    Just fyi, the 6 amp DeWalt battery puts even more power available to that impact. I was pleasantly surprised when popping lugnuts on& off. The 8 amp does also over 4 amp but not over the 6 amp. They also last way longer. Thank you for your content

    I paused the video @ 7:38 here and I'm amazed at the size of the front pully. It's huge. I suppose it seems huge to me because the last bike I had that didn't have a drive shaft was a dirt bike and we had comparatively speaking, a much smaller front sprocket than we see here with that pully.
    I also notice how large the rear pully is too. I suppose it has to be that large because the front pully is so big in diameter. A smaller front sprocket or pully will gear the bike down and make it more suitable for slower speeds going down the road, and if you want to gear it up, you put on a smaller rear pully.
    So what I'm getting at here, is why are the pullies so big? Can't the same gearing be achieved by going with smaller pullies, since a smaller front pully will gear it down and a smaller rear pully will gear it up?
    Yet there may be something about the design such that it needed to be that way for the chain or belt to clear something, I suppose.

      Yeah I guess I’m just used to the Harley sizes being this way lol. I e worked on other bikes and seen how small they are compared to Harley. I’m not entirely positive, but I would assume it’s due to the durability maybe? The bikes are heavy and the chains are big so maybe they need more material ?

      You might be new here….but I’m very pro chain. I’ve had a chain on my low rider S for a few years now. With modern day formulas chain maintenance is super easy. I like muc off to clean them and maxima spray wax. No sling at all and the muc off does a crazy good job. You do not have to clean it every time it gets wet. Maybe with crappy products that people think still exist from chain days of the 80’s. But nowadays chains are incredibly easy to maintain man. Thanks for watching!! 👊🏻

      If you don't ride hard the belt is fine. If you DO ride hard the belt ISN'T fine. You may replace it once after breaking it, but after the second time you will rethink. Either replace with a chain or change your riding style. I chose chain. My friend snapped 3 or 4 belts on his wife's '03 1200 Custom bought new and before it was only a few years old. I changed to chain after the first snapped belt.

      Any luck? I have a 2020 1200 Iron and seemingly without an act of god cannot get this damn front sprocket nut off. I've tried impact driver, 4 ft breaker bar, steel pipe extension, absolutely nothing will make it budge. I had to put it in 2nd gear, have someone sit on the backend, and put a steel pipe through the damn mag locking wheel in place and it just tries to lift the entire back end of the bike up. I think Harley f*$&ing welded this gdamn nut on. (and yes I know it is reverse thread, haha)

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  5 місяців тому +1

      You gotta have some thing between the chain and the belt if you can. There’s enough give in the belt that it takes a little bit of that torque away. And as far as removing that nut, just get a better impact. A lot of the decent size impacts look like they would work fine but they are just not enough. Made that same mistake on my softail that I did this to a while ago. Had a pneumatic one that posted pretty good specs and it did not even come close to budging until I bought a $300 battery powered impact Tool only

    I tried the chain conversion kit with my 2021 883 and the recommended belt to sprocket ratio doesn’t seem to fit ? The 530 chain drags on the top of my passenger peg/foot master bracket any idea why that is? I’m thinking the 51 tooth sprocket in the kit is too small

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  21 день тому

      It sure who you bought it from. But depending on which “stock” setup or combo you purchased, the website should have had a little note/disclaimer that you’ll need a bump/chain guide to keep it off of the passenger pegs

      @@RidinDad it’s a tc bros conversion kit, says that it will fit a stock sportster 2004+ frame and up, long story short the belt rear sprocket is like 2x the size of this new sprocket so I guess I’ll try a bigger tooth in the rear like a 65

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  21 день тому

      A 65 rear with that sane front would be insane. My sporty had the 58 and it was a big change. Most places even only make a 58 as the largest option. I believe tc is one of the companies that make that chain guide that would fix your issues

      @SushiTattoos 20 днів тому

      @@RidinDad a huge saucer plate as my rear sprocket is really my only option I think at this point, says on tc bros fitment for my kit it’s for stock swing arm (my swing arm is definitely stock) the reservoir for my foot brake and passenger peg assembly are all on the same bracket which is where it’s hitting. On older models from what I’ve researched the passenger peg is deleted and the master for the foot brake is more under the sprocket housing case… so in conclusion of my stupidity the newer model won’t work with the conversion

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  Рік тому +1

      I had absolutely no issues at all. Not even close. But like I said, in this video, you will need to get an additional piece that stops the chain from contacting your rear foot pegs if you have them on the bike. I do not have them on this bike, so that is why you did not see me install them, but I did mention them. And I guess the scraping on the exhaust bracket would be dependent on which bracket and which exhaust you have, but on my specific set up, it does not even come close to having any issues.
