I don’t shave cause my face gets irritated. My job used to require me to use a respirator. If you insist on keeping facial hair and need to use a respirator/gas mask, you can use Vaseline and spread it around the contact area to get a tight seal. Still not ideal, but it works in a pinch. I used it to protect against harmful fumes from using a torch. Not sure if I’d want to count on that method against chemical weapons though.

I saw a guy use a rubber diving hood to get a seal on a gas mask. You can’t use a normal breathable wet suit mask, it has to be a rubber one. He even proved it was a good seal by doing a test with it.
I have to imagine it would work for normal respirators too, but how ideal wearing a rubber diving hood would be is another story.
Gas mask is perfectly fine. The filter now it depends, if you’re going to try and survive full on like CBRN attack might not be the best. But for simple hazardous particles that would work perfectly fine.
Now I am just an amateur collector, so I wouldn’t be 100% sure.
What would you recommend for a CBRN acceptable mask?
@@titanart6225kinda depends on how much you want to spend if you’re looking for a cheap one then really any mask with 40mm nato thread (where the filter attaches) and that can make a good seal to your face is fine with a new sealed filter will work. If you really want something more expensive than something like an Israeli m15, or American m40 would work. But really all that matters is if the mask can seal to your face and you have a good filter.
The more expensive ones come with more features like a drinking straw, and lenses that won’t fog easily.

Thats the country boy warble. Its a mating call often used in musical affection displays. Great examples would be Bocefus, jones, or coe amoungst many others, each with their ownuniques characteristics. Fascinating creatures.
I love this thing. I've got it already. If you leave the film that comes on it, you'll get so much more use; once that thing gets scratched up, you can just peel it off. What gets me is the clarity where I swear I didn't feel like I was in such a cesspool before when I was just wearing my goggles and my p100, but it ends up I squint with crap protection.
Those are called peel offs. You can buy them in packs of 10 for pretty cheap. Use to go through them constantly when I did industrial paint spraying

You can't have facial hair in the military for this very reason. You will never effectively be able to use one of these with one. Also the reason for hitlers little mustache lol that style was popular for that reason

What are the two circles in the middle? The upper one appears to be an exhalation valve, but what's the lower one that you pointed out is directed down?

Balaclava pulled over your beard to below bottom lip may help with a seal if the beard is an issue..

Wouldn't bother getting a respirator that doesn't use 40mm nato filters. They're more easily available than proprietary fittings.

Beards definitely mess up your seal which sucks but the beard is goin nowhere lol

It's not just for chemicals. I use masks like these for my job daily. And when not on the job I use it for painting or cleaning any other hazards around my home. I wouldn't say wear it to your local Walmart, but shit if you're worried about Covid. 😂

95% of particulates is pretty bad since 3Ms basic p100 filters are 99% effective
