    I just built the forks for my bike using this kit.
    And I had just one question for you.
    I know it has been a little while since you have done this, but did you have any discrepancies in you're exposed to blank while uncompressed before installing onto the bike. When I got done building my forks using their 1.8 in standard spacer length,. I noticed that the exposed portion of to was 15 inches on one and right around 14 3/4 inches on the other...

      Hi David, yes, it has been a while since fitted these.. In all honesty I cant remember seeing any difference, although under no load, this would probably be normal as the strut would be on loaded vs the spring on opposite side until weight and preload set.. just my thought..
      What I will add is make sure you play around with preload to match rear somewhat, as does make a difference in cornering... so dont have rears soft and front loaded if you know what I mean, find the balance 👍

    Hello.
    Thanks for this.
    Not being mechanically minded I am taking my Sporty 883L to a work shop to get Progressive catridges added.
    Do you have a link or Progressive product code or address I can look it up?
    I can only find them for bigger Harleys.
    My sporty is a Low 883.
    Thank you

      Hi, I think they only did the adjustable preload version for the 49mm front end for dyna/sportster. But you can get the standard monoshock for 883/iron or 43mm forks from most suppliers. From U.K usually AR Harley parts or Hogparts stock. To be fair, these would be a great upgrade without the adjuster as I hardly adjust mine still after being fitted for a few years now 👍

    How many ml of fluid do you use in each leg? My instructions say 250cc in one side (250ml?) And 195mm which doesn't make sense to me? Also, is the one with the preload adujuster on the primary or cam chest side of the bike?

    • @ALCHEMOTO
      @ALCHEMOTO  3 роки тому

      sorry for late reply. yes, it doesnt make sense, but the amount of oil is only for lubrication of the lower parts of assembly. the adjuster is on primary side, which should be on the instruction, also there is the preload adjuster which you have to cut

    Do you have to take the whole fork apart to install the drop ins?
    I saw another video we’re they moved the handle bars removed to top fork bolts and install the drop in the springs. But they were burly drop ins

    • @ALCHEMOTO
      @ALCHEMOTO  4 роки тому +2

      If its just spring replacement then in situ is fine, but with the mono shock set up its easier to remove, drain and clean and set up the lower retaining bolt and top out springs off the bike .

    how much oil did you put in the tubes

    • @ALCHEMOTO
      @ALCHEMOTO  2 роки тому +1

      You only need around 5oz in each cartridge as they are a sealed gas ram, oil is just for lubrication and not for damping, so you can forget about fork seal leaks forever 👍. And also the ride quality is 100% improved

    Thank you for the ATTEMPT at making a video..... you have a lot to learn!! Could not understand a word you said, then you added music on top of a very poor sound track ....WTF? Your new, empty shop is an echo chamber Also, a watching someone work on a bike from 3+ meters away, is pretty much worthless. But again.... thank you for the effort, greatly appreciated.

    • @ALCHEMOTO
      @ALCHEMOTO  3 роки тому +3

      You are quite correct mate 👍. And I only knew the sound problems after I did the video, which was an early video, by the way, and you would notice the workshop on later videos is now fully insulated and kitted out. If I had realised how shit gopro mic's were at that time, I would not have used it without a shielded or boom mic, especially as I used to run a recording studio 🤔, so really , I dont have a lot to learn, just the way the equipment ran at the time, which I am sure an apology for the quality was mentioned, also, at the time, my sub count was probably about the same as yours🤔. And since my improved channel and equipment it now sits at over 1.2k so a slight improvement since. 👍. But honestly, I wish I could go back and do it all again, but until I fit another set of mono's, that isnt an option 👍. Many thanks for the input. Cheers
