never ending ego trip. Dsotm did not need a redux.
You need a progressive spirit to understand that.
The redux isn’t about the DSOTM of 73, it’s about life, experiences and stories from an 80 years old man
Wow @fluff!! You know nothing abt Roger Waters. He doesn't work from his ego. He works for global peace & love. Take a lesson, please.✌🏼
Gracias x El Conciertaso en Ecuador
Might be the greatest record ever recorded,I know at the end of my life I want to be buried with it,no gold no money just vinyl
Когда то давно отец меня познакомил с вашей музыкой. Обратная сторона луны стала моей любимой пластинкой, до сих пор вдохновляет. Жаль что отец не сможет услышать переиздание, его не стало в прошлом году.
Roger: you need to listen the original one more time. And, please, pay attention to the music!
Ему не нужно ни чего слушать раз он и создал ее.
Wonderfull musician...Roger.
I ❤ you man
I was nervous about this record, but after giving it five or six spins, I believe that it is a worthy reimagining. It stands alone. Well done, Roger!
This is in my top 2 vinyls I play. 2nd is the lockdown sessions.
I love Roger's imagination and the insight of how a creative mind works.
"How much are you giving away..... Errrhh, none! " 😂
Awesome
"Buy my stuff..."
I’m with Roger Waters !!!
It’s Fully ,His Music & Lyrics & Publishing Rights & Royalties !!!
In the end or its beginning , there
would be no “ Darkside of the Moon “ !!
Dark Side gave me the will to live and it means so much to me and my life since I first heard it.
I’ve seen you each time you have come to perform in Australia and I would love to see and hear your reimagining of that iconic recording.
Come back to Australia when you can and I will be there if I can.
Best wishes mate 👍
fuck it man, lets buy it:-)))
Of course it won't be better than the original. Simply because the original is universally acclaimed as one of the best (if not the best) albums of all time. It's going to be a different one. Some will like it, some won't.
Sounds like a much more chilled out version, ideal for lying in the dark to listen to on some damn good headphones. A redux version of KAOS or Pros and Cons would be good, concentrating on an expanded narrative element set to adapted music.
It's more relevant than ever. We are never closer to the Dark Side of the Moon. The struggle with its darkest forces is at play here. 🌠 🌑🌌🙏🌎🌕
I want to hear.. and I know that I'll love it ❤
Waiting for the new moon !!!!🌸
Roger Waters quiet, it is poet.
Thank you and keep up the great creativity work 👍👍👍
